Yes, you know you are on your way up for a treat. Once you enter the well designed, clean space, the relaxation continues as you are checked in, offered a drink and head back into a room. I was with Carleigh so I continued to get the amazing view of the sound as the ferries shuffled people from side to side. Then it was time, time to talk about my nearly impossible to diagnose allergies and struggles I have had for around 18 years. It's hard to want to go and share this information, yet again, in hopes for a solution that has not yet been found. Carleigh made me feel comfort and hope. She came up with quite a few options and some new ideas that I am pleased with. Then we did a acupuncture session that released a headache I had had for weeks. Neck, back area and the backs of our thighs, legs and feet. When it came to the front, she only did my front neck, shoulders, arms and thighs, legs and feet so nothing with the upper chest. It was definitely what we needed! Who knew my thighs and legs needed it. Even massaged our fingers! She explained the oil used as well as an equivalent to icy hot which helps to soothe and relax the muscles a bit. It really helped with my shoulder pain and neck. I called as soon as I realized to apologize & rebook the following month - stating per the policy, I understood the the amount of the 90 minute massage had to be invoiced; but that it could also be used towards the next massage. A gentleman called me back & said "We understand things happen, but we will have to invoice the gift card & you will have to prepay for the massage you booked, next month." I responded by saying "You all don't seem very understanding, at all. This massage was given to me as a gift & since I can't afford to prepay - I'll just cancel my session." This cost a lot of money. I called to explain the situation and the gentleman showed no signs of empathy. Not exactly the birthday gift or professional service experience I'd hoped for. I get being charged a percentage of the appointment, but charging in full & not applying that payment to the rebooking is so far from being "understanding". Updating to 3 vs 1 after the owner reached out, but seriously - automate reminders. Nobody would be happy about being charged $200 for a service they didn't receive, especiallywhen looking forward to it. I had a legitimate reason for missing my appointment & a little grace would've been nice. I can't afford to indulge in massage as frequently as I'd like (daily). Mollie provides one of the best massage experiences I've had. Being a wimp and somewhat anemic, I bruise rather easily. Some massage therapists I've tried have a rather brutal approach to loosening muscles and lean to heavily on their elbows. Mollie uses a gentle, circular motion that relaxes me completely and still works deeply into my clenched muscles. I always feel a couple of inches taller when she's finished. Her studio is right in the heart of downtown Edmonds, less than a block from one of my favorite coffee shops - Walnut Street Coffee (a great place to continue a relaxing afternoon). The loft space she uses is decorated like a beach cottage, and with the soothing music and just a touch of clean fragrance - I feel transported to an ocean resort. I appreciate that Mollie doesn't use overly strong scents in her oil/lotions, but just enough to clear the head. You won't regret spending an hour with these healing hands!
