This place is really cool and really good. I got the Shrimp Alfredo and it was a 7 out of 10. But the friendly staff far more made up for. My table got chicken fried steak and it was amazing and the fish and shrimp. We got the cheesecake and it was amazing. The strawberry lemonade... the fucking best ever!!! They have a wide option of items on their menu. My favorites are the strawberry salad, green chili spaghetti, chicken teriyaki bowl, egg rolls, fried zucchini, and sweet potato fries. Prices are very reasonable. The dining room is small and almost always packed. We have been getting food as pickup (to go) - if you do this I recommend you call ahead (or order delivery online), as it will take quite awhile if you just drive up and order. This is because they make everything after you order. Friendly service. I love supporting local business! This is one of my kid's favorite places to eat. read more

A stop over as we traveled. Staying at the City RV park. Good food. Burger and a plate of chicken Alfredo with broccoli and a salad. Nice, clean restaurant and friendly staff. What a nice place to pickup quality food while in town (Levelland). They have a nice variety of items on the menu which was important to us since having few choices traveling the back roads of Texas. We've enjoyed their burgers but their Spuds are quite a meal. With an appetizer you'll not be able to finish a spud in one sitting. We tried the Jack-Up Spud as well as the Country Fried Steak Spud and wasn't disappointed. Great flavors, loaded with meat and cheeses (gravy as well for the CFS) that will really fill you up. The seating area was clean, pleasant and not too loud to carry on a conversation. Staff is wonderful and can help suggest something if you are just not sure what to get. There is a drive thru window available to pickup call in orders if you just want to get after work. When in Levelland we'll always make it a point to have at least one meal at Something Different Grill. read more

I'm a local so have been here several times. Ordered the cobb salad, as I have multiple times. Beautiful salad but the lettuce was watery. Asked for an extra dressing and it took forever. Finally got the bill and was told it was pay at the table. I waited quite a while for my payment to be picked up as the server was gushing over the table behind me. I was alone, but usually tip well. Finally another server picked up my payment. Original serverthen came back, laid down some bills, and told me she didn't have the 82 cents in change. (which meant she shorted me) Seriously? She would have gotten a considerably better tip if she would have just given me a one and taken the 18 cent loss temporarily. I know it's hard to get help right now, but shorting people is never a good idea. Asked if I wanted a to go drink, but I had no desire to wait any longer than I already had. I have a tracker on my phone and apparently I was there an hour and a half, for a meal that should have taken about 45 minutes tops. read more

First of all let me say this is a small town in the south plains of Texas and my expectations of grabbing a decent bite were low. I was soooo wrong. From the time we stepped in until we left it was great experience. First we found a booth, I noted how clean the place was. (It has a diner atmosphere) We were greeted by Natalia, a beautiful young lady who took our drink order and she told us her favorites and was just so personable. Hubby ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl and I order the spaghetti with meat sauce. We both ordered side salads also. Meal service was quick! The side salad was pretty good size for a side salad. Fresh and plated attractively. My spaghetti was very good and tasted homemade. The garlic bread was buttery and soft toasted. His teriyaki bowl came with a choice so he chose brown rice. It was another huge portion and I even snuck a couple of bites of his so I can verify that it was good. We sat there thinking I bet everything else is good too wondering should have tried this or that ..lol They have fairly extensive menu. Burgers, wraps, Chinese bowls, baked potatoes, sandwiches, salads etc. Our meal with the extra salad and everything was only 26.00. We walked away full and happy. Service was perfect. We just regret we didn't try the cobbler.. lol I gave it 4 stars based on overall experience the 5th was taken away because of just the physical ambience. read more

I was excited to try this restaurant due to the bragging from coworkers. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries, I was told it would be ready in 15-17 minutes. I arrived to pick up my order after 14 minutes and when I opened the box and started to eat, my burger was cold, even the damn buns were cold. Fries not fresh either. But the Coke was good. I was in Levelland at lunch time for business and decided to give this spot a try. I walked in right at noon and there were several tables already seated which was a good sign. The server was fast and friendly. A+ for service. I am trying to follow a low carb diet so decided to order the grilled chicken Caesar salad. The salad arrived with the chicken, croutons, and dressing all separate. The croutons were definitely out of a bag. The dressing was bottled Caesar served in a cup on the side. One of the great things about a Caesar salad is having the dressing tossed nicely with the lettuce, but this was just a salad with dressing on the side. The chicken was good. The food at Something Different is consistently great! My husband and I have had almost every item on the menu. You can get the best salads in town, they have huge stuffed baked potatoes that are so good. Or you can get their spagettii or asian bowls for a variety. We do alot of call in and pick up. When they say 10-15 minutes util your order is ready they mean it. I have never had to wait when I got to the drive thru at the time they stated my meal would be ready. They are through in the condiments with take out. They don't forget anything. The food when you pick up or take out is just as high quality as what you get in the dining room. Im always on the lookout for small town grub that is healthier than a burger and fries. I ordered the chicken bowl with brown rice. Since i'm Japanese, i suppose i've had a few of these in my lifetime. This one was probably one of the healthiest I've ever seen. The chicken was grilled breast. The carrots, cabbage and broccoli were all steamed.and tender. The brown rice was decent as well. You could add as much or little teriyaki sauce as you wanted from a squeeze bottle. We have had bad experiences at this place repeatedly. We waited over a year to give them a try again and it definitely hasn't got any better. While waiting for our order the cook was obviously upset. I looked up and saw he was throwing a full plate of food across the room he then took both hands ran them completely down his face in frustration then went right back to handling the food. Apparently he messed up. Waitress was not attentive at all. While trying to eat our microwave meals we looked up and saw the waitress put her hand down the back of her pants to pull up her panties. She went right back to handling people's orders without washing her hands. The food was disgusting. It tasted like it was just thrown in the microwave and slopped on the plate. Very messy. I have had a restaurant before and These things are not what is up to health code. If I could leave a 0 on the rating I would. I've complained before about food not coming out of the kitchen hot. Tonight we tried again with a simple hamburger, the fries were hot but the meat it'self was not. Really concerns me that your eating left overs or something prepared hours ahead but still not warmed up enough to come out to the table hot. Only meal we've had that was all hot was the fried fish. Otherwise Nothing but nothing else has been hot when reaching the table. Also seem waitresses are at a premium as we've only had one that we felt deserved a tip as all of the others have been lacking in service or couldn't take the order correctly to start with. read more

Traveling in the area from Dallas. I travel a lot for work so I love stopping to try local spots. I'm a little disappointed, since the locals thought so highly of this place. I hate giving negative reviews, but this place missed the mark a touch. My burger was pretty good and the fries were cooked well, but they were just from a bag. I also ordered the mozzarella sticks. When they arrived I asked if they were always the very light color of tan. She said yes, but the insides were still cold. She offered to replace them, but when I declined (I was finished eating before she checked on me) she grabbed the bill that was delivered with my dinner and charge my card without offering to remove the item. Ordered a Cheeseburger, 2 corn dog plates (because there is no way to just get one extra corn dog) and a Thai bowl. I asked for the fries and waffle fries that were ordered with the Cheeseburger and corn dogs to be well done/crispy. They were absolutely horrible!
