My friend and I walked by Choux Bakery after having brunch at Cafe du Soleil. We were drawn in by the visual appeal of the cream puffs. Actually we didn't realize they were cream puffs until we ordered some. They're so cute and colorful! You really feel welcome and at home through the bakery decor and warmth of service. There is plenty of variety to choose from so as not to be overwhelming... and there are seasonal flavors! We ordered half a dozen cream puffs for around $14. Our flavors included lemon, chocolate, hazelnut, rum, and apple. The rum and hazelnut cream puffs were definitely my favorite, and I love how small they are so you can really sample and savor multiple flavors. First off, this bakery is super cute! Purchased a variety from brioches to choux and they are amazing! Got some to try after dinner but couldn't resist so I took a few bites and had to head back to get more for my loved ones before they closed. My favorite were the lemon Choux. X did not quite mark the spot for me. Strangely enough, these bite-size morsels reminded me of Honey Berry's Roti buns. Now, Roti bun lovers, don't get me wrong because I do love Roti buns, but if I wanted a Roti Bun I would have gone to Honey Boo-boo. I'm not sure if this is the true sense of a french cream puff, maybe, I'm used to the westernized version of a cream puff, however the size reminded me of a macaroon. Confused? me too. But this one did not make me "oooh la la" the way Pacific Puff does. I thought the variety of creams and "topping" were very cute. They were good but sadly not good enough to go back for $2.50 a pop. I even entertained the thought of these cuties being overly done due to the brownness and extra crispness of the choux but the entire batch looked that way so maybe that's the way it's supposed to be. I decided to order the Perry (hazelnut) and the Paul (vanilla) for the smiley face. I love custard. I found this to be not too overwhelmingly sweet and very creamy. The service was very friendly. When I got there, there was a bit of a line on a Saturday afternoon. More than half of the items on the display were already gone, but the cashier reassured us that they were being made in the oven in the back and any of the flavors could still be ordered. I live in Huntington Beach my cousin was recently admitted to the hospital near this bakery I wanted to find a place to deliver sweets to her & I called and was greeted so warmly but Laura over the phone she was so sweet and answered all my questions about grub hub delivery, she even recommended the amounts of items to fit nicely as a gift in each box although that meant I'd spend less money, she clearly cares about her customers happiness & has an outstanding view of customer service! She went above & beyond for me even not physically being inside the bakery!! I've never tried the sweets but they look so so beautiful & as the owner I'm sure she makes AMAZING sweets! Bonjour~. Just like that it's like you've walked into Paris. This tiny boutique houses the most wonderful little cream puffs ever. And when I say little - I mean itty bitty maybe 1.5 inches in diameter. But regardless these are the most delicious little cream puffs I've ever tasted. The perfect crunch as you bite through the shell, the slow ooze of the custard filling. Then the soft sigh of satisfaction after finishing that bite mm. I was only able to try out two flavors as each one is 2.50 a bit steep for my taste. We asked for recommendations and ended up trying the salted caramel and hazelnut. You. MUST. get the salted caramel. It is not an option. It was so delicious - I was amazed. After trying it the hazelnut just couldn't live up to those expectations sigh~. Yummy! Best cream puffs I've ever had, for sure! They are small (2-bite size) and make a great item to bring to a potluck or party, or even to give as a gift. I believe 6 puffs were about $13, and the box is super cute too. All the flavors I tried were good, and not too sweet, and not too creamy (I usually don't like cream puffs because it's like you're just eating a dollop of whipped cream - not my cup of tea, personally). These little guys are nicely balanced in flavor and texture. Bonus, we got a free sample of their cream-less puffs so my sister was able to enjoy a lactose-free treat as well! read more

I love everything made by passion fruits so I decided to give this place a try, Their Passion Fruits meringues is crispy on the outside, and it dissolves slowly in the mouth with light fruity scent. It would be awesome to watch a Korean drama and eating these on side \(^_^)/ We also tried their seasonal cream puffs: there was cream cheese on top of the cream puff , it taste rich and creamy. The size of this cream puff is around 1", pretty tiny but it works for one bite. The Chonuts is amazingly delicious, but it's smaller than a standard donut (The size is more like the Japanese style donuts). We tried their seasonal Chonuts, but I couldn't tell what are the ingredients exactly ( it tasted like a combination of almond paste, sesame, pumpkin spice or cinnamon? ) they change their Chonut flavors every week. I arrived at Choux Bakery about 10 minutes before it opened, because I didn't know how popular it would be. Choux Bakery is in a relatively nice neighborhood, with ample street parking and a bunch of other small restaurants along the street. The bakery itself is very small, the definition of a hole in the wall, with two small chairs up front and no seating inside. It appeared that one woman was working there, and baked the choux herself, and she was laying out the cream puffs in the case in the few minutes before the bakery opened. I purchased a box of 6 of the cream puffs, selecting 6 different flavors. I thought it was cute that each flavor had a human name associated with it. For example, the Valrhona chocolate custard and dark chocolate cream puff is named "Sophie." It was fun to select Sophie, Paul, Rachel, Perry, Lara, and Elsa as the flavors for my cream puffs. The "Rachel" cream puff was a pistachio custard cream puff with a fondant flower on top, and the pistachio flavor was excellent. I also purchased a passion fruit dark chocolate chouxnut, which is shaped like a donut, but made out of choux and filled with passion fruit and chocolate cream topped with Valrhona crunchy pearls. The passion fruit cream had a really fruity and vibrant and after eating it, my friend and I decided to purchase another one. The lady working there told us the chouxnut is actually gluten free, but they don't like to advertise that because people might think it doesn't taste good if it's gluten free. Let me tell you that there is no bakery that I love more than Choux! This place is smashing and I have already tried almost everything off the menu. The raspberry and lemon are my go-to's but the place is crazy innovative and they come out with stellar seasonal puffs all the time! Just tried the pastries from Choux! I have to say the cream puffs are really good! Refreshing, light and delicious! All the flavors are wonderful! I had lemon, raspberry, earl grey & vanilla. The filling inside the cream puffs are generous. The size of the cream puff is pretty small, definitely a bite size. I also tried the canele and it's ok...it's not really my thing. I think the texture of the canele is good but the flavor, I cannot make out what it is. Overall I highly recommend this place for amazing delicate beautiful cream puffs! read more

Choux Bakery is a cute little store. They had about 15 or so options of cream puffs all ranging from fruity flavors to chocolate and vanilla. I ordered 6 for $15 and a chocolate chonut! Each cream puff was about $2.50, expensive little suckers. The yelp photos made them look a lot bigger. They are actually small and bite sized, like others said, about the size of a macaroon. First, the cream puffs look beautiful. They kind of look like cupcakes from an aerial view and that's what I thought they were when I saw photos of them initially. They taste pretty good, nothing mind blowing. The texture of the outer parts was a bit crunchy. The filling wasn't too sweet and each cream puff had a different topping which gave the some of the cream puffs a nice crunch. We ordered the chocolate custard, green tea, rum custard, pistachio, salted caramel, and coffee. I think my favorite was green tea. I just love green tea everything though, so theres a bias. The Chonut tasted like a Eclair, but with a crunch. It was pretty good. Overall, I probably wouldn't get my creampuff fix here for myself because I think it's a bit too expensive for the size, but if you are buying for somebody else or for a special occasion then I think it's worth it because they are pretty cream puffs. read more

The outer layer is crunchy (the texture reminds me of an asian pineapple bun) while the filling is creamy and not too rich. It is my first time here and she asked how I heard about the bakery and a few friendly conversation questions. She is so nice and friendly. I was somewhat in a hurry so I didn't start any long conversation with her. I decided to get one dozen Cream puffs, a few Chonut and Mini Meringues to share with family. Laura was so kind and explained to me the cream puff flavor of the one without a sign. She also told me they were making more DAVID (S'mores) and coming out shortly. These cream puffs are amazing. Yes, it's bite size and a little expensive but I think it's worth the price (keep in mind, macarons are just similar in price). They have very cute name and design for each cream puff flavor. The creativity and of course the taste wins it all. I bought LEA (Matcha), DAVID (S'mores), SUNNY (Lemon Curd), PERRY (Hazelnut), PAUL (Vanilla), SOPHIE (Chocolate), EMILIE (Rum/Caramel), RACHEL (Pistachio) and Ben (Salted Caramel). Chonut is also great! I had the strawberry chonut. Again, very cute design and amazing strawberry filling. I love this better than cronut because these are baked to perfection. Cronuts from other bakeries are good but kind of oily. Mini Meringues Rose is my favorite. Perfection of sweetness and rose flavor. Strawberry Basil also very delicious. I was surprised with the basil flavor mixed with strawberry. Very unique! Choquette is like a no filling puff with sprinkled sugar. It's quite good. These are so much better than donut holes. I love french pastries and after trying the choux in France, I wanted to try this place to see if it compares. This place has really good choux, but def try to eat it the same day you purchase. My fav flavors were passion fruit, key lime, salted caramel and vanilla. These also had more filling than I expected. French cream puffs at Choux were pretty decent. Came to this small boutique shop last month, I got a small box of four cream puffs. There weren't many flavors available at the time I picked up but I got raspberry, matcha, lime, and another flavor (I can't remember). Personally, I feel that matcha and lime are good. The cream puffs were moderately sweet and nicely decorated. I love the packaging, simple yet elegant. read more
