Couldn't ask for a better experience at Chroma with Jamie. Honest and patient, I came in initially booking one type of service but after a mini-consultation and just going back-and-forth on what I imagined for myself, she advised and adjusted as necessary and gave me an honest quote, without any surprises. She gave me an amazing cut, fixing some haggard experiment by a family member of mine and brightened up/added some new color to an old balayage from several months ago. Even when my hair came out much lighter than desired, she offered to continue toning it down until I was happy with the shade, including returning to the salon if I for some reason still wasn't satisfied. Either way, I really appreciated that it wasn't just a courtesy offer and she truly cared about my experience with her and at the salon! Very rarely do I leave a salon not only feeling like I not only got my money's worth but also feeling like I just made a new salon-home, even if my actual home is in Capitol Hill. Looking forward to my next visit back! read more

I woke up loving my hair for the first time in about 20 years! I have extremely fine hair, and used to get permanents for body. Every stylist for the past 2 decades has talked me out of perms as they are "out of style and I can achieve the same results with product and styling". I can not. I lose curl throughout the day, and spend a fortune trying every product imaginable, only to end the day with straight hair that looks messy. On a whim, I stopped by Chroma Edmonds and had a consult with Tina. She agreed a perm and good cut would be a good solution for me, and I took advantage of a cancellation and got the perm that day. I could not be happier. My hair is softer than before the perm, the cut is fabulous, and most importantly, I feel good about my hair! I even got two complements on it the second day, after sleeping on it and not even shampooing and styling. Thanks Tina! You are the greatest!! read more

I was looking for a new cut. After having thin and finer hair between shoulders and a bob cut for years , I needed help. One that would help me feel and look fresh. SHAWN helped me achieve just that. I went in knowing I wanted a shortcut. I shared with him some ideas that I liked and then told him what I didn't like and he ran with it. Even if you're not looking for a shortcut, he knows how to cut hair with precision and thoughtfulness. He took his time figuring out the nuances of my hair. My hair is incredibly easy to work with and style now. In the past, I've had styles that have been professionally styled and then was never able to recreate them at home. Not everyone is armed with three flat irons and six attachments for the hairdryer. And you may never want to be. I highly recommend you trust him because he clearly knows his stuff. read more

Chroma has gained a valuable asset with SHAWN coming on board! He's styled my hair for two years before joining Chroma and I would make him my stylist for life if I could. My hair is postpartum thick (I have thick hair to begin with), wavy and somewhat wild. He managed to tame my hair while leaving it chic and wonderfully bohemian all at the same time. This is no easy feat! Furthermore, he relaxes you with the most wonderful scalp massages and goes out of his way to relax you. He's always been extremely attentive and looks at my hair with fresh eyes every time while remembering my exact preferences. With Shawn you truly get a "Master Stylist" while not having to mortgage anything to pay for his expertise. I would highly recommend Shawn to anyone as he's very versatile in his skill set and a pleasure to be in his company. read more

I followed my stylist Amy to Chroma Edmonds when she joined their team in April. Their other locations have excellent reviews and this new one did not disappoint! Salon has a clean & inviting atmosphere with friendly staff. Easy (free) parking lot too :-) Amy is the best! She's very good at listening to what I want for my hair & does a great job fulfilling my expectations. I have naturally curly hair that I wear curly or straight sometimes. I'm happy with the service Amy provides and that she's very efficient with time. I'm always done in 2 hours or less, which includes a haircut/color/partial foil and a blowout/flat iron on my curly locks! I've noticed my hair also feels and looks much healthier since I've been with Amy/Aveda product salons these past two years. read more

I had the absolute pleasure of getting my hair done by Tiana, and she is a gem! She's hilarious and a blast to chat with, but she also has impeccable taste. I came in looking for an asymmetric bleach color block style, and Tiana absolutely nailed it. She was fantastic at listening to what I wanted, guiding me through the process, and helping me choose a style and color that perfectly suited my face and preferences. Tiana's expertise shines through in every step of her work. If you're looking to try something fun and bold with your hair, especially if you're into color blocking, Tiana is your go-to stylist. Highly recommend her to anyone wanting to step up their hair game! read more

I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience at Chroma Salon. I have had some very sad experiences, so allowing anyone new to do my hair is extremely nerve racking. I saw a girl by the name of Jaime, and she did a wonderful job. From the moment i walked in the door she was very attentive. I explained what i was looking for with my hair color, and she did exactly that. She could sense my nervousness and did everything she could to make sure i felt comfortable. Jaime kept her professionalism while also being very personable, allowing me to relax and enjoy my "mommy time". I will definitely be going back to her for myself, as well as my daughter. read more

Finding SHAWN at this salon is one of the best things to happen to me this year! Not only is he a joy to talk with, he's very good at what he does! I have very straight, thin hair that is the bane of my styling existence, and he really knows how to give it volume, curl and lift. He listens to what you have in mind and gives you honest suggestions on what can be done. Most recently he took my dark brunette to a rose gold and he hit it out of the ballpark with the color depth and accuracy for what I wanted! Cannot recommend him enough, nor this Chroma. Everyone in there is incredibly nice and helpful! read more

Jaime was my stylist a couple years ago, but when she moved from Mill Creek I decided to try another stylist so I wouldn't have to travel as far. After trying about 6 or 7 different stylists at a few salons in the last couple years with mixed results, I contacted Jaime for an appointment at Chroma in Edmonds. I'll never stray again! She nailed the cut and color. The balayage she did brought my dull hair back up to a bright blonde with lots of dimension. She also gave me a great cut. My hair feels much lighter and still healthy. I am so happy with the results and can't recommend her enough! read more

I had a fantastic experience with Chroma! I rarely dye my hair and came in feeling a little nervous. Amy made me feel so comfortable and welcome, and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. She reviewed what I wanted and addressed my concerns -- I had no doubt she knew what she was doing. My hair turned out amazing, just in time for the Beyonce concert :) Cat at the front desk was awesome as well. I was able to schedule so easily, and she even went out of her way to get my boyfriend in at the same time as me! read more

Nicole did an amazing job cutting and styling my hair for a friend's 50th birthday gala. My hair, which is poker straight, looked beautiful in loose curls that lasted all night! Nicole was meticulous and a perfectionist, which I absolutely appreciated! In addition, Nicole is such a nice person, and I enjoyed talking with her during my 2-hour appointment. Chroma is a lovely salon that smells great and makes clients feel welcome. Thank you, Nicole, for making look like a supermodel!! I will definitely be back! read more

Where do I even begin? Tiana is not just a hair stylist; she's a magician with scissors and color! Every visit to Tiana's chair leaves me feeling like a million bucks. Her attention to detail is impeccable, and she always listens carefully to what I want, offering expert advice along the way. Not only is she incredibly talented, but her warm personality makes every appointment feel like catching up with a friend. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair. Tiana, you're a true artist! read more

I have gone to Denise for over 4 years and not once have I been disappointed. I have a lot of hair that takes a long time to process so she always makes sure she books extra time to accommodate that. I love my blonde hair and she always makes sure I don't get yellow. She takes her time and it really shows. My hair always grows out nice and evenly which makes her job easier in the long run. If you're looking for someone talented, honest and sweet, Denise is your girl. read more

I've had Tina, Amy, and Jamie do my hair services and they are all wonderful! Everyone here is set on doing a good job and willing to work with your requests, crazy as they may be. The lady that sets appointments, Catherine, is always very professional and friendly, she will also help work out any scheduling conflicts between you and your preferred stylist. I've been going here since it's opened and I've never left disappointed! read more

Denise at Chroma in Edmonds is a talented hair designer. She changed the way I had been coloring my hair and gave me a look that makes me look ten years younger. She listens to what you want, and offers suggestions as needed. My haircut is exactly as I had wanted. I followed Denise here from another salon--she's that good. A true artist who will help you find or refine your look. Thank you Denise! read more

I've been seeing Amy at Chroma Salon for a few years now and she is AMAZING! About once every year before summer I get a light balayage from her and it always turns out exactly the way I want it to. Every employee there is very nice. I'm always offered water or tea before my appointment and this is a nice touch that I appreciate. I'll definitely be going to Chroma Salon for a while, maybe forever! read more

Shawn does it again! Have left a review before, and this is an update. Went to Shawn again for a change of color. Went from Rose-Gold to Smokey Purple. Could not be happier! Shawn reviewed pictures with me of what I wanted, made some suggestions, and then the color seemed to come out as magic - better than I had anticipated! Thorough, fun, and worth every penny! I love this salon! read more

After some months of suffering a dry scalp condition and even with a touch of sunburn, I opted for a scalp treatment with Jaime. This treatment was fragrant- as Aveda products seem to be- gentle and thoroughly conditioning for both my scalp and hair. I can recommend having this as a corrective and indulgent service to keep your scalp in tip top condition. JS read more
