I went to the Chopt in the Village District while I was visiting my family a few weeks ago. I was really impressed with how clean and inviting the store is. Also everyone was super helpful and the manager Mr. David Peacock was so friendly! We chatted about Brooklyn, NY because that's where I'm from and he told me that he used to live near me! This place is pretty satisfying. The food just tastes really fresh so you can never go wrong with a nice satisfied feeling in your mouth after eating something (semi) healthy. I got a build your own salad with Mac and cheese. I got avacado, tortilla, egg, the chopt blend of greens, cheese, beans, chicken, and corn. With the build your own, you get to choose 4 toppings. With so many in front of you it's pretty hard to settle for 4 so I wish it was 6. Also they barely gave me any chicken. I didn't really reach my toppings till the end of the bowl too. Either way my food was $18 which is pretty pricey. The Mac and cheese was not good to me at all however the concept of eating a warm bowl of Mac while eating a cold salad is a good one. I got two dressings on the side- Japanese Caesar and Tex mex ranch. The Japanese Caesar was creamy and didn't have too much of that Caesar taste so it was really good, almost like ranch! This was my first time at a Chopt. The girl behind the counter was really nice and patiently explained how to get what I wanted. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that great. I got a salad and the ingredients were SO cold that they were pretty much tasteless! And some things, like cucumber, are diced into such tiny pieces that you can't even taste them. I like this salad assembly line thing that's starting to show up. Much like the sub people or the burrito people, you start at one end and add stuff to your salad. At the end, they toss it all together with dressing and you're good to go. Or you can just pick one of their "curated" salads and take it as is or customize it. The interior is always clean and quiet. Chopt is what happens to some religious people when their parents foolishly decide to remove their foreskin. Don't expect to be as good in bed as me and my ilk if your foreskin has been snipped. Premature ejaculations FTW. But that's beside the point. Let's talk about tossed salad. I was very disappointed by this salad franchise when I first tried it in New York City, and now that I've tried it a few times, I just keep being even more disappointed. The price isn't terrible although it could be a lot better. The portion sizes really need to be about twice as large. Service is rarely very good and the products and dressings just don't do anything for me - I mean it's so vinegary I just can't deal with it. Like I just hate stuff that tastes of nothing but vinegar so it's inevitable. Too hard and acidic to eat. Needs to be a balance in the balsamic dressing taste. NYC version was just as bad, both were overpriced. Happy & Hale (a couple of locations in the Triangle) is a locally owned version that is 4735692 times as good. This was the first location I tried when Chopt came to Raleigh. I was so happy that we had gotten a place with GOOD! Filling salads. This particular location is located inside of a shopping center but the parking can be tricky. Luckily I ended up getting a park down from Chopt which was great. This shopping center is ALWAYS busy so you may or may not be able to find a park near the restaurant. When I first walked in there was a long line. But to my surprise it went quickly. It's always good when everyone knows what they want. They offer menus at the beginning of the line so that you can look while you wait they also have a BIG menu on the wall for your convenience. I love the color scheme of the space the blues and greens makes it bright + calming. They offer a variety of drinks and kombucha. I ended up ordering the Mexican Caesar and I added corn + beans with the extra dressing. The guy who made my salad was really nice. I am always impressed at how they can chop the salad so quickly. My totally came up to about $12 for everything. Overall this is a great place if you are looking for a filling salad. read more

Chopt is such a wonderful concept! I love being able to go in and build my own salad or choose from a suggested salad. I typically get the Palm Beach and swap out tomatoes for a different topping like hot peppers - it's so fresh and light! Also, the Goddess dressing is lovely. I enjoy how they put everything in a bowl and give it a good mix with the dressing before packing it into the container. The bread they serve with each salad (made by La Farm I believe), complements the salad well. I almost always spend around $10 on a basic salad and if you want to add protein it's at least $2 more. I think that's the only thing that keeps me from going back more, that it's a tad on the pricey side, but I sure do love the convenience and tastiness! read more

This place was delightful! Went here with a friend for a late lunch during the week to try it for the first time. I think they picked this place because although I'm not a vegetarian anymore I just don't seem to eat as much meat as my confidants, so it was nice to switch things up and dine somewhere with a focus on salads. They had very creative way of serving up the salad, chopping it up into very fine pieces while the customers watch was a nice little touch to enliven the experience. Amazing food. So far my favorite is the Thai Chili Meatball Bowl. The Chinese Chicken Bowl is great and Mexican soup. My child had the Quesadippers and loved them, she also loved my bowl. These are the things I just tried so I'm going to keep trying more. One thing about this place is that it's quick. This past summer I went to Raleigh for a little under two weeks. For dinner one night, I went to Chopt. Chopt was one of the best meals I had while I was in Raleigh. Chopt is a salad restaurant in Cameron Village. I think they have other locations as well but I went to the one in Cameron Village. I had been eating out for every meal for about a week now and so I wanted to eat something a little healthier for dinner. I went on yelp and saw that Chopt was near me and the food looked good so I decided to go there. I love salad wraps so I decided to get a salad wrap. I believe I got the Santa Fe Salad in a wrap. I made a few modifications to my wrap. The wrap was delicious and fresh! I absolutely loved it. The sweet and smoky chipotle vinaigrette was one of the best salad dressings I've ever had. I loved my wrap! The service was great as well! The line was long when I went to Chopt but I was served quickly. Overall, I absolutely love Chopt! It is a wonderful place to go to if you want a delicious and fresh salad. Every so often I remember how good my wrap was and I wish I lived closer to a Chopt. I am a Chopt regular at this location, coming at least once a week. If you come at lunch rush expect to wait but I assure you the line goes quickly. I came in occasionally around 3pm and there is hardly anyone in the store! At that time I like to enjoy my salad and do work. The salads are always fresh and I like that they are made in front of you! Note that some sides are extra but you are able to substitute on the "pre-constructed" ones listed on the board. A few times I have had bad customer service from on of the guys that checks you out. Yesterday he charged me over $12 for a salad I paid less than $9 the week before. He charged me for double avocado ($1.99 each). When I explained my concern he seemed upset I would correct him (I'm a grad student on a tight budget for heaven's sake!) I expressed my experience with the manager and she made up for it by giving me a free salad in the future. If you want a fresh (HUGE) salad for a quick lunch I would recommend giving Chopt a try. read more
