Came here for lunch recently and overall had a good experience. Chuys is always good for some Americanized Mexican food. Only complaint, and I wasn't even mad about it, but they did accidentally give me cheese enchiladas instead of chicken. They replaced it and remade them very quickly and they were pretty good. Our server was also very nice and attentive. Overall I would recommend this location!

My friend jokingly suggested we come here when we weren't sure where to go eat, and we first laughed about it then decided that Chuy's sounded really good. Because it's such a basic Austin staple that everyone goes to, we didn't really think highly of it when thinking about where to eat, but we had a great time dining here. The food is very solid Tex-Mex that never blows us away but hits the spot. The chips they give are great. I got the creamy green chile chicken enchilada, which was pretty good, and it's a new menu item. It was quite spicy for me, but I have a low spice tolerance. My friend got the blackberry margarita and loved it. They have a good marg selection with good prices.

I really enjoyed this place. They start you off with chips and salsa and they do NOT short you on the chips. Then the cups are large for your drinks. And the food is simply delicious. Our waitress was very kind, I forget her name. She was a new hire (March 2025). Was really good. I will be back.

This location is still by far our favorite...The service is just different at this one...always happy and friendly...and the grungy (mean this in a good way) look of this joint just hits right....and with that said...Green Chile rice had made it way back to the menu...took way too long....Every time we go I say I'm getting something different, but I always resort back to the Elvis Combo....maybe its the crispy taco on the side...Overall a great experience as usual.

We love coming to Chuy's for great Tex Mex food. I like to get a kids burrito with queso or green salsa on top. The children's portions are pretty large so that usually keeps me full. The chips and creamy jalepeno are a classic. We come back time after time for excellent service and excellent food.

Good Mexican food, love their boom boom sauce! The mango-strawberry swirl margarita is amazing. Busy restaurant. Overall enjoyed the experience here.

Chuy's is Austin standard Tex-Mex restaurant, serving some variation or rice, beans, meat, and tortilla. I ordered a Comida Deluxe and got a frozen strawberry marg, and it was very filling for the price. The taste is pretty standard, guac is good. I also love that they give chips and salsa prior to your meal for free, and their service is great. Otherwise, the flavor is a little lacking, but I would give 4.5 stars if I could.

This is consistently the best Chuys in town. We live near the Round Rock location and still drive 25 mins to N. Lamar. Their service is top notch, their food is always and plentiful and it's just an overall great experience. After over 20+ years I finally tried the churros today. OMG. Mind blown. So good. Just get them. P.S. I don't like churros.

I ordered the baja shrimp taco and it tastes pretty good! It comes with rice and beans on the side and complimentary chips. The portion is pretty decent with great service.

I'm feeling like I under appreciate Chuy's. This place has a consistently great menu, food is always consistently good in taste and quality and you just can't go wrong with the margaritas either. We visited Chuys more frequently before the Covid but since then they don't have the trunk full of chips and dips so we've had to find other places in town to mooch and drink. (BRING BACK THE TRUNK GUYS!). Seriously, I miss the happy hours with friends and the good eats. But, we still make a few visits here and there to get our Mex fix!

I've driven by El Alma many times being in the Austin area, but I never went until last Thursday, and after surviving a brief monsoon, I was glad to get a few drinks and eat some good TexMex with my large party just before a wedding. The best way to describe El Alma is that it is TexMex that is Austinified. Everything feels a little more unique and special than your classic TexMex options. I started off with a Mezcal Margarita that put a little hair on my chest and got me going. My group ordered two of their Nachitos, which were these nice nachos. For my main entrée, I got 3 Al Pastor tacos on corn with a side of their rice and beans. Their pastor was served with pineapples, onions, and cilantro with limes on the side. They were great and I immediately crushed them all. I thought their rice and beans were pretty good as well and a step above the typical TexMex rice and beans. The server was pretty attentive throughout our whole visit, and I honestly have no complaints about what they had to offer. Pricing on the meal and drinks was pretty standard for Austin, and I didn't think anything really took me out of the experience. On top of that, for being in Barton Springs, there is quite a bit of parking. I would love to come back at some point in the future and hang out on their rooftop bar because that seems like a lot of fun. Shoutout to El Alma for being a TexMex oasis saving me from the MoPac traffic. RIYL: TexMex, but better than your average

So we were thinking of tacos or Mexican food and my daughter suggested this spot as she had come here with some friends and really enjoyed their sopecitos. I had never had a sopecito! What is that! So we had to try... We were lucky to arrive at the right time (9 pm!) where we got their last table!! Make reservations or something because this is another one of those places that fills up! So- we were taken care of immediately: chips and some very hot salsas were set on the table while we chose. They menu is in QR code format, but we asked and got paper menus as well. Well I got the chicken sopecitos , my daughter got the pork ones and my partner got the meat tacos. Everything was delicious, the food arrived promptly, the portion size was perfect and bountiful and everything was super enjoyable. I really enjoyed trying some New Mexican favorites.
