LOVE THIS PLACE! I wish there were more in raleigh They make the best salads and they're so fresh They are quick and kind and they have a nice outdoor seating patio! I would eat here every day if I could

The salad had a great mix of greens, crunchy toppings, and a flavorful dressing. I appreciated how fresh everything tasted. The restaurant had a casual and welcoming atmosphere, which made the experience even better. A great spot for a light meal.

Light orange is Mexican Caesar & right is Tex mex ranch

This place is pretty satisfying. The food just tastes really fresh so you can never go wrong with a nice satisfied feeling in your mouth after eating something (semi) healthy. I got a build your own salad with Mac and cheese. I got avacado, tortilla, egg, the chopt blend of greens, cheese, beans, chicken, and corn. With the build your own, you get to choose 4 toppings. With so many in front of you it's pretty hard to settle for 4 so I wish it was 6. Also they barely gave me any chicken. I didn't really reach my toppings till the end of the bowl too. Either way my food was $18 which is pretty pricey. The Mac and cheese was not good to me at all however the concept of eating a warm bowl of Mac while eating a cold salad is a good one. I got two dressings on the side- Japanese Caesar and Tex mex ranch. The Japanese Caesar was creamy and didn't have too much of that Caesar taste so it was really good, almost like ranch! The Tex mex ranch was just way too bitter and changed the whole salad.

I really like their kale Caesar salad with chicken, normally I don't care for kale but whatever they do to it, it doesn't taste like roughage to me! And their Caesar dressing is delicious. I always say that I'm going to try one of their more creative salads but I always end up ordering the same thing.

Tossed Cobb salad from Chopt in Raleigh

I like this salad assembly line thing that's starting to show up. Much like the sub people or the burrito people, you start at one end and add stuff to your salad. At the end, they toss it all together with dressing and you're good to go. Or you can just pick one of their "curated" salads and take it as is or customize it. I chose the standard cobb salad and other than leaving out any croutons, it was straight. Great flavor with the blue cheese dressing, chicken, fresh chopped avocado, it made for a healthy and keto-friendly lunch. Did I mention delicious? They have an app so that you can order and pay for your salad ahead so that it's ready to be picked up when you arrive. [Review 11814 overall, 1596 of 2019.]

Worst salad ever. The salad was so bland and it just really tasted like the cardboard container it was in. Chicken had no flavor either.

Their new location is very nice and spacious and there's plenty of parking too! We got the Cast Iron Skillet Cornbread, Grilled Romaine, Hearts of Palm & Lion's Mane "Crabcakes", and Southern Style Plate with BBQ "pork". The cornbread was so moist and the crabcakes were flavorful. The grilled romaine was a revelation - I loved whatever creamy sauce it came with, the candied nuts, and the smokiness of the romaine. The BBQ "pork" was probably my least favorite thing, but don't get me wrong, it was still tasty. We asked for a little more BBQ sauce to go with it and our waitress got it for us right away. The drinks were also fantastic! I got the Autumn Flare which was coconut water, housemade falernum syrup, pineapple juice, and lemon. So refreshing and yummy!

We were greeted warmly by David, the assistant, and he explained each of the available dishes on the trays stacked on the shelving unit. We chose pirashkis, flaky dough filled with meats or veggies, and plenty of yummy spices. Our two favorites were the tomato and the chicken and sausages. Mally, the owner and top chef, engaged us in conversation that felt like we were welcome guests in her home, specifically the kitchen. Mally gave us a plate of fresh greens from her garden complete with edible Nasturtium flowers. Very limited seating was available inside and the breezeway outside had a number of tables where we enjoyed our food and a cool breeze. After our lunch, we walked back to the kitchen to tell Mally how delicious everything tasted and I picked up a baklava to go. Tasty walnut and honey in layered philo dough was a great finish lunch. This woman-owned small business is worth supporting, IMO, for all the reasons above. Additional Note: Rice and stew options are available as noted by other Yelpers.

Lunch with Mom at @elementgastropub Downtown Raleigh, NC…read more My mom supporting me, means everything to me!!! We ordered the Sweet Chili Sauce wings with house ranch for our appetizer! Mom loved those! I ordered the Carolina BBQ Sandwich which was smoked vegan BBQ tossed in hybrid eastern- Western style sauce (whatever that means lol), creamy coleslaw on a Brioche bun with a side Kale Caesar Salad. Mom ordered the Philly Cheese steak which was chopped seitan "steak", marinated mushrooms, house made cheese, peppers, onions served on a soft hoagie roll. It also came with my favorite chips by Caroline Kettle chips @carolinakettle! So, glad they support local! Mom didn't really care for the cheese steak. I tried it as well & it wasn't my favorite. But, we had an amazing time for lunch on this beautiful day! oh, & I also had a Carolina Mule! After many visits, last one being 04/29/2026…read more Welcome to Element Gastropub, a wildly overgrown, unapologetically plant-based oasis hidden right in the brick-and-mortar heart of downtown Raleigh. If you've been looking for a place where the decor matches the menu calorie-for-calorie in pure, unadulterated green, you've just found your mother-nature-loving mothership. Element has one major, glaring ecosystem issue: the service operates on a timeline that makes a slow-growing redwood tree look impatient. I have given this place a fair shake several times, occupied various green velvet booths, dodged low-hanging pothos vines, and worked my way through a good chunk of the menu. Take the Chili, for instance--it's actually quite good. The re-occurring theme here is a pacing problem that turns a casual downtown dinner into an endurance test. It starts at the bar. You order 2 drinks and you watch the bartender meticulously attend to the bar with no urgency whatsoever. And the food service? It's a test of human patience. The gap between your drink order and any food order stretches so long you begin to wonder if they are currently outside harvesting the beans by hand in Moore Square. On more than one occasion, the wait has transcended "slow" and entered the realm of "disrespectful." When you plan for a multi-stop crawl night, one painfully slow venue completely hijacks the timeline and leaves the rest of the night dead in the water. Cheers!

My husband and I went on a late Saturday afternoon and we were seated immediately. We shared the Fido's Fries as an appetizer and I got the Chili Cheese Dogs as my entree. Almost everything could be made veggie or vegan so I asked for the dogs to be veggie. My meal also came with a side so I got the frickles (fried pickles). The Fido's Fries were beer battered fries, topped with cheese, bacon (we got the pork option but they have soy), scallions, & sour cream (on the side). The fries were absolutely delicious! I loved my chili cheese dogs as well. It was a very generous portion because it was two dogs and a ton of frickles. As a dog lover, I adored all of the dog art & statues around the place. The menu is even dog themed. I mean they call appetizers kibbles & bits. That could not be any cuter! There is indoor seating (with a bar) and outdoor seating. As you can probably already tell, the restaurant is dog friendly (with their outdoor area). They even have a dog friendly menu (called puppy meals). Service was superb! There is no dedicated parking lot but we easily found free parking a few blocks away. My mom is a vegan and we sometimes struggles to find creative meals when she visits. I will definitely be taking her here next!

My drink was good but I'm pretty sure the house made syrup was made with sweetener that was not cane sugar and I'm very sensitive to any other sweetener. Menu was large and I had a hard time deciding. It is a somewhat vegan place much to my surprise so I figured why not try it here because I do love good vegan option even though I do eat meat I ordered the trio of patties black eyed peas and black bean. I took a bite of each and left the rest. Three different staff noticed my untouched food but none inquired or offered replacing it or removing it from bill which to me would be a gesture of a good business practice. My companion enjoyed and loved each morsel of his crab cakes! The battered fries were great! My server was very kind and attentive.

4-1/2 stars: Great menu, great food, slow service at lunch…read more We hadn't been to Sage since its move to Durham, so when an appointment took us to that part of town, we dropped in for lunch. In my memory it's even better in the new location. There's a mix of Turkish and other Mediterranean food on offer, and it was hard to make a choice. I got the falafel/hummus wrap and my companion got a salad. There is a small menu of beer and wine available, and we got a glass of white, and a non-alcoholic beer (Dry January). Both were perfectly fine for lunch. The food was super-fresh and well seasoned. The portions were more than enough for lunch. The only niggle is that the poor woman working as a server was all alone, and one person simply isn't enough to cover the whole place. We weren't in a hurry, but people trying to pack a visit into a short lunch hour might have been cramped. Anyway, we'll be back the next time we're in Durham for lunch.

The menu includes a few options with tempeh but is mostly vegetable based, and is not full of artificial fake meats or weird fusion stuff. Ordering a sprout salad was a good decision. My vegetable stew came with some aromatic rice, and a satisfying flavor mix. Ordering tea was a good idea as well; almost everything in this cuisine seems to be lime-flavored. The overall portion size for price was not overly favorable. The location is near the hospital system and in an area with dicey parking, it does have its own parking spots outside and in an adjoining garage.
