Churro donut sundae
Rachel H.

Best place for a snack at the LA Zoo. I always get a churro donut sundae and sit by the kangaroos.

The places that service customers at a closed location such as the zoo are the places that don't really care about your experience or your opinion. They overcharge you, they will sell you dry not fresh Churro. And really, they just don't care. It's not that if tomorrow I will feel like churro I will come here. It's inside the zoo. Visitors trap.

Churro sundae

Located by the Koalas Came to the LA Zoo with my sister, her BF, and his niece and nephew. We noticed the churro factory, and we had to give it a try. We got the caramel filled churro, the plain one, and the churro ice cream sundae. The ice cream for the sundae was a soft serve and pretty tasty, they also stick two pieces of churro inside the ice cream that was mediocre at best. The caramel filled one was ok but didn't taste too caramel-y. Don't come here expecting Disneyland quality churros but expect Disneyland prices. $4 for a regular churro and about $6 for the sundae.

Great stop at the end of a day at the zoo for a sweet treat. Carmal and Cream filled Churros...or Churro Sunday!

Great place to end your day at the zoo with a sweet treat! They have many different kinds of churros from Bavarian cream filled, caramel filled, strawberry, etc....and of course my personal favorite a churro sundae! My 2 year old and I love to stop by, take a seat and people watch while we get our hands all sticky!!!

$9.00 for a can of water says it all. The churros were stale and dry. The donuts were even worse. Save your money.

DAMO - Strawberry matcha einspanner and latte einspanner

quality is TEAAA (literally..)…read more There are so many cafes that serve matcha lattes, but as someone who is VERY picky about their matcha blend, I can tell when the cafe uses ceremonial grade matcha. DAMO 100% uses ceremonial grade quality and probably 5-6g of matcha per serving!! I prefer my matcha unsweetened (occasionally having some sweetness added from the syrup/puree/cloud foam a cafe uses) and whatever blend DAMO uses..chef's kiss!! I've been here 4 times, and the quality is consistent each time! Service: quick Parking: lowkey horrible (but that's all of k-town...) Shop design: aesthetic--very minimalistic and pretty. They also have a restroom and free WiFi! Limited seats when busy :c Drinks: BOMB.com will always come back :)

I don't often get matcha, but when I do... I make sure that it's somewhere good. DAMO had really…read moregood reviews, so here I am! Parking here may be difficult to find on the street, but they do have valet, too. On a Saturday afternoon, this spot is packed and quite hard to find a place to sit. Wi-Fi is available, though note that plugs and seating may be another issue. Not every spot comes with a plug, and it's going to be full, so you may need to wait 15-20 minutes. It is indeed a small spot, so if you're looking for a quiet spot to work, this might not be it. The interior decor, though, is quite clean aesthetically and is relaxing to work in. The Matcha Latte, though, let me say if you're in need of an afternoon pick-me-up, this will keep you energized, even without the sugar! A few sips in and a half cup later, I had so much energy I could probably run a marathon if I had the right shoes (and I don't even like running).

I think there is parking behind the shops through the alley. I didn't know any specifics since I didn't park there. As we walked in the front doors, I got in line while hubby saved us a table. If you go out the back door, there is another room with more seating. I waited for my turn at the kiosk... you place the order yourself. Be sure to enter your phone number to earn loyalty points. I felt bad for the one lady making all the orders by herself. She was working as quickly as she could! I watched her for a little bit. She changed gloves often, keeping the ingredients separated. It wasn't long before I was taking my order to the table. I ordered two individual size bingsoos. One would have been ample for us to share. Each of them cost $8.50 and I got a side of Mochi for $2.25. This was some of the freshest Mochi topping I've had! Each piece was so super soft, even softer than marshmallows! They came in a condiment container so we could add them as we desired. Hubby's bingsoo was the Mango Melon and mine was the Mango. The shaved ice used was Mango for both. His had melon (Honeydew) balls and mine had mango chunks. This wasn't the best bingsoo I've had, but it was refreshing and made for a nice dessert! I thought I had been here before, but apparently not! I'm glad we finally got to come check it out!

I've had their gelatos before, and they have very unique flavors (unfortunately the candle smoked and salty egg yolk is not my favorite because it only tastes smoky to me, but some people really love it so I think you should try it if you have the chance). We went on a hot Saturday mid-day, and lots of other people had the same idea, so we had to wait a little bit for a table. They give you a beeper so you can come back once a table is ready. This time, we ordered the mango sticky rice shaved ice, and it was so good my husband and I were mind-blown. It's fun to eat because you get multiple components on one tray, and you can continually go between eating the mango sticky rice and the shaved ice with mango gelato, mango chunks, and coconut cream. Every part of it was so yummy and refreshing, it didn't feel too difficult to share and finish between two people. They hide mango chunks inside the middle of the shaved ice too, so it's not solely a bowl of ice when you get to the bottom. I will go back again just for the mango sticky rice shaved ice because it is so unique and delicious, but when mango season is over, they stop selling it.
