Local dive bar off of S. Mason in Katy. Thursday is steak night, $12 will get you a ribeye, loaded baked potato and salad. It's a pretty good deal. On the weekends they have a crawfish boil, you can purchase it by the pound or get all you can eat for around $25. This past weekend was Dukes Memorial crawfish boil with live music. Crazy packed but we still had a great time. Sundays they have bloody mary, draft beer and bucket specials. They also have a shuffle board tournament most Sundays. The bar is smoke free and has been recently remodeled. The staff is friendly and the drinks are reasonable. Great place to go and have a drink. read more

Dukes is an icon on Mason road...correction...in Katy, Texas. What I love about Dukes is that it was always kinda "honky tonk" which later became "Dive Bar." This is the joint your folks may have gone to on a Saturday night while you were home with a babysitter. Ahh...but things have changed. In recent months Dukes has had a make over Mr Taffer would be proud of. Frankly it was time. It's time for the next generation to appreciate this iconic bar. Everything has been updated from a new entrance to staff wearing Dukes tees. As mentioned this may have been your folks bar back in the day but it's your bar now. They cater to Sunday football, local sports, great crawfish (children welcome) and are now NO SMOKING! This is huge for not on Dukes but for Mason Rd and the growing nonsmoking crowd. Their happy hour is literally amazing. Bartenders are always friendly and outgoing, I usually seat outside in the patio since it's less crowded, so I have to make sure I order from the bar then it goes smoothly. Bars usually give me anxiety but being here doesn't give me bad vibes at all even with the darkness of this place manages to be able to have great energy. Recently shared a few drinks with some buddies at Duke's and had a great time. Old school watering hole, that has been recently restored but still holds true to it character. Plenty of TV's to watch the Rockets games on, beer was ice cold, they had a decent selection (more local brew could be added), and smoke free environment which is great for me, but weird for a Katy bar. Bar doesn't have a kitchen, but there is a very good taco truck on back patio. I also saw they allowed door dash to deliver food, which is cool. Bartender was cute and super nice, staff always made sure my drink was full. All in all I didn't have huge expectations walking in, but I will be a regular walking out! read more

Very fun little hole in the wall bar to go to and the oldest bar in Katy!! Always have fun every time I'm there. Great crowd with regulars. Love it because it's non-smoking inside but they do have a great patio out back for smokers. Beer is always ice cold. No kitchen there unfortunately but there is a taco truck out back and they do allow you to bring in outside food/ get food delivered. read more

As far as a long bar goes this one is pretty good! It's clean and smoke-free which is a major plus for me! Saturday is karaoke night and they have crawfish on Sunday (when in season). It's not super packed so you can talk and enjoy the company you are with. read more

I went there on a Thursday and it was steak night. It is an awesome deal but it is also not made in the traditional kitchen. Drinks are cheap. A definite hole in the wall dive bar for sure. read more

I recently we to dukes to meet with some friends and they have done an awesome remodel with 6 huge TVs always showing sports. Fantastic new bartenders and waitresses. Smoking only on the back deck so totally smoke free inside which is a plus for nonsmokers! I had a great time and will definitely be back soon! read more

Came here to play pool today (Monday) bartender told us it's supposed to be free pool except no one unlocked the pool tables. Bartender also didn't know how to get a stuck cue ball out. I do like that it's none smoking but there is also a smell of musky old stuff in the air. The bar feels like they started to remodel but then ran out of money. Just drove in from SA. Found this place on Yelp. Kinda divey, but pretty nice inside. Pool, Shuffleboard, and a few video games are available for entertainment. Beer is ice cold and reasonably priced. Rock and roll is playing, and Haley, the barkeep is super cool! Idk what this place is like at night, but cool and laid back for happy hour. My husband and I came here the night before new years after bar hopping and we had a great time! We were pretty drunk arriving which helped. I didn't get to play shuffleboard but next time I will. It was a friendly hole in the wall for the non-trendy crowd. I'd go back in the future. read more

Dukes is pretty calm but gets a little loud and obnoxious after 12 when the drunkies arrive. I enjoy the hole in the wall vibe and music, I don't go as often but when I do it's usually not too big of a crowd. Very smokey and the bartenders aren't as attentive to females. It's has pretty cool stuff like the shuffle board, pool and tvs for games and stuff. Not too big of a bar. read more
