We stumbled upon this gem when leaving a bakery and omg!!! Had the best spontaneous date in here with my husband! Can't wait to come back!

This is my favorite arcade spot in Katy! I love the whole concept of it being only claw machines, it's unique and so much fun. The staff is always walking around to help or rearrange items when needed, which I really appreciate. It's definitely a spot the whole family can enjoy. I recommend coming on weekdays when it's less crowded. Pros: Clean facility, friendly staff, and plenty of parking. Cons: It can get pretty pricey.

First time going to Claw City on a whim after shopping at h mart and having dinner. Needed to walk off the 10 lbs of food i devoured. When walking in and looking around, I had no idea what to do. No one greeted me and when asking how this place worked originally, it was like pulling teeth to get any answers. I actually went up to the manager by accident not knowing who to speak to and she just seemed bothered and shoved me off to someone else who was also little help. Lucky I ended up finding the machine that is self serve to get tokens to play the machines. I think it is a fun date idea and it's a lot of fun. However, the money you are dishing or for these very cheap items is not worth it. Great, new fun idea though!

Super cute spot and so much fun! This place is perfect for a fun date night or night out with friends, or even if you have kids!!! The claw machines do get addicting. My sister and I both won a little stuffed characters. It seemed pretty new when we stopped by. Can't wait to come back had lots of fun!!!

I usually have fun at claw machine places but Claw City ain't it. I like to look at prize options before playing, and unfortunately I did not pay attention to the number of tokens needed for each machine; THREE for a chance to win a typical plush ($10 for 18 tokens). Also some machines had repetitive prizes. The claws had very loose grip; plushies would literally keep dropping. The worker was friendly offering to reposition the plushies around. Also there were a variety of games to win prizes (ranged 2-4 tokens each). I'll probably just stick to Bellaire claw machine places in the future.

this is a great spot, with a large amount of claw machines where you can win many different plush toys, and you can then even trade in the item you've won for a larger prize. overall the place is clean and the staff is friendly and attentive

Claw city is a great concept. They have a good amount of claw machines. The claws are not that strong. There was plenty of times that I picked something up and it fell out. The place itself is rather small... and I noticed that they don't have a good variety of plush toys. Lots of the machines were repetitive. The kids will have a good time though.

Pretty neat place where you can blow a whole buncha money. I love the different setups and colors involved in the faculty. You'll notice the remnants or if you want, the evolved entity of a 90's arcade. You'll see prizes in behind the counter and a coin (token/credit) machine nearby. Rest assured, this place is a money pit and you'll have a lot of fun bleeding out of your pockets. $50 dollars goes by quick for stuffies that cost them a dime a dozen. I really can't fault them as they're making bank on these things. Regardless you do have a buncha fun. If you're struggling mightly hard and bleeding money for one stuffy, the staff will go into the case and help you out by dislodging it so you can grab it more easily. TBH i really love that. We got the VIP card so I think we'll be back.

With all of these claw arcades popping up I had to try out Claw City to see how it stacked up. Located in Katy Chinatown around the circle from Claw & Fun. The store is largest, give you more breathing room compared to other arcades. Also has the most machines but prizes are repeated. Speaking of prizes I found them to be lower quality than others, but there are a few good looking ones. As for the machines, the claw drops and pulls up so quickly that prizes often swing out of the claw. Thankfully the staff are incredibly helpful and willing to rearrange prizes to help you out. Bought 30 tokens for $20, making it $2 per play since it's 3 tokens for each machine. As for how Claw City stacked up, I found it to be the most expensive arcade in town. Also, while anecdotal they had the lowest win rate in my experience with 2 prizes for $20.

I know a lot of these claw machine places import mass quantities of cheaply made knockoffs. I don't mind that. But they had really well-faked Sunny Angels- I feel like that is a bit dishonest. I'd rather pay more to win authentic things. When the boxes look exactly the same, it becomes hard to differentiate. The plushes would be my choice to go for them- because I can easily tell knockoffs. These blind boxes are difficult- so shame on them for putting out fake ones.

This is newly opened in Katy so of course I had to try it out. The VIP program puts your coins on a card and gives you a "bonus" each refill. I *ahem* have a problem so of course I became a VIP for the min $100. Customer service is very nice. The layout and most of the toys were nice. Lots of duplicates for now since they are so new. The quarter pusher is dangerous! So why the 2 stars? Let's break it down. - each machine is noticeably rigged. I'm ok with some deception but these aren't cheap. Each machine takes between 2-5 coins to play and you would have to play it a few times before you can win anything. I went thru $100 in under 10 min. -most toys aren't worth the expensive play. To win the Member's mark chip costs $2/play. Easier to win but why would I want to put $2 to win a $0.20 bag chip I'll stick with Clawmania and Craftland where it's only $1/play even if it's a bit rigged and crowded.

This place ideally works best in groups of 5, but we saw many combinations of families, friends, date nights, etc. We simply reserved online, checked in at the desk, put our stuff in a locker, scanned our wristbands, then went crazy trying all of the different game options. There is a variety of teamwork based games, competitive individual games, strategy, physical, speed, and mind games available. My personal favorites were mega grid, sequence, asteroids, and basketball. I won't give them all away though because that's part of the fun is seeing what all Activate has to offer. Overall, Activate is guaranteed to be a good time. My friend group can get competitive so we got into it for sure. My only small complaint here is that when this place gets busy, you'll have to wait for a room to open up. Come during off peak times and it's literally endless fun, enjoy!

Games involve running, jumping, throwing balls, maneuvering around lasers, etc. Each game is in its own room and scores are kept on your profile. You can compete as a team or against each other. Max capacity of each room is 5, so if you have a group bigger than that, you'll need to split up. If you decide to bring your kid, I recommend they be able to do things like throw a ball somewhat accurately, toss a basketball in a hoop, or be able to reach high enough for some interactions. I know my 4 year old won't be able to do most of these, but can't wait until he grows bigger to be able to. Some of the rooms had little quirks that needed addressing. For example, the laser guns did not work for us, one of the stepping tiles didn't react, one of the screens had the touch screen keyboard pulled up accidentally (covering half the screen). Make sure you wear athletic clothing and stretch before going. Fun place for team building, fun date, friends hangout, or just letting the kids burn energy.

Pros: - Making reservations was easy and the staff was really helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. I asked a lot of questions because I've never booked a birthday party like this at Main Event, or anywhere in general. - We got a party host to help transition and communicate with us throughout the 3 hours we were there. This helped because she kept us up to date about our rooms. She even carried our cakes, party favors, and gifts to our room while we were bowling. - She was also very sweet, patient, and kind. She never had an annoyed or frustrated look on her face. She did things with a smile the entire time! - Probably because we had a large party, but we had our meal in a private room, instead of one of those long tables. This made it more intimate, spacious, relaxing, and quiet. It also helped keep the kids together because there were 20 of them! - The sliders, fries, and fruit (we had orange slices) is the biggest bang for your buck in my opinion. The fries were amazing! They were the perfectly salted and crispy. The sliders were a tad dry and really needed condiments. However, I was glad that they had another option besides pizza. - During cake time, our party host provided a lighter and even cut the cakes for us. - We were provided lockers to store the gifts so we didn't have to carry it around during the arcade time. - The three hours of activities and food combination was the perfect amount of time. The 500 VIP points was also helpful so my boys could grab something from the store to make their birthday a little more special. My boys and their friends had a LOT of fun! Cons: - We only had one party host to accommodate 30+ people, so you can imagine how slow service was at times. She did the best she could, but I think having another person would have helped. We had unlimited drinks, so she was constantly getting our drink orders. I was so thirsty at one point, but felt so bad for her that I didn't even ask for water. - We had 1 hour of bowling before we headed to the private room for food. I think it would have been easier and better if it was fully supplied. There were no napkins, utensils, or condiments. The pizza was already there and we were just waiting on the sliders, fries, and fruit. Once the first set of sliders and fries came, we started to serve with our hands and used plates as tongs to grab the fries. It wasn't until several minutes later when the second set of sliders/fries came that tongs arrived. - Also, the party package said that there would be condiments on the side, but nothing was provided. We had to ask for ketchup twice before it came. I think to make things easier, the party host should have been provided a rolling cart to carry multiple things so she didn't have to keep running back and forth. Also, Main Event should really consider providing pitchers of water/drinks so we can serve ourselves. It would have been a lot faster and more efficient. - The math wasn't mathing when it came to the sliders. I paid for 18 kids, but we got 32 sliders. So either we got extra sliders, or we were missing 4 sliders. In the end it didn't matter because the amount of food was enough. - We are not allowed to bring outside food so we HAD to purchase extra food for the parents. We got three pizzas and it was so expensive! It was basically $60. - I did not anticipate having to pay for service fees/tip. I wasn't angry about tipping my party host. I think she did the best she could and deserved a tip. I was just surprised about the service fee and felt put on the spot about tipping. Like I said, I've never done this before. Basically it made everything about $100 more expensive. *The cons are mainly because of the price and hiccups we had during our time of eating.* Overall, the place is super expensive. $17.99 a kid is not bad in general because it includes 1 hour of activity, food, and $10 play card. However, it does add up quickly when hosting for a birthday party. I think it would be more reasonable if the price went down if you have more than 10 kids or something. What makes it incredibly expensive in the end is the service fee, tip, and having to pay for extra food. I think for the price you pay, the service could be a lot better and more organized. This is speaking in general, and nothing against our party host specifically. The place was PACKED when we went. However, since the place is gigantic, it wasn't that crowded when you walked around, which was nice. If anything, it added to the fun and festivities. In the end, my boys had a great time and so did their friends. I didn't have to clean or cook, so that took away a great deal of stress as a mom. Would I ever do this again? Probably not, unless there was an amazing deal going on.

The venue isn't big and there are no party rooms so don't come in here expecting that. I wanted something quick and fun because come on, what adult wants to stay at a kids party that long? This was perfect! Win, win for everyone. They provide a party table, decorations, eatery supplies, and goodie bags. I opted for open reservation meaning our party took place where other customers can walk in which I didn't have an issue with. For extra, you could book a private hour just to get that time for yourselves and after it's open to the public but you can still continue your party if they don't have another reservation after yours. The place is super clean, they have 2 bathrooms, both clean and cute. The decor is super fun and cute, perfect for photos. I would definitely book them again and I know my friends also want to book them for their kids!! They even said they would come over here over claw city on just regular days. My only suggestion for parents if you want to do this, keep your menu simple and quick for clean ups. I got a small cake because let's face it, nobody really eat cake anymore. I got some canes chicken, pizza, small cake, some juice boxes and called it a day. Everything worked out how I expected, easy cleanup! I didn't want to leave a mess or have the staff deal with too much. I made sure the kids ate first, bday cake and song, photos, before they were allowed to go crazy. Also no birthday candles!
