LONG POST WARNING--my Google review. Would give 0 stars if I could based on my experience this evening. My friend and I went to Chuy's in Katy, TX for dinner. I ordered a salad with chicken fajita and my friend ordered tacos al carbon with no beans and rice. Food was delivered with beans and rice and no salad dressing. But that's not the point here. As I am chewing on a bite of my salad, I can tell there is a foreign object, NOT salad, in the back of my mouth and about to go down my throat. I start to dry heave just to do anything to move it back up and my friend Rachelle is worried I am choking on my food. I had to stick my hand in the back of my mouth to remove this piece of metal, which was all coiled up, from the top of my throat. I am shocked and scared and sitting there holding this piece of metal (not thinking to take a picture of it) as my friend Rachelle goes to get a manager. The manager comes over and NEVER once asks if I was ok, or did she apologize. She proceeds to grab it from me and says oh, it is just the metal off the brushes they use to clean the grill; that they used to use plastic ones but they would melt. She even giggles at one point and asks if she can bring me another salad. At this point, our dinner was ruined, I told her I don't want to eat anything. She takes the salad away and that was it. We sit there wondering what is happening, waiting to see if the GM was going to come over as she mentioned they were in the kitchen. Then our waitress comes over and she said her manager told her what had happened, and she apologized and gave me a gift certificate for two dinners. She didn't mention comping our meal, she didn't ask if I was ok. Nothing. No manager ever came back around to follow up, do an incident report, ask if I was ok, or get my name and number for any type of incident report. It wasn't just IN my salad, I almost swallowed it. My throat is irritated from this and I hope there is no serious damage. As we get up and leave, not sure if they are comping the meal or what, as our waitress never looked our way again, we proceed to leave. My friend Rachelle tells the hostess what happened and that we are leaving. The young hostess asks her to show her where we were seated, so she did, but I honestly think she just didn't know what to do in the situation. My friend Rachelle, who was very worried about me, calls the restaurant to get the managers name after we left. When the manager Kara answered, Rachelle asks if she was the one who just handled the situation, she said she was Kara and yep that was her. Never once asked if I was ok, then she hung up on my friend. I am very disappointed in the way this manager handled this incident. Surely a company like Chuy's would have protocol put into place for incidents like this. Some human compassion. We love Chuy's and eat there often, and just recently complimented another manager there for the awesome service we had that time. But this experience was SO different!! The service was not great and the management's handling of this incident was horrible. read more

Ok, so this was our first time going here. Thought we would try it since we live close by. My hubby is a big fan of chips and salsa so we hoped they were good. The chips were really good, they were real fresh and not greasy at all. Now the salsa, sigh... they give you this ranch type salsa, we did not like it at all. The other "sauce" they give you is pico de gallo, really? Pico de gallo is NOT a sauce so that was disappointing. We ordered the fajita beef burrito and it was really good. The burrito comes stuffed with refried beans, cheese and the meat of your choice. It's a big burrito and very filling. While the burrito was good it had ALOT of beans, too much! The beans took away from the fajitas and cheese inside the burrito. Had we known this, we would have told them to go easy on the beans or just ask them to leave the beans out. You also get rice with the burrito and I love rice, but not this rice. It was cooked with way too much tomato that all I could taste was the tomato. So that was unfortunate. The flour tortillas were really good! So overall it wasn't bad and the price is really good! We will go back and try another dish. Will update after and we go again. read more

I never write reviews but I had to take the time out of my day to write a review for the bartender I had. I do not recall his first name but his last name Powers stuck with me. He was a very good bartender I almost felt like it was the manager serving me. He was very well mannered, attentive, funny and smart. Before getting into my corporate job I was a server so I love to see that their are still great servers out here. Not sure of what his rank is at work but he should most definitely be promoted to manager or something I am beyond please with my service. Chuys gets 5 stars for their accommodation, consistency, and delicious Mexican food! I've been going to Chuys for the past 4 years, and they have always accommodated to vegetarian and vegan preferences. The food has remained consistent each time. Salsa is always fresh, chips are always thin and crispy, and overall a great experience. Great happy hour, too! Consistency is a very big deal when we're talking about large, national, chain restaurants... and that is something that Chuys has always delivered- Hence the 5 stars. My go to is the chalupa with: Beans, lettuce, pico, guac and then a veggie enchilada with the ranchero sauce. Be sure to try their cilantro lime rice! So delicious, filling, and tasty. If you're not hungry for an entire meal feel free to order these a la carte. read more

We went here last Friday for dinner about 5pm. Had the chimis with fajita beef, of which there was plenty. Service was excellent. I wish I had kept the receipt with the gals name-young with light blonde/red hair. She explained all the sauces and brought over a sampling so we could decide which we wanted. Kept refilling drinks, which is no small task with the way my son drinks soda. One thing I'd ask next time is maybe if they could pour the salsa over the chimi instead of on the side. Been here more than 3 times, always sat at the bar and we always got the same bartender. He's really nice and one time we came in 30 minutes before closing (I know, it's terrible), but we ordered immediately so that they could clean up. We always order the same thing, the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Enchiladas are consistenlty great. Sometimes the chicken is dry. Will keep coming back. read more

I think I came here once before my Yelp days because the food and scenery looked kinda familiar. Nevertheless, came here to celebrate one of my buddies b-day. Food: I ordered the Elvis Presley combo plate. It came with 3 different enchiladas that had ground beef, chicken, and cheese. It also came with refried beans, Spanish rice, and another ground beef taco with nacho shell. The enchiladas weren't the best I ever had, but they were ok. The refried beans and rice were a little worse. I enjoyed their ground beef taco and nacho shells better than the dish itself, and these were included extra on the side. Overall: This place is considered Tex-Mex and they also serve margaritas. But there are a lot better Tex-Mex places out there. Other than the portion size they give you, the food really didn't impress me. I would like to come back to try one of their burritos and a margarita, just to see if it's better than the enchilada plate I ordered. read more

They ALWAYS pick the typical white American family. #2 the hostess double say the same exact server who just said as we walked in don't sit me I am off the clock. So she say us any way. This past weekend was my first visit to a Chuy's and have to say that I am a fan. The place was packed as are most places in Katy on the weekends. I think the wait was around 30 to 40 min for a table but luckily we found empty seats at the bar. Glad we did as the bartender was great. She checked on us often and was genuinely friendly. Started off with salsa and chips, much better than you would find a your typical tex-mex place. If you are having chips and salsa you have to have a frozen Margarita, well at least I do :) The margaritas are pretty good, not crazy strong but with a nice balance of lime and tequila. For starters we had the appetizer plate. It came with nachos, chile con queso, quesadillas and chicken flautas. Everything was tasty but my favorite were the chicken flautas, will definitely be getting them on my next visit. For my entree I had the Comida Delux. It came with cheese enchilads (just ok), a chicken flauta (yum) and a crispy taco. It also came with rice and beans. The rice was very good and the beans had a nice smokey flavor. The restaurant was clean and I really liked the ambiance, bright festive colors with lots of dog photos on the walls. Turns out if you bring a framed pic of you pooch you will receive a free appetizer. Very Cool! Good music as well. If you are craving tex-mex look no further. read more

I've had better tasting food and experiences at other locations but I didn't enjoy my 2 dine in experience here. The place has a very old decoration set up. One room has rims covering the ceiling? The wood looks very old and dusty. The place smells like raid! The rice and beans aren't good to me. The menu is way too simple with not enough options. I was hoping I would like it, since a lot of others seemed to, but that was definitely not the case. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because of the creamy jalapeño sauce and the strawberry margarita (which was extremely over priced for the size). I ordered combination fajitas, which were extremely bland, the tortillas were too thick and were cold, I ordered a side of queso which tasted like thick, partially melted cheddar cheese, but I was charged $3 for a very small dish of it. I hadn't been to Chuy's in years because I was always disappointed with the food. Well, I went to this location last night and was kind of pleasantly surprised. I was there in a group of 8 for a friends birthday dinner celebration. The food took about 30 minutes to come out and service was slow, but the total for the bill was impressive....which is why I'm giving 3 stars. Our bill came out to ~$120 for 8 people. - Chips & salsa: Salsa was good, but pretty spicy. They also have a second dip which is pretty much the equivalent to ranch dressing - I did not care to eat the ranch with my tortilla chips, but other members of our party loved it. - Beef fajitas for 2: Portion size is just right for two people, but compared to other restaurants it could be seen as small. The meat was cooked to medium/medium well and was heavily seasoned - for me it was a bit over cooked and over seasoned - I want to taste the meat and not so much black pepper, even though I do love black pepper. Overall, these fajitas rank #3 for me. Lupe's and Pappasitos are my favorites, but Chuy's is still most definitely way above (the orignal) Ninfa's. read more

The general manager at this location walks around with a towel tucked into his crotch when I asked for the corporate number they gave me I guess another general manager who is taking over and has assured me that this gentleman will no longer be there as of today #*#*#*#*#*# This guy is gone and the new guy is great. My favorite place to eat! I really love Chuy's and this location. Easy access off Katy Fwy and close to my house so we frequent here. Service is fantastic even when it's completely packed. No looking around hoping you will get a refill- they are on it. The sampler appetizer is my favorite, I just love their nachos. Don't get me started on their green sauce. I don't care if it's ranch or not ranch- whatever it is it's like crack to me! Happy Hour = free nacho bar. Totally worth it and you don't have to be sitting in the bar area to partake either which is a plus. We are return customers forever. We love Chuys!! read more

This is our go to place for happy hour! You can eat out of the trunk and get filled up! We usually get quesadillas along side. Love the Texas Martini & if you're into spicy try the New Mexican Martini! The chips go down fast with the lovely creamy-jalapeñy sauce! The bar area can get packed, so come early. The bartender works his ass off and has great stories if you come alone. If you have a pup and bring in a framed picture, they will hang it on the wall and give you a free appetizer! Awesome food! Fun place to eat! The atmosphere is eclectic with various themed rooms. Even has a chihuahua photo wall that you can bring your own framed photo of your chihuahua and add to the wall. Best chip dipping sauce is the creamy jalapeño. But their salsa and queso are great too! Can't go wrong here. The chuychanga is the best on the menu in my opinion. My wife loves the fajitas. They have a great outdoor seating space too. It's a bit loud at night but I don't mind that at all. Sweet Tea Rating: 7/10 It's decent sweet tea. Tea flavor is a little bit bland. Not too bad. Let me start out with this: I am a pretty big fan of Chuy's as I have worked for the company in the past and have grown to love their food. This review is not about the quality of the meal. When we were greeted the server did not tell us her name. When she asked how we were doing we replied that we were doing well and asked how she was doing. She replied with "well I'm here at work, what better place to be" sarcastically. We laughed awkwardly. The rest of the service was good up until the point of being done eating/waiting for our check. My fiancé and I had been talking for about 5- 10 mins until we realized that the server had still not been around to remove plates or ask if we were ready for a check. Another 10 mins passed before our server came by and asked if we were finished with our meal, she said she would be back with the check. She came back in a few minutes but we then waited another 10 mins before getting our card back. I knew our server was somewhat busy but not busy enough for this to happen as she continued to pass our table several times. Finally, once we were paid out and we were signing our check the manager came around and asked if she could get plates out of our way. She grabbed one small stack of two bowls and comes back to ask how our dinner was. I replied nicely "everything was wonderful except that it took over 20 mins to pay out and for someone to grab plates out of our way." All she said awkwardly was I'm sorry and walked off and that was that. I never write reviews but I felt like they need to know that their business needs help. Many servers passed us by within that time and not one asked to remove plates from our table or offered to pay us out. And as someone who has worked in the service industry for more than 10 years I was highly dissatisfied with the managers reaction. When customers are done and ready to leave they are ready to leave. Service sucks but the food is good. Pappasitos is better. read more

Price for a fresh tres leches cake with in house made caramel sauce and crema accompanied by fresh strawberries and enough to feed 6-10 is $28.00. Fair price Location is a bit tricky off the feeder of I10 Staff are very sweet, but most are high school students I believe so once you place an order, please call and follow up several times to make sure it has been placed, that it's the right item/quantity etc Pick up parking spot was very nicely located, and you just phone the number on your parking space tell them your order and they bring it out to you and the whole transaction is done from the comfort of your vehicle. You would think tortillas were made with a human sacrifice on the back of a unicorn as stingy as they are. Oh they'll pour the white sauce down your throat, but the tortilla stand is run like the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld. It has been that way for the last year. For a $27 entree meant to feed two people, you would think a minimum of six or eight tortillas should come with it. NOPE. They bring them to you one at a time. I kid you not. It's like asking permission to have another fajita taco, with every taco. This isn't a one time thing, it wasnt just one server, that is legitimately how this place runs. Fajitas for two comes to the with THREE tortillas for TWO people apparently, to share what appears to be a whole cow on a cast iron football. Asking for more tortillas results in two more tortillas for two people. The food is good, but plan to bring your own tortillas from HEB. read more

Very casual. Reminds me of a Fridays with all the décor. Kid friendly! Clean inside, surprisingly with all the crap on walls! Out door seating was great. Our server Daniel was awesome! Great personality, up beat, knew menu in and out. I had boom boom enchiladas. They were ok. Ive had better but sauce was yummy. Beans were good, chips we're amazing with salsa. Gave a ranch sauce with chips. Was different. I'm a Northerner so coming to Texas I want stuff I don't get at home. Los Cucos was much better.. But this place had it's flair...people here understood English much better. Los cucos...yea.. Lots of explaining and re explaining.. Made me uncomfortable that my food wasn't going to come out correctly. That was not the case here.. Noisy if there is a party in car room. Also cold.. Bring a sweater! read more

Great food, great service, great atmosphere! I came here after a long day at the water park and all I wanted was a cool place to sit, eat & relax. We were able to sit on the patio which was perfectly shaded & had a very tropical feel to it. I ordered one of their famous Texas Martinis & OMG!!! I was able to get 6 full glasses from the shaker they provided. It was delicious & refreshing! All of our food was authentic Tex-Mex which I had been craving since I don't like in TX anymore. Great portions, I had enough to take home and ate it for lunch the next day. Looking forward to going back again! read more

Go anywhere else for Mexican food. Came here on a Monday night on a friends request (although I really wanted Los Cucos) and it was a huge mistake. Terrible service, incorrect food and unhelpful manager. Our server had a large table at the beginning so we figured once they left, service would get better. We were wrong. No drink order or chips for 10 minutes. No food order for another 10 minutes. No refills on drinks until after we had finished our meals. Food came out completely wrong- all of our enchiladas came without sauce on them???? Not on the side either, just cheese-filled rolled crispy tortillas. What was weirder was that our server didn't see anything wrong with this and made it seem like we were weird for wanting sauce on our enchiladas. He took them back and then told us that they aren't cooked in the sauce so he brought some to pour on top of them. STRANGE. Manager walked by to ask how our meal was and I told him I was unhappy with my dry enchilada and the service. He took our plates and didn't apologize then went and talked to our server. I assumed he was telling our server that we weren't happy and maybe they were going to give us a complimentary dessert or something because they were talking for about 15 minutes. We were ready to go (obviously) because the manager picked up our plates. I had to waive our server down with my credit card and he seemed confused that we wanted to pay and leave. Manager was no help and service was terrible. How disappointing that when I told them a problem, the manager didn't even have the decency to apologize. As we were leaving, all the tables around us were without refills and some without chips or drinks who had been there long. I will never return to this establishment and I am sad that I wasted my money there. Go to Uncle Julios or Los Cucos if you're in the mood for Mexican! read more

This restaurant is cool, with tire rims hanging on the ceiling, and good music playing. They bring you chips, with this lovely green sauce and some red sauce. The servers are always checking on you, and there's a lot to choose from the menu. I usually get the fajitas for one, the beef ones specifically. I like the way they are prepared, with some caramelized onions. However there's not a lot they give you to put in your fajitas if you want to make makeshift tacos with them. That's usually what I do. I wish there were more choices like pico de Gallo and some of those good beans. But they taste good with their nice flour tortillas. Another thing I like from here are the panchos. They're pretty much nachos, but that's the nickname they give for them. They're really cheesy, but the chicken they put in the nachos is really tender and tasty. I think I might have to try more options next time. I wish there would've been more to choose from in their entree and lunch specials. I do love to try all the Chuy's locations around town. Just another good Tex Mex place. read more
