Went here last night to order food to go. I was told to go to the end of the bar to order. The bartender was helping people on each side of me with to go orders when I asked her if I could order she said she couldn't help someone else would have to. I sat and waited. She was not helping anyone else or making drinks. I pleaded with her to take my order. She acted annoyed with me and finally said she could take my order but put it under someone else's number! read more

I went to the Denton Chuy's location tonight with my daughter who is in college, attempting to lift a mood between us and simply seeking a pleasant evening. Her pick was Chuy's and we always go to Southlake location, but this one in Denton was closer, so we tried it for the first time. OMG the waitress was a total dingbat! We ordered, but what we received was not what we ordered. We were confused. The waitress told us she was trying to save us $4. We were both baffled and then she said don't worry a half order was in its way, but we were still totally confused...while I appreciate her trying to save us $4, I have other stressful concerns in my mind than saving $4 at dinner...When I asked the waitress, if you were going to change our order, why didn't you just ask us first, "would you like this instead?" And her story got stranger as she tried to explain "I was going to loose either way"...WTF? How are you going to loose by giving us exactly what we ordered versus changing our order without telling us??? She made our bad situation for seeking a pleasant dinner at Chuy's far worse. Maybe under different and less stressful circumstances it would have been ok, and maybe I'm being too hard, but this is such a simple thing and destroyed my Friday evening that I cannot get back...We didn't eat and immediately asked for the ticket and left...Needless to say, I will never return to this Chuy's location in Denton....And it's pretty much ruined my whole Chuy's experience for the "far" foreseeable future...Lesson learned, communicate with your customers; especially if you are going to change their order! Sometimes saving money is not the most important reason people visit your restaurant...I would gladly pay you far more than $4 if only I only could have my evening back with my daughter........ read more

We contacted Chuy's for a rehearsal dinner in a private room. Manager immediately got on the phone to help us and was very pleasant to talk with. He had his caterer immediately contact us. We set everything up so smooth. We booked this restaurant from Kansas City, Mo and our fingers were crossed. When we got to the restaurant everything was perfect and Joseph came out and met me. He not only had two amazing waitresses with us, Samantha and Kylie, but he also helped with making sure all food got to us in a timely manner. This restaurant went above and beyond. The food was amazing and everyone was well taken care of. We never had to ask for anything. Amazing experience 5 stars if they were available!! Nothing but rave reviews. I had the chicken fajita quesadilla. I thought it would be like every other quesadilla but boy was I wrong it was like four big tacos filled. They were so good but I could only eat two. I took the other two home which was eaten by my husband because he saw them and said those look delicious. I would come to Chuy's frequently, but I've noticed a huge change in the quality of food doesn't match price, missing menu items, and the servers don't last long enough to even maintain the Chuy's culture and quality service. Common knowledge is to not let dead food go to the table and that's happening far to often for my family and I to continue coming back. You have officially leveled down to taco cabana. Save your money unless your just going to stare at the decorations and that's the only thing in my opinion keeping the lights on. read more

Today was our first visit to Chuy's in Denton Texas. We have heard that Chuy's had really good food so we had to give them a try. When we arrived at restaurant it was 7pm on a Sunday. We were told the wait would be 20 minutes,but we were seated less then 10 minutes later. We purched The Elvis Presley memorial platter, Grill chicken salad, Taco salad with fajita chicken, Chilli relleno with steak enchiladas. All the plates were extremely good and very filling. We also like the salsa and the queso. Our server Cory was really a great server. He made sure our chips were full and the salsa was flowing. We took our Granddaughter and she was a little fussy due to being hungry and tired. He gave her a flour tortilla ball that kept her occupied and happy. The food is great, service is ok, but can be improved . The establishment is nice and clean. The parking lot may have accessible parking, but it's very tight. The onething that was discouraging is that. I was in a party of 10 people 1 being in a wheelchair, me. Everyone was seated comfortably with table space except me the one individual in the wheelchair. I was sticking out of the table because there wasn't enough space so i held my food with a small plate the whole visit. no one seem to notice or care. Pretty good food for a food chain. Service was very good for our party of 10. I must admit, first look at their salsa.....I was questionable. I judge my Mexican restaurants by their chips and salsa. So the salsa is more like a Pico but more juice. So it's a fresh tomato salsa. Chips are very light and crispy. My next judgement....the fajitas. Sizzle or no sizzle.......sizzled wins my vote and that they did. 3rd and another important part are the frozen margaritas, they were just ok. I am a Chuy's enthusiast. I am originally from Austin and have been to the original Chuy's dozens of times. The bartenders at the Denton location are top notch!!!! I have been a couple of times on busy nights (Friday/Saturday specifically) and have been so pleasers by my experience at the bar. Friendly and quick service is an understatement. Having to balance making drinks for the entire restaurant as well as taking orders of those sitting at the bar, table maintenance, etc. These bartenders are pros!!!!! read more

Wow, what a horrible experience!!! We have been coming here for over 7 years and tonight pretty much blew our chances of EVER coming back. First part of this horrible experience was checked in on line and was told 25-35 minute wait. We live about 25 minutes away so we left right then. We showed up and "checked in" again. We then waited another 45 minutes on top of the 25-35 minutes the website quoted. The hostess didn't seem to acknowledge this fact. We had to check in again in order to get anywhere close to a table. We were finally sat 1 hour and 10 minutes after our initial check in. Now on to the table experience, after talking with the manager about our wait. Which had we known would have been over an hour we would have gone somewhere else. But we ordered 2 kids meals. Buyer beware that the menu states beans and rice. We were then told by our server that it is one or the other. Um.... That is NOT what your menu or online menu states. We were then told they would bring us the rice and beans. That we were originally told were not part of the meal even though it clearly states on the menu otherwise. We were told that they would bring us the rice and beans twice. Never showed up! After ordering our food it was another 40 minutes waiting for it to be delivered. By then you could tell that the food had been kept under a warming lamp as the beans were stiff. The food otherwise was the highlight of this adventure. Everything we ordered, while not piping hot was still very good. We then asked for the desserts that come with the kids meal, guess what??? They were out. If they knew this then state this while ordering NOT when you are about to leave. Overall, what should have been an hour to an hour and half dinner, turned into two and half hours. Only saving grace was the food, other than that the service and the lack of caring by the manager and staff killed what should have been a good experience. I've lived in Texas for over a year so I figured it was time to go to Chuy's. I stopped with a couple of friends for lunch and it was delicious. I love that they come by your table with a mini shovel of tortilla chips and keep the salsa full. The menu was a bit of overload for me but I loved the variety and went with the #4. After all the chips and salsa, it was A LOT of food but I took it home to go and it was even better the next time. You got a fan in me, Chuy's! read more

I ordered togo food to be delivered through Uber Eats and unfortunately, the driver dropped off the wrong order. We (my wife) called the driver back and she picked up the food to deliver to it's rightful owner. When I called the restaurant, they acknowledged the mix-up and told me that the system did not allow for another driver to deliver the food. To my surprise, a manager on duty (Cameron), decided to work around the system and deliver my food herself. Totally impressed with her going above and beyond! Took the fam out for dinner. My daughter had never been. The one criticism is that it took them 10 minutes to bus a table and we were there before closing,but towards the end of the evening. The manager finally came and bussed it so we could sit down. The waitress Savannah was super sweet. I told her my daughter had never been and she brought us a platter of the different specialty sauces. The food was amazing for the most part. Chuys is Tex Mex for a fair price . The food is nothing to write home about ; it's better than fast food but not quality TexMex either . Their margaritas, in my opinion , are not that good as well . Now , all that being said , it's an ok place to stop and grab a inexpensive Tex Mex bite during your lunch hour. The atmosphere is ok and service , like most places , is hit or miss depending on who you get . If you haven't been , it's worth a try but there are so many other options in the metroplex that are just plain better . JMO read more

Still nasty! My husband got takeout twice recently. The first time he got home and half of the order wasn't even correct. Second time we got 2 kids bean and cheese burrito meals and they're supposed to be vegetarian. One burrito had a decent sized bone in it. This was not okay on so many levels. Number one, my child could've broken her tooth or chocked... two- why was there a bone in something we were told was veg. It was repulsive and infuriating that it wasn't caught when foxy was made- should've been easily visible as it was not a tiny shard. It was about 3.5" long! This location is garbage consistently. Have had good experiences in the past. Don't go often because don't live in Denton. First, was disappointed Chile Rellenos no longer available. So, ordered steak burrito. Some meat was charred, and tasted burnt. Server provided a replacement, and it also tasted burnt. Manager did take off check, asked if wanted something else, but by that time my taste buds and appetite were gone. Also asked for queso and fresh flour tortillas with drink order and never got either. Server set drinks down and never saw again until after food order.
