Strawberry lemon cake shake? Yes please !
Kae J.

I mean it's Portillos. If you've been to one this is the same. Pretend you are in Chicago. We got a Chicago dog all the way and a Italian beef sandwich. Also don't miss the strawberry lemon cake shake. Yes please. The chocolate cake shake is tasty too. All in all I'm very pleased this opened in Lubbock. Love it. Good food.

Grabbed lunch here, the place is super clean, brand new, and staff were very friendly. Had the Italian beef, hot and spicy, dipped. Photo does it no justice (hard to look anything but soggy when it's dipped) but trust me it's good. Bread held up well to the juice as well! You know it's good when you use a pile of napkins and still have to wash your hands when you finish. Try it, you won't regret it.

On the knife is what we believed to be the worm

Aaaaaaa there was a worm in my husband Italian beef sandwich I stupidly destroyed it before you could talk to anybody, but we both couldn't finish our food and since there was no evidence we didn't go talk to management we ordered at the kiosk service was fast and great, but the cuisine just didn't really fit our taste, bud needless to say we won't be back.

Croissant after the beef was eaten showing too much bread to beef ratio.

WHERE'sthe BEEF? Soooooo disappointed. Hopefully my bad experience is growing pains for a new location. I have lived in Chicago. I was excited when Portillo's opened in Dallas. There weee some growing pains there as well, but not like the Lubbock store. Manager was screaming at everyone virtually the whole time. Workers were not bothered by urgency. Order was slow to receive when the dining room had less than 8 people present. Hot dog bun was old and stale. Beef n cheddar sandwich lacked beef. A small glob of beef was dropped in the middle of the croissant. The small amount of beef was shocking. I did bring this to the manager's attention. He told me in essence that the Chicago stores were using too much beef and this store was going by the weight of the meat Over the years I have been to numerous Chicagoland locations, the store in Scottsdale, AZ, and several DFW stores. Either corporate has made drastic cuts or the Lubbock store is a lone wolf. The taste and temperature of the beef was sub par. Hopefully, things will improve to the Chicago standard, but not today. Food made me feel nauseous.

Good hot dogs, service was quick and it's clean and cool decor. The Chicago style hot dog is good and the sauces there are good as well.

MotoMedi Mediterranean - All of the flavors added to this falafel dish was a delight!

Some of the best falafel I've had, hands down--crispy on the outside, soft and herby on the inside. The dips are outstanding (you can tell they're made with care), and I loved the roasted veggies: cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes... all perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. Add in the pickled veggies for that tangy punch and suddenly you've built a bowl that feels both indulgent and nourishing. One of my favorite little details? The "salt and pepper" shakers aren't actually salt and pepper--they're filled with spices like sumac and other Middle Eastern seasonings. Such a thoughtful touch, and it completely elevates the meal. You're seasoning with flavor, not just salt. Moto Medi is also incredibly vegan-friendly, which I truly appreciate. Everything is clearly customizable, easy to navigate, and makes eating plant-based feel exciting instead of limiting. The organic tea bar is another big win--clean, refreshing options that pair perfectly with the food. This is the kind of place that instantly becomes a regular spot. Fast, fresh, satisfying, and aligned with a health-forward lifestyle. I honestly wish Moto Medi was everywhere, because it's proof that "fast food" can still be intentional, delicious, and good for you. Love, love, love. If you're craving Mediterranean flavors with a modern, healthy twist--this place is a must.

This may have actually been the most disappointing food I've ever had in Lubbock, I love local…read morerestaurants but this one just isn't it. This isn't to say this is the worst food in existence, but for the price point I can't recommend this place. Let me start by saying this restaurant seems to have a massive variation in the quality of its dishes. I imagine the positive reviews probably ordered some sort of specialty signature dishes as what I got was just reprehensible. Do not order the tomato soup and grilled cheese, don't even consider it. For $9 I got a small cup of soup and HALF of a sandwich, must of been pretty good for the price right?.... I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that when I accidentally burn grilled cheeses at home, they are still better in every category than what I received here. Zero flavor. The tomato soup looked really good, but also had such little flavor that dunking the grilled cheese in it actually made the grilled cheese worse. This meal would've been a tough sell if my 5 year old cousin made it for me when I was sick. My friend also gave their green beans cause they didn't want it... and I can see why, it was also horrifically bland. Also nabbed a few tater tots from the chicken steak and they were super breaded, not bad but not impressive. The "shining" star of the experience was the mulita I got as an appetizer, quite good, like a 3/5 good though, still rather dry and covered in cilantro, came with some sauce, but overall the best thing I had. The decor of the place was just baffling. High ceiling, high chairs, white walls, random TTU alumni adorning the walls, tvs with sports running. Seemingly trying to be a nice place, but the kind of nice place where you can watch the latest football game while having an overpriced beer and the worst grilled cheese of your life. The service I got was fine, on the lower side of quality (especially for the price point). I did like the brown overalls they were wearing, very steampunk. When I saw this place had an overwhelmingly positive reception, I was excited to go there, but this was one of the most disappointing places I've visited in Lubbock which sucks cause it's local. For $20 i got half a grilled cheese, worst than canned soup, and 3 mulitas (which I shared). Maybe to some they would say this was a middling experience, but have some standards for yourself people. I sincerely hope that I just had rotten luck picking the worst item on the menu, and this place is actually quite good, but that's all optimism and no reality. What I got was one star, please fix your grilled cheese. 3/15 (+ brown overalls, + mulita, -everything else) Fails in pretty much every category, I'm sure some dishes are good, but I won't revisit in some futile attempt to find one

At my Sisters suggestion, I finally tried Pot Belly after all these years. Decided to because she…read morehad a Buy One/Get One Free coupon on her "App". It was my time to pay, so I said Why Not. Save me some money. (LOL) Not that impressed. I tried the BLT. Size of the "Sub" style sandwiches are way smaller than Subway, Jason's Deli, and Jimmy Johns. Not impressed with the bread either. Too dank, hard, like stale old bread that's been sitting on the shelf for a while. DRY as patootle. Girl asked if I wanted peppers. Said Yes. Then asked if on the sandwich or on the side. Told her go ahead put them on the sandwich. Didn't really notice what she was doing at the time (Can't really see them making the sandwich behind that 6ft counter), but I could hear her scraping the bottom of the pan with her spoon as she was scooping up peppers for my BLT. I later realized she was scooping up all the trail ends up (seeds, last of the peppers, the CONCENTRATED build up on the bottom) and packed my BLT with the last of what was left in the pan. Guess she did this to get rid of the old to put fresh peppers in the pan. I'll get back to that later. Then we checked out. 2 Sandwiches, 2 .39 cent bags of chips(.39 cents if we were at 7/11), 2 Drinks. After they scanned my Sisters BOGO code, it was $30 something dollars. I looked at the Guy like Uhhh, Buy one, Get one free. Guys said Yes Sir, it's still $30 something. What in the hell?? Sandwiches a 3rd of the size than Subway, at 3 times the price. Never doing that again. Then we get home. I bit into that sandwich. What the living hell. I tasted nothing but PEPPERS. HOT Concentrated PEPPERS at that. That Girl just totally packed ALL that trail ends of that pan onto my sandwich. I love peppers on my sandwiches, but that was ridiculous. I scraped off what I could, but the damage was done. I still ate on it best I could, but the sandwich was absolutely ruined with all that pepper concentrate soaking into the sandwich on the way home. Bad first experience. But, I gave it a try a second time. This time I just had a medical procedure done. Could only eat soft foods the rest of the day. Sister suggested Soups from Pot Belly. Said OK, but NO PEPPERS this time. (LOL) Went through the drive through. Got 1 BOWL Chicken Pot Pie, 1 CUP of Potato. Close to $15. Kinda though $15 was high for soup, but you usually get a LOT of soup when ordering at restaurants, so I didn't think much of it. Didn't look in sack either on the way home. Boy was that a RIP OFF. The "CUP" is about the size of 1/2 a can of Campbell concentrate soup. The "BOWL" is almost the size of a can of Campbell ready to eat soup. I paid $15 for the same amount of canned Soup I could have gotten at United for around $3. I don't see myself going to Pot Belly ever again. I don't get the "APP" Generation that are paying these prices for such little food. Their APP gets them all sorts of rewards, but come on, is it really worth it to be spending $300 on Pot Belly's APP for $7 worth of rewards? No it is not. The APP Generation that is keeping Pot Belly in business just do not get this.
