In my opinion this place has the best traditional burger in town! I also recommend anything fried like their cheese tots or onion rings.

Drove to see Buddy Holly museum and was looking for something nearby. Found this burger place and yet it may look a bit run dwn.. Food was delicious. Had the #1 regular burger and fries w/ drink $6. If i ever come back again I'll definitely come back here again. read more

I love Christakis, its not new to me but I'm new to Yelp. Been eating here for years. Best Hamburger in town. Don't mess with anything but the burgers. The other food I've tried is OK, but if you have the chance to eat a Christakis Burger anything else is a let down. Small Mom and Pop restaurant the looks like a drive in from Happy Days. Even though it is and older establishment it is super clean. The restrooms are the nicest you will ever find in a hamburger joint.. Can't say enough good about this place. Good old Fashioned Hamburger, but--- when I asked if it was normal for it to be 87 degrees in the dining room, she said no- usually it is hotter! What? Booths were so small you couldn't bend over enough to keep the juicy burger from spilling on you. Might be a better place to get something to go. read more

Now THAT was a burger! First time customer, and they have me sold for life. That was the best burger for its price I have ever had. I got the Christaki burger and my wife got the Jojo burger. Both of us were very impressed. Not the nicest area of town but the restaurant is very nice and clean and the workers were exemplary. The burgers were very juicy and tasted fresh. They really weren't afraid to pile on the veggies. Plus, my wife was in love with their ice the whole time. I wish I could press rewind on my life and relive the past hour. read more

We've lived in Lubbock for 4.5 years now and had heard whispers about a really good "burger joint" in the downtown area. I was recently checking out Yelp's reviews for hamburgers in LBK, as I'm somewhat of a burger fanatic. When I saw the 4.5 stars for this place, I remembered the name. Was in the area today so I stopped to try it out. It was certainly good - cheeseburger w/ tots - but not great. Grilled bun, just the right amount of grease and nice, crispy tots....lots to like. Glad I got to try it...would definitely come back when I'm in this part of town. Need to see if there is a "sleeper" on their menu (CFS, steak sandwich, etc.) read more

I can say it was disappointing, after reading the reviews I decided to try it. I ordered a single burger combo meal at 11:30am and it's now noon and still no food. The reason for the low stars is because while I'm waiting for my food, I can see the lady that is cooking the burgers flipping buns and stacking the meat and bread on the veggies with no gloves on. She is wiping her forehead as she is in front of the flat top and then touching the food bare handed. How sad that this is the impression I'm leaving with. Left without the food or asking for the money back. The lady grabbed raw burgers and laid them on the flat top with no gloves. read more

I tried the special of the day in the middle of the after noon; hamburger, fries, and soft drink for about $6.50. It was great. Hot bun, plenty of fresh lettuce and tomato, big fries and lots of them. I sat inside, it was a clean, cool and friendly spot to relax in. John 3:16 is posted behind the order station. As of late across this great land of the USA there has been an explosion of gourmet, haute cuisine burger restaurants, where one can fulfill their long-held fancies of getting a portabella mushroom burger adorned with mango slices, dill infused aioli, and a wheat bun with a donut hole in the middle filled with raspberry ganache. All satire aside, sometimes all one wants is a pure beef burger cooked on an open grill that is no more than 20% lean covered with cheese, pickles, onions, and mustard and served in buttered white bun and a copious complement of handcut fries. This is precisely what Christakis delivers, and it does so within the confines of a diner feel within a stone's throw of I-27, the type of setting one should expect of such a place. Christakis is one of my favorite burgers in town and carries on the bygone traditions (as far as I am concerned at least) of what used to be great burger joints Pete's and George's. Christakis delivers something unique in Lubbock - the timeless American burger experience in a setting appropriate for the occasion. As an aside, while I have only ever tried and enjoyed the burgers, I am intentional on eventually taking advantage of a menu that includes a pastrami and ham sandwich as well as a few Greek selections such as gyros. As the name belies, the restaurant proprietors are in fact a Greek family, so it seems worth giving the Greek food a shot. read more

I stopped in after reading the other reviews. I was not disappointed. I ordered the pastrami burger and a frito pie. I was greeted by a very affable Greek women who took my order. My food was fresh and served fast. The frito was excellent and the pastrami burger was great as well. Will go back and for Lubbock it is best burger here. read more

The best burger I've had in Lubbock in a while. The buns were toasted so they were crispy, and the fries were amazing! I have recommended this restaurant to many of my friends already and I am looking forward to my next stop to try their gyro sandwich. This place has a delicious burger that is really big. If the review was on the burger alone, this would be a 5 star rating. However, i branched out and tried a fish sandwich with fries and the fish was just a frozen boxed fish patty thrown on their hamburger bun. Was not at all enjoyable. But if you are just wanting a burger I would recommend Christakis. read more

No frills, fried food. It was the only place open on our road trip- it has that going for them.

Burgers are pretty good the meat lacks flavour seems preformed and frozen. But all and all everythings ok.
