I have passed his place numerous times, but was always reluctant to go in because of how busy they always are. I guess this should have been a clue as to how good the salads are though-- but I still didn't feel like fighting a crowd. Also, viewing the menu through the window, I was always turned off by the price. I don't mind paying for a good meal, but averaging $10+ for a salad was a bit much for me. A manager at a client site I visited today took all her coworkers here for lunch today, so it kind of enticed me to at least give the place a try. When I arrived, once again, they were super busy. Upon entering, however, I was pleased to find an employee greeting me at the door, who's specific task at the time was to answer questions and "direct traffic." The experience was quick, fluid, and seamless! I ordered the Spicy Sonoma Ceasar, a special for the month it seems, and I was pleasantly surprised! They mix the ingredients in front of you for the salad you choose from the menu, or create yourself, then they pass it to the worker adjacent to them who, as the name of the place implies, "Chopt" it all up nice and fine, then added dressing of both the flavor and amount you desire. They then mix everything up evenly so each bite is well distributed of the ingredients... Very cool! Next station was the cashier. Again, one of the reasons I avoided the place up until now. $13.52 for a salad and a bottle of water-- ridiculous, in my opinion. That being said, the four staff members I encountered were super pleasant and happy to serve, and the salad actually was most certainly above average in taste and quality. Still not worthy of $13 though... Which is the only reason I can't give this place a higher rating. If I had to judge the salad solely on taste itself, even throwing customer experience in the mix, it would be a 4.5 for sure, only loosing half a point because they skimped a TAD on the meat. read more

Chopt Creative Salad - Overpriced... But absolutely delicious! - Vegetarian Near Me - Arlington, Virginia

Missing the essentials. I ordered a Kale Caesar and Kebab Cobb salad, both with chicken. One salad came with chicken and one came without. The salads were also not chopped per customer request. Edible but disappointing. read more

You know, I'm gonna have to give this place a hard 3 on the yelp scale. 13-16 dollars for a friggin salad? Are you insane? I had a new chicken Caesar salad here and I was a little disappointed it didn't taste better than it looked. I'm no salad Aficionado but good grief man. read more

When I think about places that just make me really happy, this is by far one of my favorite. I probably eat here for lunch at least three or four times a week and every time I'm impressed by not only the amazing salads but how sweet, kind, friendly, and professional the entire team is. The general manager, Jackson definitely sets the tone for his team and is always so personable and has a warm smile. I know it's just a sad place but it's nice to know that he take such pride in their product and in the service they provide. And not to mention the salads are pretty amazing. A $10 salad is a hard sell for me in most instances but I'm happy to spend it for the quality that I get each and every visit. This place is an example of great customer service and other should definitely model themselves after it. read more

It could've just been what I got, but the salad was pretty unpalatable. The vegetables didn't seem all that fresh, the dressing was overpowering and just generally off putting, and the shrimp tasted kinda weird. This is probably one of the only times I've ever tossed out food I purchased at a restaurant. I'm open to the idea I just got unlucky, so maybe I'll come back sometime and update my review accordingly. read more

Updating my review since the company reached out to me and showed concern for my experience. That makes a difference to me. I'm still not a fan of their prices for what you get but... at least their corporate customer service is responsive. read more

This has become my favorite salad spot. Convenient location for commuters - right by the Rosslyn metro station so you already know parking is limited. I have always liked Chopt more than Sweetgreen....but they are essentially the same thing. I like creating my own salad. Since eating healthy tends to be expensive...this place is no different. Don't be surprised when you pay $9 for a single salad. read more

3.5 stars I only tried this place once. The salad was delicious. I love the concept because I hate having to mix my salads up and trying to bite large pieces of lettuce. I like how everything is chopped up and mixed.. so it is ready to eat. The reason for 3.5 stars is because of the price. for $10, i would think there would be more ingredients in the salad. i think $8 would be more fair of a price for a salad.. but this is one of those trendy food places.. so they charge more read more

Amazing to go salad, but not cheap. Expect to drop $10+ at this place for a quick lunch, but the salad is huge. Overall it's worth it and I'd go back. Their camels are also really good, two for 99 cents. read more

This location is absolutely terrible. The workers couldn't care less about their customers and I've never once had someone say hello when walking in. They consistently fill $15 salad bowls half way and look MISERABLE. Whoever manages this location, give your workers some love so they can take better care of their customers. They lost one today. The worker wouldn't listen to anything I was saying so I ended up walking out mid order. Officially done with this location. read more

Four Corners $10 (5/5 NOMs) Mhhh this is one very nomnom mix of Chicken, cotija cheese, avocado, rattlesnake beans and more. What is rattlesnake beans? Should I be scared? I stopped in last Thursday to get a salad to go. The employee who made my salad was so friendly (I wish I had caught her name) and didn't skimp on ingredients. Also - this location has roasted sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts! I've never seen this at other Chopt locations and my salad was delicious. Will definitely come back to this location because of the unique menu. read more

I sure love a delicious wrap made with fresh, organic ingredients! I have been ordering food from this restaurant for quite some time, but I don't think I've ever actually eaten there! The good: Chop't is all about those good-for-you ingredients, and what's not to love about that? The food I get here is always delicious and freshly made (right in front of you!). The bad: Parking here is the absolute worst if you're trying to go during the day. The construction across the street has taken half the parking spots on this block and has all but demolished the actual driving surface. I frequently order a wrap for myself and a bowl for my wife. On two separate occasions I have checked the bag and found two bowls! Both time they quickly swapped it into a wrap for me, but come on, it says it right there on the sheet! Also, this place is not cheap. You are definitely going to pay for those fresh ingredients that they are touting oh so much. My wife and I usually spend close to $20 after taxes and all that. Four out of five because the food is awesome, but pricey and good luck with parking! PRO TIP: You get more food if you order a bowl (and that wrap packs on the calories). read more

The Chicken Tinga is amazing!! If you are reading this and debating on what to get at Chop't, you should absolutely, without a doubt, get the chicken Tinga and if you don't get the chicken Tinga, you'll probably regret it. I like Chop't way better than say places like SweetGreen, but it's for the chicken tinga. That salad is next level good. I add pita chips, corn, and beets to mine. Yum! read more

This is my number one favorite salad bar in town. I wish they have more locations nearby then sweetgreen. I would recommend the Russian smoky bacon dressing that I order almost every time. read more

Best Chop't in the DMV. I didn't get his name but he was absolutely amazing with the service. Everything was fresh, clean and welcoming. I could eat here daily! They have a wide selection of salads and warm bowls and a ton of options for extras. I had the Chicken Tinga bowl and I am forever a changed person. My favorite salad spot just got better. I love the new look, and same great food and service.

I have recently tried the Mexican Cesar wrap and it's the best item on the menu. The only reason I couldn't give this a 5 is the employees and staff are not very kind or personable. The business was very clean on an upside. read more

Friendly staff but DIRTY! The prep station is filthy! I was grossed out to see the amount of old food stuck underneath the metal containers as he switched out the empty avocado. All the toppings are mixed with other toppings that fall in because they move so quickly. It's gross. The bowl for my salad is sticky, gritty, and has finger prints all over it because of the staff's dirty hands while handling the bowls. It's just sloppy. YUCK! They need a better solution. I know they're busy and all but I've never seen a location as dirty as this. read more

What a wonderful experience My family and I had visiting your restaurant. Yesterday, my family and I had an emotional morning laying to rest our Mom. We are vegetarians and we love the variety and freshness of your salads . We decided to have lunch at Chopt. Nelson and his team had us in tears. Them were so warm and full of joy. Oh my stars, we needed the smiles and love. They were so attentive in making our salads with so much care. Thank you Chopt for bringing so much Sunshine to our day on such an emotional day with excellent service and such tasty food. read more

Not the most amazing salad I've ever had but definitely decent. I went during lunch time (~12:15) on a workday and the line was pretty long; however, they were very efficient and I was in and out in around 10 minutes. I ordered the Palm Beach salad since it was my first time there and I got nervous so I just ordered off the menu (I saw avocado and chicken and just went for it lol). The salad was kind of flavorless and didn't seem like it was worth $11, so next time I go I'll for sure customize my order more so I can get exactly what I want! read more

If you want a nice, quick, healthy meal, you should definitely try this place. Portions are generous but will run you typically ~$10. Tons of options for vegetables, meats, and dressing - you can order one of their pre-defined options or make your own. For your first time, the menu can be overwhelming - I mean it's freakin salad, can't believe there are so many choices. I recommend the Monterey Salad (Grilled chicken, pepper jack cheese, red onions and tortilla strips chop't with iceberg lettuce) with red wine vinaigrette. Their Grilled Asian and Caesar Salads are also good. Weekday lunch time crowds can be insane but the lines move quickly and they have very friendly service. read more

The prices seem a bit high for a salad at first, but they are so filling and so tasty that they are absolutely worth it!

More please! I don't appreciate boring salad. If you are going to quarter a head of lettuce and cover it with salad dressing, I am not sure why you would think that I would pay for it? Oh, and that grass looking stuff in a bowl, THAT TASTE LIKE GRASS, isn't going to cut it. Never again! Yuck! Chop'T brings an entirely different and delightful experience to those of us that love a good salad. They have a wide selection of salads and ingredients and ample portions. Feel free to add more of this or that, for a little extra price. More tomatoes? That is a small price. More shrimp for your Palm Beach salad? That's a little more than the little more. Once everything you have selected for your feast is in the large mixing bowl, the chopping begins. Chopped into large bits or a finer size for your fork, your salad is chopped to your specifications. Yum! Two tips: 1) Get there at the beginning of lunchtime. The line goes quickly, but there will be a line if you get there in the middle of the rush. 2) HUGE military discount! They take a whopping 50% off for military members. Wow! read more

I personally love Chop't, regardless of the store that I visit. This particular one is very close to where I work, so it is very easy to access. I always have a delicious salad made very well, and quickly. The people working behind the counter are always very welcoming, but quick and thorough, especially around lunch time. The line can get very long, but I never seem to be waiting for a long period of time. As a company, I enjoy the seasonal changing salads, and the fact that they have "spa" dressings (lower calorie dressing) options that are still just as tasty. Also, the fountain soda that Chop't offers is honestly my favorite - be sure to try the Black Cherry. read more

After passing this place many times, I finally decided to stop in and try it out. I'm a big fan of SweetGreen, so I was hoping that Chop't would be similar, since it's closer to me. I got a chicken caesar salad, my favorite. The salad was pretty big, but one they chopped it up, it appeared to be much smaller than it actually was. The salad itself was okay at best. The caesar dressing was an oil and vinegar based, where as I prefer creamy caesar dressing. The lettuce was fresh, but the salad as a whole got to be very boring after a few bites. The dressing just wasn't that good, the chicken was kind of dry, and the only other parts of the salad were croutons and parmesan cheese. Definitely nowhere near as good as SweetGreen! Since I love a good caesar salad, I probably won't be returning. read more

Chop't is great, love it. Packing salads and mixing it at my desk is a pain, so $10 is worth it for a quick service salad. Online apps are also great- all the minutiae of a salad for my multiple-allergy-having-wife makes ordering easy for me and the staff. We had a long day and decided to stop by for takeout in Rosslyn en route home. Ordered 1 Cobb, 1 Caesar @6:54, was told a pickup time of 6:58. *Fantastic!* Head to the store, checked in with the cashier to confirm and was told they had my order. Sat to one side to wait. *All good* 7:03 Family of 3 come in, their orders are taken. *Ok...nbd* Then a couple comes in, their orders are taken *Ok...?* Single guy comes in, HIS order taken *?!?* 7:09 Cashier is just chilling, go to her and double check that my order is good. She offers me an order for 'Jessica' *nope* and then wordlessly runs to the back. She comes back a few minutes later with 2 pages and hands them to the (salad artists? salad makers?) and when I ask what gives, she catches an attitude with 'we just got your order sooooo, it's not OUR fault. You're gonna have to wait'. Except they took another 4 orders from a large family...? 7:14 Salad artist asks me for my order step by step, and I'm told there's no avocado for the Cobb. *coooooool*. Instructions repeated. Edit order in app bc they can't undo the charge *fine*. Ceasar goes fine. 7:19 Finally out the door, with a nice 'you're good, you can go now' to send me off. Free bread randomly added to my gluten-free order, though (???). App shows that I'm charged for the original and the edited order separately *dead* Rosslyn, I know that it's a Sunday but get your act together. Things happen, but don't blame a comms & service breakdown on the customer who's been waiting patiently. Or at least offer a basic 'sorry', I'm not asking for free stuff, just basic food service and some common courtesy here. Dupont is consistently awesome, probably going to stick to that location. Food- fine Price- fine Wait time- (25 min for a quick order salad place!) not fine. Customer Service- totally not ok. Really needs work. read more

I love this chain BUT, the manager at this particular branch treats his workers like crap and he is also REALLY stingy with customers. He hovers behind those making the salads and wraps and if any customer asks for a bit more of anything, he snatches the order form from the person making it and writes that you have ordered extra on it, charging you a whopping 2 or 3 dollars extra. He is the kind of person that sucks up to customers but is a slave-driver to his employees when customers aren't looking. Since I speak Spanish, I could talk to the employees and they affirmed that the manager is really rude and overpowering. It just ruins my experience when I see things like this. I will not be going back to this particular Chop't ever again. read more

If (lunch)money were no object, I'd eat here every day. Unfortunately, I can't resist creating a $23 salad whenever I come (yes, let's put everything on it!) So there is that. No complaints, this is good salad ... but it's salad ... and takeout salad for $23 bucks makes me wilt. read more

Finally, a place that specializes in salads in Rosslyn! If you are familiar with other "salad by design" places, this one works about the same as most: 1) Choose your green (5 choices) 2) Choose your toppings (50+) 3) Choose your dressing For $6 you get 4 ingredients. Before noon you can add an additional one for free. Adding meat costs an extra $2-3. If can also have your salad made into a wrap. (My fave is Ivy League - romaine, grilled asparagus, avocado, tomato, cucumber, corn, balsalmic) ADVICE: Call your order in over the phone about 15 minutes before you pick it up. You'll get to march straight up to the register and pay, instead of standing 15-20 deep in line to wait for a salad to be made. read more

Love love love. When I discovered this place, it was like a hole in my heart was filled. I am such a fan of big salads and this place makes the best. So many fixings and so many options, it's like I've died and gone to heaven. I will say that you pay a bit more than I might like, but it's worth it to me for a delicious and healthy meal. I also pay more, since I make my own combo and several of the items are "super foods" and you pay premium for them. (For the record: spinach, edamame, smoked tofu - amazing, oranges, avocado with carrot-ginger dressing) I don't get here nearly as often as I would like because parking in this area is so annoying. I refuse to pay for ramp parking when I just want to run in and get a salad, but street parking is really limited in this area. So sometimes I will drive around in hopes of a big ol' salad for dinner, but get so annoyed that I end up driving to Chipotle for a burrito bowl instead. (The one star was docked for price and the parking issue.) read more

Two stars overall, salad was great, service terrible. I felt like I annoyed the staff by ordering food. I stood there, only person in line, no one greeted me or asked to take my order, so I walked to the register and one person said to order over there, where I was, where the guy had ignored me so he could complete his side work. So then I ordered. Then my salad was passed to the next station where they next guy slowly got to it. Then he rings me up and tells me the price. So I say I'd like to order X drink, he says nothing but the new price. I give him card, he swipes it, asks if I want receipt, hands it to me, walks away. No thank you, no have a nice night, nothing. I had to ask for the beverage I ordered from another person because he had walked away. Pleasant, NOT. read more

I've had a delicious cobb salad here...but everything else I have tried (the grilled asian salad with both chicken and shrimp and the santa fe salad) were below average. THe cobb salad was tasty, had lots of chicken and bacon and of course, avocado, and was deeeeeelicious (I replaced the iceberg with romaine). On the other hand, the grilled asian salad was BLAND...just pure blandness...I think the dressing lacked flavor AND it was seriously lacking in ingredients..for instance, we paid to have an order of shrimp added into it and I barely could find any shrimp and the little pieces of shrimp we DID find were overly salty. The santa fe was DRENCHED in dressing and every piece of lettuce was soggy. a slightly healthy meal all of a sudden turned into a heart attack in a plastic box. This place is inconsistent AND if you make your own salad, the price can really add up. I'm not sure if I will be back, but if I do, I will be going in with some hesitation! read more
