My family and I were avid fans of Chuck E. Cheese at other locations. Until today here at the Katy one. We came for a school fundraiser and got the unlimited play for 60 minutes. In the past, we've used this card between three people and it's ample play. There is usually a 10-15 second wait time. This time, between three kids, the wait time wouldn't work even after a minute of waiting. This wasted around 10 minutes of our play time of the 60 minutes just trying to get it to work. I went up to the front desk, where there was one attendant. She was friendly but slow and it seemed like another ten minutes until it was my turn. I told her my problem and asked her for another card because this one was obviously not working. She told me I should switch to 60 points because that's the equivalent of one hour. I asked for a replacement card but she just told me to switch for 60 points. Fine, whatever will get it to work. Our kids are antsy. She disappeared for another 10-15 minutes, and I waited while there was no attendant in the front to a long line. Eventually she got the manager to help her who then started explaining things to me as if it was user error. Then he told me I had 50 points. I told him I thought it was 60 points. No, he said, because there was 10 minutes used on the 60 minute card. At that point, I was so over the wait and the obvious lack of efficiency and actual problem solving from the staff and three antsy kids that had been waiting to play that I just accepted it. 50 points should last 50 minutes right? The three kids used up the points in around 30 minutes, not 60. I saw within 5 minutes, another mother struggling with her play card with timed unlimited play and asked me how to resolve it. This was obviously a systemic issue, as I saw the attendants then testing cards later. They did not address that we had essentially been gypped of playing time. I wanted to purchase more playing time and pizza when we first arrived, because we were so excited, but after seeing the lack of timeliness and care to even provide a meaningful time, I didn't want to bother. And why charge $2 for wristbands for the playing cards? The place is spacious and clean and otherwise seems okay. This was definitely not the standard of other Chuck E. Cheese's we've been to and not worth the hassle. read more

Still one of the best places for pizza in my opinion. Also, I love the salad bar here. It's not the fanciest, but it sure does taste great, and I love all the topping options. Sunflower seeds and croutons are a plus! Chuck E. Cheese has changed a lot over the years; customers are in charge of most of the service. You pick up your food and plates at the counter. Pepper and parmesan are available over the counter, and napkins are available there too. The employees don't serve you like they used to. Also, if you didn't know or have been living under a rock, no more tokens or tickets! Everything is tracked on a play card. To eat, we ordered a large pepperoni pizza, unicorn churros, lemon pepper wings, and cheesy bread. Pizza is delicious as always, can't go wrong with a classic pepperoni. Came out hot and fresh! The cheese was burning my tongue The lemon pepper wings were good! I think they taste better than wings covered in sauce. The skin was crispier like this, and surprisingly, there weren't too many fatty pieces on this plate. The unicorn churros were cute. Each churro is covered in a different colored sugar. Each color is flavored differently. I believe the flavors are cherry, blue raspberry, and green apple. The taste was not bad, fun for kids Food is good, but remember it's Chuck E. This was my first time bringing my child to this place. I'm a new immigrant to the United States and had never been to this restaurant before. I ordered combo #4, and they gave me some cups and plates. I thought the plate was for the salad bar, so I went to get some salad. Then, a staff member with a green wig came up to me and, in a very rude tone, asked if I had paid for the salad bar. I said no and asked her to please check whether combo #4 included it. She looked at me with a very disrespectful and judgmental expression, as if I was trying to take advantage of something. I admit it was my mistake to take salad without paying first, but after she told me, I immediately paid for the salad bar. However, her attitude and tone were extremely unfriendly. I recently had a party here and we loved it. The birthday mega package came with unlimited games for our reservation time. The inside was very clean and the staff was cleaning continuously while I was there. My toddler loved the new trampoline! My helper named Savannah, was the best. She was polite and very attentive. Very poorly run. HORRIBLE. Went on a Thursday and there was a line thru the door waiting to pay. Zero staff at front to help for probably as line kept building. Turns out there were 2 people working in the entire place and one only in the kitchen and one up front. But she spent a long time helping people get prizes while people were waiting for 20+mins to just get in!!! She kept prioritizing prizes so every time someone wanted prizes she disappeared. Absolutely freaking ridiculous. There is zero reason to keep running to those who want prizes. If those trying to get in can wait 20 mins, the ones waiting for prizes can wait 3 mins. Kids absolutely love it. Frankly, I don't get it....as an adult it's underwhelming but to be fair I remember being just totally enthralled as a kid with Chuck E Cheese. This location is clean and every time I've been almost all of the games work. It can get really busy if there are a lot of birthdays.. .but my kids have never had to wait any material amount of time. Pizza is... well it's no Napolitano pie..... it's Chuck E Cheese pizza.....like it for what it is. Pro tip- The time based seems to be a much better deal than the fixed tokens...esp if you have a maniacal 4-year-old like I do who likes playing the same token drop game over and over again....60 tokens can disappear in like 5 minutes if you aren't careful. As a parent, I also appreciate that the staff makes an attempt to control the entry and exit of kids...making sure they are indeed leaving with their parents. The only complaint I have is there can be a real bottleneck at the prize counter....they gotta find some MBA's to optimize that bottleneck :) Also not sure where they are promoting their "Fresh Cut Veggies in House" thing......relax Chuck E....nobody is going to your place for veggies. read more

Came here with my Husband and kid great time until everything kept shutting down and not working. First the basketball game only had one ball we asked for someone to see what was going on. the worker "Chase" took my husbands card took it to the back and said "ill fix it" he came back nothing on the card changed when we went back still one ball. All the guy had done was shut down the game. We brushed it off and went back to playing then my husband went to play this angry bird game. When he played it the game would not stop repeating so he was forced kept playing. He got a 100 bonus and then got another and then kept getting 1 tickets and 2 tickets after that. He had kept playing for a while and got tired and went to see how many points he had (he started with 1060 when he looked he only had 1084) so he asked about it and the guy looked and said that my husband had tapped the card 10 times at 8:00 it is now 9:00 at the time and the guy said "u only tapped it 10 times and so i gave u 10 tickets for each time you tapped" my husband clearly mad but trying to stay calm asked "what's your name" the guy replied "Chase" in a rude sarcastic way and when we walked off he said "do you want to know how to spell it?" in an obvious sarcastic tone. read more

I don't normally run to reviews at everyday places but insist myself. As soon as I enter the door I'm met by someone asking if I have outside food. I did! Because my son is a very picky eater. But why is that so important when it's only 2 people in the building and you must follow rules and regulations like your programmed. I did have a huge buffet feast but a box of rice. Something's are just far too important that this, like making sure no children are falling off machines or checking the bathrooms Another thing was they both keep spying on the girl in the front like something was going on! When he finally came out, there was NO music introducing him and when he walked over to the area where he typically does his dance - he did NOT dance. He simply grabbed tickets from the young lady at the front counter, THREW the tickets in the air, waved and WALKED AWAY!!!! What?! Basically he came out to appease OUR two-child party and then left. Simply disgusted!! As often as we come to Chuck E Cheese's because of how exposed our child is to him and the establishment online, I'm disgust, offended and appalled. We were better off with the experience we had the last time we were here. Disgusted. Management didn't seem to care when we complained. Chuck E, today, was Antonio. Chuck E Cheese is a horrible place for anybody not under 6 years old. This one has all the horrible things all of them have (noisy bratty kids running wild, dark, and horrible food), but also has machines that are out of order. There is a special place in hell for whoever came up with this place. One sneaky thing about this place is that their iced tea is not really iced tea. It looks like they brew it fresh because it has the big canister with "iced tea" sweet and unsweetened, so given that there was no other choice instead of tap water, I figured it would be the lesser of the high fructose corn syrup evils in the fountain. The problem is, it's not brewed tea and all that is for show! They have hoses that go back down to the fountain so it's probably the same concentrated HFCS that they're feeding the kids there. They have to realize that not everybody that goes there is a 6 year old who can endure the high sodium, high fat, and high sugar crap they serve and not everybody is there by choice so you could at least try to have something better to eat and drink. Yeah you have what you call a salad bar, but that's not fooling anybody. read more

I went to the Katy location with my mother-in-law and my granddaughter recently. We arrived at 11AM & pretty much had the entire place to ourselves. Although we didn't play most of the games, I did notice that they had all been serviced that morning. My granddaughter absolutely loved when Chuck came to our table & gave her a handful of tickets! The food was good, service was excellent, & the restroom was clean! I especially appreciated that the lady behind the prize counter gave my granddaughter both of the little trinkets she wanted. Didn't even want to give a star. Came to enjoy our son second birthday and let our whole family enjoy time together. Instead they tried to tell us our card didn't go through because their system timed out while the employee was running her mouth being unprofessional. Manager Terry at 6:02 on on Saturday March 7,2020 was unhelpful told us we had to pay again and etc didn't want to help or even try to fix anything as well. Then the cashier yells and say we didn't pay and they won't do anything but argue with the consumer about it. Saying they didn't get paid yet our account shows it had been taken out and even gave us the approve message on the card reader. However since her cash register timed out, it didn't go through on her end but sure as heck did out of our account. After arguing back and forth and even showing TERRY our account he still didn't want to help, yet tell us there is nothing he can do, yet he is the manager & not once tried to do anything ! We won't be coming back. We drove all the way from galleria for our kids birthdays & this happen. They lost a huge family of 7 plus a $200 plus profit today from our family. If I could give this location worse than 1 star, I would. I went to a child's birthday party on 2/23/19. The whole establishment is poorly taken care of. When My son rode the two seat train, he could not ride in the front seat due to the missing seatbelt. However, the ride was not shutdown nor any sign was left indicating the ride was out of order and needed repair. The place was extremely crowded and Unkept. Worst part of the whole trip to this Chuck E Cheese location was the food poisoning I received. Other members of the birthday party had the same issues. I had an impression of Chuck E. Cheese as being a sort of grungy, dark place where kids ran wild and parents fought one another with knives sometimes. (According to multiple news reports, the last part has happened with curious frequency.) This place is none of those things. It's clean, and the booths are set throughout the play area, so kids can easily play and eat. All of the games are a quarter, which is amazing because many of them would be at least a dollar at a regular arcade. The pizza is decent - not the best, but it's not mediocre. Only complaint is that the soda machines only have Pepsi, and not even Dr. Pepper. It's also nearly deserted on weekday mornings. It's a great place to take a toddler because there are a lot of rides and games they can manage. The show area is pretty lame compared to what it was when I was a kid, and they don't have the game where you use a hammer to hit the things that pop up. But other than that, it's a huge improvement from what I remember, and it's not a huge investment to spend a couple of hours. read more

Took my toddler expecting he would have the same experience as I did as a child. Upon entering I took him straight to the bathroom to get cleaned up to eat and it was trashed. Probably hadn't had a walk through in hours. Took him to the table to eat, looked around for a high chair, didn't see any so he was stuck in the booth w me which is nearly impossible. Although the pizza was good, which surprised me from what I had read from other reviews.. The rides were dirty, some were broken, and after hours of play we only had enough tickets for a small plastic mouse. Returning to Chuck E Cheese approximately 25 years after my last visit, this time with my own child, was interesting. Some of the games I still remember were still there, which was cool. I was sad to see that, although Chuck E is still singing up front, the whole crew with the chickens etc. are gone, its just the mouse. We brought my son for his first birth celebration (I know, I know, it was really just for me) and we were super impressed-- very clean place, nice and helpful employees, working games. It's no charge to get in and each game is only one token (a quarter) so it's a pretty affordable day. The pizza is excellent and I was very happy with the security-- you can only leave with a child if you and the child have matching stamps on your arms that can only be seen under a black light. They take this very seriously, as when my husband tried to leave with my son he had to come back and get me, as he did not have the stamp. Love it. All in all, very impressive. If you are going to have a small party that you do on your own, know to get there early. We got there at 11:00 Saturday morning and all the tables were already reserved for the day. Which is fine, considering they let you bring in your own cake, decorations etc. with no fee, just something to keep in mind. We will definitely be back. read more

It's been over 20 years since I've set foot in a Chuck E. Cheese's. I remember back when it used to go back n forth between Chuck E. Cheese and Showbiz, and back then the pizza was amazing and they had real deal arcade games, ball crawls, skeeball galore and lots more mascot entertainment. But times have changed and so has the entertainment experience for kids. I went here with my fiancé at the time, and her twin daughters. And like me when I was their age, their eyes would light up when they hear the words "Chuck E. Cheese"so I can kinda share in their enthusiasm! We walked in and right away I could see just how streamlined things have gotten. They have these fun packages that you pay for and of course you'd be silly not to buy one of the bigger ones because of the perceived value you're getting(but you're really not). But it's all good.. they're a business and they have to make their money. The place has gotten much safer because they stamp the kids now and the guardians, so the stamps have to match before the kids can leave. In this day and age I guess you can't be too careful. Once you get past what feel like the gates of Mordor, prepare for hell to be unleashed upon you!! Legions of screaming kids running around like little turd goblins running around, high on high fructose corn syrup, pizza and prize games surround you at every turn. You kinda feel doomed, but if you're cool enough to check out of adult life for a minute and be a kid yourself the place ain't so bad. I spent quite a bit of time carrying my kids around on my shoulders going from game to game, asking them what they would like to play...I would run around and chase them and help them get as many tickets as they could while other parents looked at me like I was crazy but I didn't care. The place is already a madhouse, so midas whale join in on the madness. My finance's daughters had a great time and that is really all I care about. Sure the place could use some work when it comes to their food, but if I want good pizza I can wait and go to one of my favorite places for that. That's why I am not too tough on this place. I just wish they brought back the arcade games but kids nowadays don't even know what those are anymore. I have very few complaints.. pizza and enthusiasm. It's not what it used to be. It's pretty much the same thing as Cici's buffet pizza, which as we all know is not that great. And the employees look and act like they hate their jobs, but I was too busy having fun with the twins to care. My fiancé went ham on the salad bar.. so I can't really comment on that. Overall I got what I paid for. A great evening with the girls I love, and when it was over they knocked out to sleep in the car.
