My family reserved The Grand Plaza room for 30 plus people. The size of the room was perfect to accommodate us all and there was enough seating in both dining chairs and cushioned sofas. The music in that area was very faint which I thought was being drowned out by the many of people we had in our party but even when the talking was to a minimum, we still couldn't really hear the music. Most bowling alleys have the music up loud enough to set you in a party mood. Of course, there was a lot of food ordered which meant there would be empty food containers but no one ever came to clear the tables of the pizza and wing trays within the 2 hours that we were back there. The only time I saw anyone was when the lanes kept getting stuck. They got stuck at least 6 times before a match was even completed! At one point, we had to wait at least 12 minutes before anyone came to reset it. We were never told why but we weren't able to enter names on the board. With 6 people to a lane, it was chaos trying to remember who's number belonged to who. Maybe this wasn't a good experience for me because we had so many in our party so I'm not going to count them out just yet.

Fun place for all ages! The staff was friendly and helpful. We got a pretzel with hot cheese and cheese sticks and it was all exactly what we wanted.

We attended an adult birthday party for one of our friends. Our group had a private room (The Grand Plaza) with 6 lanes, 3 big screen TVs above the lanes (you can request what you want to watch). our own ball rack, a buffet table, dedicated room waitstaff and even our own private bathrooms (1 for men, 1 for women). Our waitstaff were fast and very nice, the selection of adult beverages was great (full bar), the chicken wings and sliders were good, the room space was perfect for our group of 25-30 people and the seating space was great. There was a terrible smell near one of the tables. One of my friends and I noticed it immediately. It was like a mixture of old beer and feet. It was only noticeable in one small area under a table we were trying to put our purses, but it was enough to mention. I hope they take notice of this review and do something about it. The facility also had a small arcade, a laser tag room and plenty of regular lanes for bowling. The shoes seemed pretty clean. I suggest sizing down 1/2 a size since they get stretched out with multiple feet. All in all, we enjoyed our time.

We came here after main event, dug out and the mini golf place was PACKED. It was comfortable in here, got a pool table while we waited for our bowling lane. They also have an arcade area and a bar. It was super fun and they have a lot of specials throughout the week! It was clean and very family friendly!!

I love this place. It is so much fun and has sooo much to offer. It has amazing deals all week which is a plus! Bowling is fairly priced and they even have a private area for parties/events. The laser tag is so much fun. I will say I do wish they had more to offer in the arcade area as far as games, it is quite small and not many choices. It is almost like a movie theater arcade. They have about 7/8 pool tables 2 are located near the bar for a more adult area. Theres also a jumbo jenga set near the bar as well as a set up for darts. The food is actually really good with a slight overpricing i feel but for the conveniency who really cares? Another thing I will say I noticed has changed ( because my family and I are regulars) is we have seen a downfall in the drinks at the bar. I know all bartenders are different but I just feel like theres no effort into making the drinks. Other than that this place is so cool and fun for all ages!

I come here often for bowling, so I was surprised I have not written them a review. I prefer coming here because they have specials almost everyday - some specials during the day or late night bowling specials. The price can't be beat from what I've found in the area, and although it's nothing fancy - it serves its purpose. They have bowling, small arcade area, laser tag, billiards, and I think VR games too. They also have a bar area and food concessions. We like to come for the late night special because it's about $11 per person to bowl from 9:30pm-closing. This is sometimes hit or miss because if you come one Friday or Saturday night - come early and be prepared to wait. We've waited as long as 2 hours for a lane before but they do text you when it's you're turn which is nice. We've also done the all day pass which is worth it if you like to bowl during the day and you like to bowl for more than just 1-2 games. Bar drinks here are okay and we get them occasionally when we come here. As for food, we have tried and would recommend the Buffalo wings, Buffalo chicken pizza, and their curly fries. If you're looking for a spot to have some fun on a date night or a family outing, this is a great spot to consider. I definitely recommend them.

My family has been coming to this location for years. It's our go to for birthdays, baby showers and just pigging out on pizza and drinks. They have 30 lanes with automatic bumpers for kids. The seating is a little tight but it's not bad. There is laser tag, video games and pool. A bar with lots of TVs for the grown folks and good food. I love their pizzas!!!! Service is always quick and friendly.

This is my favorite bowling alley so far, shot my first ever 234 and will continue to bowl here! Everything is price friendly and the food is really good!

Service was nice and helpful at the front and for food at our table. One can choose to have the side rails or even an aiming device that looks like a little slide for the bowling ball. The technology is really cool, as there are graphics to show how to hit all the balls and replays, and classic graphics of the old days still make their appearance :P The pins are attached to strings, so resetting for each turn is faster. The food selection was better than expected but still just okay-- the pretzel was my favorite: soft, served warm, but not much taste beside straight up salt crystals (but it did come with sharp mustard on the side). The highlight is definitely the gameplay over the food, but they are nice snacks in the meantime. Really liked having hand sanitizer at the table too! Balls and tables and shared with your neighboring lane, and we definitely needed a bigger table just for a few dishes and drinks. The bowling shoes felt nice and didn't look super worn out like they usually do. Instead of those plastic hard chairs, there's an improved cushioned couch, but ours was tearing and the tear was pretty uncomfortable to sit on. Would recommend reserving in advance! Whether for a little party or date for a bit of competition, Bowl & Barrel is a solid spot for bowling. Would go elsewhere after for a real meal though!

This place serves food, drinks, and has plenty of games! You can either buy your tickets in person or online beforehand. It's $12 for entry and you can stay as long as you want and come and go with unlimited game access. From what I can tell, some days have specials. Only additional purchases are food and drinks, obviously. They have pizzas, quesadillas, salads, dessert pizzas, and pizza burritos. I tried that last thing because I had never heard of it -- think of it as like a glorified hot pocket. It was delicious! I had a salad to balance things out, and I'll surprised by how hefty it was! Since I had never had their cider before, I decided to do a flight of five. When I placed my order, I was expecting them to give me a tray of five 1 oz pours... But instead, they told me the flight will consist of five 5 oz cups.... WHOA. So I grabbed the first two and had to come back for the rest after I finished. Every single one was delicious, but I really liked the mango habanero and the one with the coconut. Now, the games... I rarely come to a barcade that has TWO Guitar Hero setups. And they had plenty of classic cabinets, air hockey, Mario Kart, shooting games... Claw machines... It was quite epic. By the way, the claw machines did cost extra, and I peeped a party room in the back that had those interactive team floor games! That would be fun to reserve for a special occasion. This place really impressed me. If you enjoy games in a bar setting, I would recommend this spot if you are in the Houston area.

I've been there with a group of adults and also with a group of kids, and just note that while it's totally fine (and very fun!) for kids, it's probably better for adults--there's no kid security check-in at the front, and the building is very big, with lots of games. We ordered a pizza from a touchscreen by a food window, and the pizza was actually pretty good, much better than I was expecting at an arcade. The downside was that, in the lunch rush, it took 30-40 minutes for that one pizza to come out, though you could tell they were individually making each item in the big pizza oven. If you want drinks, you separately order those at the front, near where you check in, which is a little odd to have two separate food/drink ordering spots. When we walked in, we paid for a wristband, which gave "free" access to all of the arcade games, except for the claw machines, which required you to buy an extra card.

Simple in theory, brilliant in execution, and one that no other venue has successfully replicated since. The space was gorgeous. The ample dining space, dedicated private rooms, and gourmet bowling alleys across the place was a sight to behold. This experience cost a pretty penny, which is partially what doomed them in the first place. As a brunch destination, it was a hot mess, largely due to their staff which had a hard time to keep up with the demand. The waits without reservations were brutal and even ones that arrived with reservations would still have to wait if the seating arrangements weren't done properly. The food itself was solid, featuring premium items like prime rib and mean herb roasted chicken, along with smoked salmon, shrimp cocktails, and even a dessert fondue. Throw in a few pasta + pasta dishes for the kids, along with an omelette station. At $35, this was a good value. The bowling experience was always their best asset. Lane reservations were a cinch, and the bowling balls were always quality. The area was well maintained and had a decent amount of seating for groups. Shoes and socks were always included in the $20 per person/per hour deal, which for River Oaks standards is on par price wise. While they live on in other cities, I do think Pinstripes was onto something in Houston. While it may not have fully materialized into what they envisioned, it did lay enough ground work to see the possibility was there. Here's hoping they find another home in H-Town in the near future.
