I am not a salad-loving kind of girl, but Chop't is on its way to converting me. Having moved to Raleigh from D.C., I was excited when I heard Chop't was coming to Cameron Village because I was familiar with the chain. It fills a void in CV and I hope they will open other locations in the region. The service is amazing. Everyone there is so friendly. I am always greeted politely and offered a menu upon entering - you can choose from pre-made options or create your own. All of the ingredients are all chopped to your likely, creating a great texture. I highly recommend either the Santa Fe, Kebob Cobb, or Texas Poboy. The dressings are so, so good. Greek Tzatiki, Mexican Goddess and the very spicy Smoky chipotle vinaigrette are some of my favorites. Yes!! This place is absolutely delicious. Before I get into the food, it's so absolutely amazing to see how clean, and well kept this place is. They have 100 rating from the health department! Everyone's station is neat and organized and clean. None of the prepared vegetables/fruits/grains looked brown or old, all of their tools were clean, they were all wearing gloves. Excellent!! Ok now onto the food: Two salads and a kids salad was about $36 total, so it's pricey...but everything was super tasty, and very customizable. We all enjoyed our lunch, and ate every last bite. Every single veggie was fresh and crisp, the chicken was delicious and wasn't chewy or hard, the fruit was fresh and juicy, and the dressing amounts were perfect. So, I had my reservations about coming in here. When I was in college I worked at Village Draft House for a year. This was back in 2012-2013, when VDH still had two sides for seating. It's odd coming back and seeing what used to be a place I'd spend hours in totally transformed, but Chop't has done wonderful things with the space. It's really cute and trendy inside. The menu is pretty expansive, and there's a lot of choices. I built my own salad. Everything was fresh and good! The service was really quick, but being my first time that was a little overwhelming. I didn't mention the right ingredients because I felt a bit rushed, but everything came out fine. The salad was also really big. I recommend getting your salad "to-go" even if you plan on eating there so you can ditch the bowl and get it in a to-go bowl right away. I will definitely be back soon! read more

This was my first time visiting the location at Cameron Village and it did not disappoint! I was a little overwhelmed by all the choices on the menu but a friendly staff member told me about a few of her favorites and I decided on the Santa Fe. The chipotle dressing that comes with this salad is a little spicy so the staff members making the salad suggested a few of their favorites and let me try all of them. If I wanted a rice bowl I would have gone to Moe's down the street. I used to be a big fan but not anymore. It's been a while since I've been to Chopt and decided to get some today. I got the only thing I ever get (Chicken Tinga) and was hugely disappointed. They have changed the recipe (and I assume many other changes since the menu was redone since I was last there...my guess is to roll out changes that cost less money). Almost half the bowl was cheap over-cooked rice filler (it used to be a quinoa/black bean blend and it was added in a smaller amount) and there was less chicken and kale. They used to fill the bowl will the salad then place what looked like a quarter cup each of chicken and quinoa blend. Now? What looks like a cup+ of white rice with maybe 20 lentils mixed in at the bottom, then an unknown amount of chicken, then that is covered by a small layer of kale salad, and topped with dressing. I suspect that the salad is put on top to hide the huge amount of rice and the minuscule amount of chicken. I won't be back. read more

The to go containers are the s*** here. Holds my salads like a champ. Like it was molded by the gods of Olympus to contain salads in their perfect state. I almost forgot. Salads are good here. Price is a tad bit pricey for vegetables and some meat but it's expected for the "Chipotle of Salads." Tea is fresh and good though. If you're dating someone who likes salads take them here, they will enjoy it. Your wallet will only shed a tear after going here. read more

This place is tasty and I'm glad that I finally got around to trying it out. Being from up north, I'm used to Saladworks and hate that they don't have them down in the south. This is a nice alternative and will be my new salad spot. They have a nice variety on the menu, from regular salads to warm grain bowls to wraps. Great salad place. You can purchase a salad on the menu, change it a bit, or make any salad you want. Had the Chopped Steak Salad. It was wonderful. Salads average $10 but you really could make two meals of of one salad. Great variety of teas available. Loved the Blood Orange Tea. A definite repeat! read more

I don't normally write reviews for places, but this one is needed. So, I was excited to try this place because I was in the mood for a good salad. I ordered the Cobb Salad online and ordered it with no avocado and no blue cheese because I have an avocado allergy. So when I got there I had a terrible experience picking up my order from a rude customer and slightly less rude employee. Once I got home and saw the salad and I was very underwhelmed by it. There was barely any toppings on it and was mainly Romaine Lettuce. So I start eating it and I taste some avocado and blue cheese. The cheese wasn't as big of an issue, but the avocado is because my allergy is very severe. So after I take care of my medication, I contact the store and speak with the manager and she was rude and was trying to blame my reaction on me, and told me because it was an open line and cross contamination happens and she doesn't know what she wanted me to do with this information and I had to specifically ask for my money back and she didn't want to refund my money and just wanted to give me a voucher. I am still waiting to see if my money gets refunded. read more

I am usually a huge fan of Chop't but today I could not eat my salad after the chopper was sweating so profusely (wet shirt, sweat running down face, wiping sweat off face between chopping salads, etc). None of the other workers were that sweaty, and the temp was ok for me. I completely lost my appetite and my $10 and had to throw away the salad because the sweat kept haunting me. Chop't please find a task for this sweaty worker that does not involve him handling food, like sweeping or register. So disgusting. read more

We first tried Chopt when we were in Texas, and were itching to try it again when we saw it came to Cameron Village. It has a wide variety of farm fresh veges to add to your chopped up fresh salad. (We have a Diced closer to us, which is quite similar, but with a few fewer choices.). It's a bit expensive, but they give you free bread! I heard about Chopt and was in a mood for salad, so we headed to Chopt for dinner. It was fairly busy but the line was moving quickly. The biggest problem was choosing my salad because there were so many choices. I decided to get the Spicy Sonoma Caesar because I was in the mood for some avocado. Once they get all the ingredients together, it goes to the next station where it gets "chopt" and mixed together. Along with my salad, I got a bag of sweet potato chips. This Chop't might need to change its name to salad. This was my family's first time having this restaurant and we were not impressed. My husband ordered the Korean bowl and due to the pre-chopped nature of the greens, the beef was big globby chunks consisting mainly of fat. Not good. My son slightly enjoyed his, however the person making his bowl doused it with a white cteamy dressing before he could say what was what. I had the Santa Fe, but again due to the pre chopped nature ingredients were big chunky pieces mixed in with highly diced salad greens. The avocado included in the was unripe and tart. Not the silky goodness of ripe fruit. We were expecting the full Chop't experience. This was a disappointment and I highly doubt we will return. Thanks but no thanks. read more

I tried to think of a criticism and couldn't! This place is like Coldstone for salads. It can be VERY overwhelming, so I highly recommend looking at the menu and making a plan of attack before going, especially if you plan to be there are peak times. The app also allows you to order ahead, which can be a great tool for the indecisive planner! The salads are huge and filling. The restaurant is spacious with good outdoor seating. Chopt is REALLY good. We went in on a Sunday afternoon and it was very busy. We ordered 3 different salads from the menu that were all super different, but none of us could stop raving. I've been thinking about the Spicy Sonoma Caesar all week! The interior is super bright and modern and there are also several tables outside. It's not cheap - 3 salads (only one had protein) and 3 drinks was $40+, but worth every penny in my opinion. One gripe - for a calorie conscious menu they don't list the calories or contents of any of their fancy teas and lemonades at the drink station; this was frustrating after spending so much time making an informed and healthy decision on my lunch. For those of you with germaphobe husbands (or is that is me?!) they have a 100 sanitation rating!! I'll definitely be back but will probably just wash my delicious salad down with a water next time. read more

While I normally don't review chains, Chop't is a regional chain based out of the DC area. This location is their first foray into Raleigh and I am ecstatic! They offer a wide variety of salad combinations (with the base usually being Romaine) and also let you build your own. Their signature feature is that they chop up your large portion of salad in front of you into a mixed, easy-to-eat meal. I have already been a handful of times for lunch, and I highly suggest the New Mexico or Kebab Bowls. This location has a sleek interior with a beautiful dining space (some outside seating as well). Everyone was extremely friendly as well each time. Chop't really deserves its five stars; while the salad is ~10$ it is a surprisingly large portion size (its more than it looks since it is all 'chopt' up). You also receive a complimentary artisan bread slice. My one complaint is that you should be wary of items that aren't salads here. Both the chips and my drink ran me over 2$ a piece. read more

I work at Cameron Village, so I am always excited when a new restaurant moves in. Chopt has just about every salad topping that you can imagine. You can create your own salad or pick one like a Caesar or Kebob Cobb (which is my favorite)! I love that they offer meat-free substitutes for vegetarians, like tofu and falafel. The salads are huge and the give you generous portions of toppings. You can also choose to have any salad made into a wrap if you prefer. It would be nice if they had more than one salad size (like I said, they are huge). They are also quite expensive. Regardless of the quality, I find it difficult to justify paying $10 for a salad. I would have to give 4 stars for the food and service and 2 for the price. read more

Let me start that we were really happy with our salad and quinoa bowl. Great flavors, fresh ingredients, good prices. We remarked as we were leaving that we intend on putting this in our regular rotation. That being said, the order flow is a little confusing when it's busy. You order and then they have to direct you to a chopping station. Since different stations finish chopping at different rates it creates some chaos in terms of queueing. My partner and I got separated and the. No one in line wanted to allow us back together so we could pay. Seems like there might be a more efficient ordering flow. Food overall is great but the management is horrendous. Menu clearly states combo for destination salad + soup. Then they won't give you the salmon salad. Such a wide selection of things to order here and you may think oh why do we need a salad restaurant but we do! This place is SO fresh and unique. Even the drinks they offer are delicious and fresh! Best creative salads around. My girlfriend and I live in Greenville, NC but we make the drive to Raleigh and almost always stop and get some salads to go on our way back home.
