Well what can I say about this place. It's a chain restaurant with a very limited menu. We ordered 2 of the house margaritas and one came with a dead fly in it. I prefer a place where I can customize what comes in my burrito, this place is pretty generic with beans and meat. Staff members were fast and nice but the food is bleh. They have a free nacho bar during happy hour! I repeat: THEY HAVE A FREE NACHO BAR DURING HAPPY HOUR! Ok whether or not it is actually free is still a mystery. We ended up ordering entrees too. I got the stuffed avocado. I'd eaten so many nachos I literally only had a couple bites my meal but it wasn't too bad. Not the most visually pleasing (deep fried avocado with random brown colored sauces surrounding it? Yuck!) but the bites I had were tasty. The nacho bar was basic with chips, ground beef, queso, and refried beans. But whatever that jalapeño ranch is that they serve with your chips, so good! I even asked for a container of it to take home. Service was quick and friendly. Margaritas are weak. I'll probably be back if for nothing more than the jalapeño ranch! read more

I'm giving this place a 4 because we love the staff and food. They are very kind and always welcome us. We go here every week because our some (and us) love the place. However, if it wasn't for that I would probably go with a two. They seem to be having some sort of staffing issue over the last several months. We go in and have to wait 20 minutes or more when half the tables are empty. There are a few consistent servers but the rest seem to change weekly. Some of the food is good but the service is consistently bad. I've gone back several times in the last five months hoping each time to get better service - maybe they were having a bad day? Nope. It's bad - again and again. The staff doesn't seem to care. A young man (supervisor/host?) is sarcastic and careless. It's disappointing. The restaurant is colorful and pleasant; the food can be good but the staff appears to be self-absorbed. They don't realize they are loosing opportunities for happier customers and more $$$ revenue. I gave up. I am not going back. There are other Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood with better and genuine service and comparable food - if not better. However, if you want/need free food, their happy hour all-you-can-eat free-food bar is all yours. Munch and crunch away! read more

The biggest trouble with this place is that the manager is a control freak. You aren't allowed to get spicy food the way you like it. I was told point blank that I could either get no flavor or just their own version of flavor. Well, their version of flavor was "no flavor on the tongue". Just a burning and coarse attack on the throat. The worst of both worlds. Usually, only the Germans and Cajuns do this. This is not authentic Mexican by any means. It's just hatefulness. This is the third time we've been to this Chuys, and every time I like it less and less. Last visit, we got chicken chimichangas and they tasted like pot pies. Not the flavor profile we wanted or expected. This time, we both ordered the "bigger than your head" burritos with ground beef. No beans. I asked if it came with the cheese, tomatoes, and lettuce that typically come on the side, they said yes, and I asked if they could also bring sour cream. My burrito came out with no cheese, maybe a pinch of lettuce and the apparently extra charge $1.98 sour cream. Now I am no chef, but my tacos from home knocked this burrito out of the park. My fiancé got the same thing, and his was essentially a triple beans only burrito (asked for no beans). The only remotely redeemable thing about Chuy's is the creamy jalapeño dip, which we asked for seconds of and never got any. The 1 star is only for the jalapeño dip. That is it. read more

I love Chuy's. My only complaint is that its not actually a beachside eatery. When you're there, however, you feel like it could be. If they could pipe in a soft breeze, a faint sea spray scent and a soundtrack of waves in the distance, you'd swear you were on vacation instead of just your lunch break. Yes, Chuy's is a chain, and often Mexican Food Chains can tend to be on the blah/mediocre side of the culinary spectrum, but Chuy's is far above & beyond most other chains. The atmosphere is fun and fresh, the food is fresh and delicious and the beverages are killer...and isn't that whats most important....Obviously we start with the traditional chips and salsa-made in house, but do yourself a favor & ask for a side of creamy jalepeño ranch sauce too. It's addictive. My usual order is either the grilled chicken garden salad with cilantro lime vinaigrette or the plain garden salad combo with a mini quesadilla (you have options of what item you get with the salad)...the fajitas are also on point. Of course the margaritas are a must, and along with the traditional lime flavor, they always offer a seasonal frozen fruit flavor that tastes like real fruit-not just some sugary mix. On the flip side, perhaps surprising for a Mexican restaurant, the bloody marys are some of the best I've had. Their happy hour in the bar area is well worth a trip (free appetizer bar-and drink specials) They also offer a kids menu. Every visit I've experienced has been pleasant and the service is always friendly & fast. Please give Chuys a chance, I'd bet money you'll be pleased. read more

We have been eagerly waiting for Chuy's to open in Florence. We were lucky enough to get an invite to one of their many sneak preview events and really liked their chips, salsa, guacamole and LOVED the creamy jalapeno dip. We didn't go the first day it opened, but we did go there for lunch twice within the first five days it was open. The decor is wonderfully funky and you really need to explore all of the areas to see everything. Tom got tacos al carbon and I had the fish baja tacos. Just great! Oh, and we ate way too many chips. The second time, we had fajitas for two (steak and chicken). They were some of the best we've ever had. As Tom put it, "these are as good as the Alamo Cafe in San Antonio." We picked up both the To-go menu and the Party menu on the way out so we'll be taking advantage of those options very soon. Viva Chuy's! read more

The place is new and the place was packed. Love the unique decor and I love the postcards they provide for us to use as you may (ah, dang, I forgot to grab one on my way out). Their Creamy Jalapeno Ranch Dip for tortilla chips is a must try and pretty awesome. My chicken taco was really good. The server was very accommodating. I asked for lime to squeeze on my rice. No problem. Sour cream on my taco please. No problem. Very impressed I was. What I noticed the most was Teamwork. Any server would dump a scoop of chips in your basket. Any server walks by and fills your glass of water. They work together and I love that. The only thing I would change, is that the restroom is way in the back, off from the dining areas, past the bar. It is not centrally located where I feel would flow better. But..it is full of light (glass block) and clean...so A+ for that. I also really like the creative t-shirts. The one with Florence y'all water tower turned into Chuey's Y'all is very cool. As we were leaving we see St. Elvis tribute area. Funny stuff Chuy:) read more

Chuy's opened up in Florence, KY on 11/6/2012, and being the foodies that we are, my wife and I, and some friends of ours decided to check out Northern KY's newest eatery. The first the I noticed walking into this place is the eclectic decor, the fish hanging from the ceiling, the Elvis head, the palm trees etc. Crazy decor for a Mexican restaurant. I thought the station where you could see them making the fresh tortillas was a nice touch, but enough about the decor. It is the food that matters, and it is pretty good. My wife tried the enchiladas, and I tried the fajitas. We both loved our meals but we thought the sides were somewhat limited. The sides were limited to refried beans and rice. The waitress never let our basket of tortilla chips go empty for very long, and we loved the taste of Chuy's fresh salsa. The girls both ordered frozen drinks, and they were pretty strong (yea!). I was disappointed that they didn't have draft beer, but they have a decent enough beer selection so I could live with bottled beer for a night. Overall, loved the atmosphere, (we ate in the hubcap room) loved the food, and there was enough stuff on the menu that I want to come back and try some different things. I am sure we will be a repeat offender of Chuy's. We really enjoyed it. read more

You know - even though I'm a foodie, I really love Chuy's. They do make everything, in house - roasted chicken, sauces and yes, even the refried beans. We've been to Chuy's, quite a few times - things we love...the thin, crispy, hot tortilla chips (the salsa is average), the boom boom sauce, the jalapeno dip, the chuychanga, the refried beans and the husband loves their big burritos. A fail was the fish tacos (I'm a pro on them) - way too much crunchy breading on them. Also, I hate when restaurants put a bunch of shredded lettuce on and under the guacamole. Such a pet peeve. Not to mention, Chuy's is just eclectic and fun - Elvis heads, hubcaps, huge flowers. Doesn't get better than that. Service, all 4 times, was really great, too. I'm a fan. read more

For a chain restaurant, the interior is cool. fun, unique decorations. The booths are super super small. Facility was clean. Nice bathrooms. Staff was good. Slow service, piss poor attitude from the manager. The locations in Ohio are much better than this one here. Upon being seated, it was 10 minutes before we received our drinks. The order was taken and then delivered with no plates to eat on. Apparently ordering ranch is an issue here. We were told 3 times that it was coming only never to receive it! Interesting enough, it was ordered with the meal. If you didn't have it, say so! A wasted lunch here. read more

After dining with my son at Chuy's today for lunch, I have mixed feelings about the place. First, the good: service, the salsa and the chili con queso. The wait staff were incredibly attentive and polite, the salsa was obviously fresh and had a nice kick, and the chili con queso was extra yummy. Now, the not-so-good: the ranchero sauce and the beef burrito. I'm not sure what words adequately describe the ranchero sauce, so I'll just say this: pick something else. My son ordered a beef burrito which was filled with a boatload of beans and hardly any beef. I understand that beans are cheaper than beef, but please. If you like enchiladas, a little place in Independence called Rio Grande (not to be confused with El Rio Grande) has the best I have tried in the Greater Cincinnati area. My husband always orders tacos there, so I suspect they are good too. read more

This location has the worst customer service. Beginning with the hostess Linda who doesn't know the meaning of customer service. She had a poor attitude And a smart mouth... she tried to seat a group of 5 large adults and one child in a booth for 4 people.... The mgr on duty cassie gave lip service but didn't really care.. it took over 50 min to get our food and it was not the quality of food we are used to getting at chuys. Very disappointing. Absolutely no service whatsoever they do not hire enough people here. I've been here three times and go sit at the bar and they make the bartender run around the whole restaurant and serve the whole restaurant and does not tend to the bar so you might see the bartender once every 15 minutes because they are too busy serving the rest of the restaurant. What a waste of time they should hire another server to work in the bar area so the bartender can concentrate on bartending duties. read more

When I feel home sick , I come here for some tex mex food. Nothing makes me feel like I'm in Texas even if it is for a little bit. Best time to come is during happy hour from 4 to 7. Drink specials are great. They have the nacho car that includes chips, salsa, meat, queso and beans all the ingredients to make some mean nachos! The best part is that it's FREE. When your here make sure you try the ranch jalapeno dip super good! This place has a great patio which I love! I love Chuy's. They have the best chips and salsa ever. I think it's better than chipotle and that's says a lot. I always get the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom bec the green chile sauce makes me do a happy dance. We decided to do the online ordering today and it went great...in fact I got a bag of chips that could feed an army. My son ate the kids crispy tacos and said it was really good... and that's from a kid who doesn't eat anything but pop tarts and cereal. I also got the sopapillas with honey and they were delicious. I used to eat homemade ones in Texas when I was little and they were definitely comparable. The staff is always so nice and the restaurant atmosphere is eclectic fun. When you're eating in the restaurant the food always comes out lightning fast. I'm just a big fan of this place. read more

Yum! If you LOVE Tex-Mex this is the place! I used to frequent Chuy's in downtown Houston for years, and just last week we relocated to Walton from Southern California & driving down the road what do I see but my beloved CHUY'S! We've been twice this week already! The Queso is on point, creamy, flavorful & delicious. Their in-house fresh & hot tortilla chips go perfectly with their yummy salsa. During happy hour you can even have that and retried beans to your hearts desire! Today our very friendly server let us know about the Chuy-Vice, a sugary piña colada style alcoholic drink. Mmmm tasted like an adult slushy! We shared that & the Chuy-changa, chicken chimichanga served with refried beans and rice. We shared the entree and dug into the free happy hour salsa bar out of their Cadillac trunk! (You just have to see it!) YUM YUM YUM. Great staff, EXCELLENT food, run don't walk to this delicious eatery! We WILL be back!!!! read more

Yes, they have been quite short-staffed it seems, lately and the Only consistant server there seems to be Jacob, who is the best. There is another server there who hasn't been there very long and always has a sour look on her face. That being said, we always get service, the food is always excellent and fast. Have always liked Chuy's from 20yrs a go back in Texas. But the service at the Florence KY store has just been pitiful almost every time since they opened. We tried again Sept 2020 and service was again just lousy, from the hostess stand to getting an order placed to getting drinks to finally getting setups for each person seated. Food is great, but I know if I go to this location it will be frustrating, so I have to really really want that chonga with queso. read more

We came here as a party of 8 last night because the guest of honor loves tex lex. But the service was horrible -we were literally served the wrong food. Like they said, this is combo 1 and it wasn't. Then when we got the bill which we had told our server how to split before ordering, he literally charged all of us the wrong thing - there was not one correct bill among the 4 that we got. We just ended up paying it and settling among ourselves. When my friend asked for a dessert for the guest of honor, the server came out and tried to give it to another person at our table. I guess I should be happy it didn't go to another table. The happy hour is a really good deal here but the service is horrible and the food not good enough to compensate for its other shortcomings. Went for dinner last night with my son. Our server took our order and NEVER CAME BACK. Another employee brought our food and I was able to get silver ware from her. The server literally didn't come back for 40 minutes and when she did she said "I'll get your check." We couldn't get a drink refill, chip refill, more creamy jalapeño for my entree- nothing! Terrible service! It is difficult to eat spicy food without a drink- to say the least. After I explained to the server that we hadn't been checked on since she took our orders, she mumbled something & left. The manager shows up, apologizes and says "I'll adjust your bill." It was ridiculous. The adjustment was a joke, as was the service. Update: I sent a copy of this review to "hey@chuys.com" as suggested. This has been a go to place for my wife and I for a long time. We were really happy there was one here in NKY when we moved up here. This one is a pretty good one. The only time I've been here and the service wasn't top notch was on a night they were slammed and we were sitting in the first come first serve bar area. The two bartenders were tending bar and taking care of the full room. If you go, ask for the creamy jalapeño dip. It's very very good. read more

Love love LOVE Chuy's. We like to go on Monday's because the daily special is a deep fried avocado stuffed with chicken and cheese. Chuy's has amazing chicken. On weekdays during happy hour there is a "nacho car" with free queso. And their happy hour is longer than most, lasting til 7. Their salsa is pretty good, but the creamy jalapeño dip is where it's at. Their chips are amazing, fresh, warm, and thin. I love the spiciness of their food but their menu is pretty customizable with different sauces and spice levels. read more

A Chi-Chi's for the 21st century. I never went to Chi-Chi's back in the day but i got a feeling that Chuy's is what Chi-Chi's would have evolved into if they had survived the new century. the atmosphere has a festive tropical feel with central American influences. the menu seemed authentic in nature with a variety of burritos, tacos, enchiladas, etc and a selection of salsas & such to choose from. the wait staff was helpful although the music was too hip-hoppy for music to dine to. the only things that got me was the prices, which for lunch, seemed higher than normal for tex-mex faire. and the food was more on the bland side than flavorful , the only that saved it was the assorted salsas. i'd go back it had the money to spend or if someone else was buying, otherwise i'd save some $$ and go to qdoba's . read more

Let me start by saying this... our server was excellent! He was understanding and apologetic. We explained that we knew this wasn't his fault but that our food was just horrendous. My friend and I are both cooks for a living so we understand how food should look/taste/smell. I found chicken bones in my dish and it completely turned me off to eating anymore. My friend's dish was HORRIBLE. The tortillas were WET, like soggy and gross... and the chicken/beef were both bland. The refried beans were definitely canned and the rice crunchy. The manager did come to the table but he wasn't apologetic. He told us that they were only human and that they miss things. I agree but take responsibility for your mistake and fix the issue. He did remove the dish from our order eventually which I appreciate but I won't ever go back. read more
