I went to see Tiana for highlights during my first visit to the salon and was happy with the result. However, when it came to the bill, I was charged an additional $30+ for styling that I understood to be included. I was told another stylist had to do the styling because Tiana ran out of time. This extra charge was not mentioned beforehand, even though I had reviewed an itemized estimate that Tiana wrote at the time of making the appointment. Given that the appointment was already quite expensive, the unexpected charge was frustrating. I later contacted the manager and was eventually refunded, but it took additional time to resolve. Afterwards, I was told I could no longer schedule with Tiana and was offered appointments with other stylists instead. read more

Jaime is amazing!!!! I've been with her for about a year now and will never go to anyone else! She's taken my SUPER dark hair and gotten me to an ashy/icy blonde that I love! Jaime is always so courteous and mindful of keeping your hair healthy while still achieving your hair goals. She's kept my length and improved the health of my hair so I have the hair of my dreams. She's so chill, and as an introvert, it's such a relief to have a stylist you can vibe with without feeling pressured. This is a fantastic salon! Bright and airy with a great location in Edmonds, WA. Amber has been my stylist for a while now and this is the first time in my life I have truly liked my hair. She is so attentive and understands exactly what I am looking for in a haircut. She is a very observant and intelligent person and I feel so comfortable with her. I was so excited to come in and get my hair cut by Maria as my mom has been coming to her frequently. Upon coming in Maria was professional and kind but unfortunately did not give me the haircut I requested making me leave in distress. I wanted to get my hair cut shoulder length and gave creative freedom with my only request being I HAD to be able to put in up in a pony tail for my job and it is a requirement of my workplace. I left with a very short bob and a whole 3 weeks later I am still struggling at my job due to the lack of awareness Maria had in the importance of my hair length. While kind, I would suggest going elsewhere if you are looking for a receptive stylist who can understand the importance of what you need from them. I know I will Not be back. read more

Tiana ruined my hair. I went in with shoulder length hair for a trim and came out with an inverted bob. She didn't listen to a word I said, she just did her own thing and gave me a cut that was popular in the 80's. I look like I have a bowl on my head. I just had my second haircut, and first color appointment with Maria at the Edmonds Chroma Salon. I am thrilled with the results! The haircut was as excellent this time as it was the first time, truly the best haircuts I've ever had. The color job was equally impressive. Update from late 2021: Still not practicing COVID protocols. I went in solely to pick up products and the stylist, who was working with a client, walked over to the counter near me and the cashier, took off her mask, blew her nose, and walked (maskless) back to her customer before putting her mask back on. I didn't see her sanitize her hands. If you need to blow your nose, go into the bathroom. Wash your hands thoroughly afterwards. Put your mask back on before going back into the salon. Needless to say, I won't return here even for product. read more

DO NOT GET A BLONDE HAIR SERVICE FROM JAMIE. Unfortunately I had a really disappointing experience at this salon with Jamie. When I called to schedule I specifically asked for someone with blondes, and I was already a icy platinum blonde to begin with it was a little yellow when I went in just because I hadn't used a purple shampoo in a while, I wanted to add a little dimension to the root and still have my hair match my blonde extensions which I brought in. She turned my hair dark gray and the picture I provided doesn't do justice. So not only was it an insanely bad experience it was also highway robbery! I spent $300 dollars on a shit job. I will NEVER go back to a chroma salon again as long as I live. read more

Bummed out by the lack of communication / responsiveness from this salon. I have been trying to schedule an appt there for a few weeks. I called numerous times and left 2-3 voicemails. I finally got through today, and was left on hold for 15 minutes (finally had to hang up). The online appt scheduling didn't work on my phone, either. My review is specifically for my experience with Denise D. I've been getting my hair lightened and trimmed for a couple of years with Denise now. Denise is professional, makes you feel comfortable, really listens and does all that's possible to make you happy with the outcome of your investment in the service. She is very solid at lightening and cutting hair. I typically get my hair foiled for a well blended cool tone blonde. I understand she also does balayage and I hope to get that next - now that my hair is where I want to maintain it. I have medium to long hair and she also gives me a trim that includes shaping and thinning the weight, when needed. My natural brown is dark and warm and she's been able to achieve a cool tone for the highlights, which is 100% important to me :) What I enjoy most about Denise and why I continue to work with her, is because she is very nice, pleasant, listens to my needs and wants, and does her very best to deliver the résults or set me on a reasonable plan of how to achieve a desired look. I've been going to Tiana for years and can honestly say I never leave disappointed. She is exceptionally talented in both cutting and coloring hair. Her balayage technique is amazing. The placement of color not only looks beautiful when done, but makes the grow out more natural. Tiana also looks out for the integrity of your hair and will be honest in what your hair can and cannot handle. Sorely disappointed. I granted full authority to my stylist to do whatever she thought would look good with one caveat - that it look natural. The resulting color was blotchy and uneven. I could not immediately return due to covid restrictions, but I did reach out to them on their website. I have received no response. The "layers" consisted of 1/2" on one side of my hair. The cut & color ran $260 and I am embarrassed to go out in public. The staff, however, were nice and hospitable, serving a delicious cup of tea specially blended for the salon. read more

I have had so many bad salon experiences but this experience has definitely changed that. I went in for a cut and style, and the girl I got was AWESOME. I believe her name is Jaime but I could be wrong. Very communicative and was honest with what she could do with my hair. She listened to what I needed for my hair and did amazing. I have had two experiences with this salon and both have been extremely negative. The first time I booked an appointment with them they were running 45 minutes behind schedule. They did not call me beforehand to let me know or try to reschedule. So after getting someone to watch my kids, I show up at the salon and am told this information. At this point I can't reschedule as I already had dropped my kids off with a sitter. A simple courtesy found call was all I asked. On the second time, I called in to make but the receptionist kept interrupting and talking over me. I couldn't even get a sentence out. It was like she was too busy to listen to me and wanted me to get back to whatever else was more important. I found this so rude.
