I'm always here because the food and drinks are consistently great, and I've truly never been disappointed!!!

Truly the worst dining experience I've had in a while. We felt uncomfortable, I welcomed, and anxious the entire meal. As Veterans, coming to celebrate Veterans Day, we were told by the bartender, Charlotte, that we couldn't sit at the bar because "she was busy." I asked the hostess, and she told us it was ok to sit at the bar. We then watched the next Veteran come sit at the bar, who was told the same thing. They sat anyways, and she just proceeded to not clear the dirty plates in front of them. We watched her get angry at a number of staff, again, scolding them because she was too busy. I can't believe your staff has to be treated this way on a daily occurrence, and as clients, you're certainly ensuring your clientele avoids coming to this location like the plague. Food was mediocre, and as you can see from the photo, we spent $12 dollars for a drink that didn't even come to us full. I made the Thai crunch vegan by removing wontons and switching the chicken for avocado.

Lunch date with myself. I came for on thing, but the menu changed. Beware of the menu changing often at this location. The pizza and salad were the perfect lunch size. For $13 I not disappointed at all. During lunch it's never too busy unless people walk over from the Pentagon or other government agency's for group lunches. Parking is very limited. It is across from the mall and you can park there.

I've been coming to this CPK for the last 10 years. My mom and I have our special date where we always get the Garlic Chicken Pizza. It's a signature to us and such an incredible and delicious pizza. I don't come here all the time, and I assume management has changed/the staff in the years I've come. Consistency can ebb and flow. Like a year ago when we came everything felt mediocre. But today when we went it was SO delicious. We devoured the warm crunchy bread at the beginning. The olive oil on the side was just perfect. We also tried the Roasted Veggie Salad today and it was delicious!! I loved the mix of warm and refreshing along with the mix of crunchy and soft. It was very yummy salad. Antonio, our host and waiter was incredible. He seemed to be running the show and had a smile on the whole time. He was extremely friendly!

I went twice in 3 days. They are the latest restaurant hours wise near the ritz. Day 1 i ordered online and popped in the bar to order some drinks while i waited-all was perfect. Great service and great taste. Day 2-placed my order online around the same tjme 10pm. I go to get it they tell me to go to the window and i wait 3 mins for the same lady to walk over to the window. She then goes back to where i originally was grabs it and comes back and like tosses it at me. Then i ask for cheese and pepper and she takes a handful of pepper and throws it in the bag. I walk back across the street and find a not as cooked pizzas as the first day (cheese was just barely melted). It was also like they had played football with my pizza while it was in the box! So glad that was my last night there, i love CPK but this one seems hit or miss

The drink prices are good during happy hour--or what they insisted on saying was not a happy hour but "the happiest hour"--at 50% off drinks only. And not bad. But I'm taking off two stars, and they're lucky it's not more, for the obnoxious service at the welcome desk. This guy told us we had to wait to be seated even though the restaurant was only like 20% full. Then he insisted there was no happy hour. When we said we had called earlier to confirm, he went to ask at the bar and came back saying that no, there was no happy hour. So I finally just walked past him and seated myself at the bar, where ANOTHER woman told me there was no happy hour. So I asked about the "happiest hour I had been told about on the phone and learned yes, drinks are 50% off. So why were they HIDING that from customers?

Kung Pao Spaghetti

I have visited this location several times. The staff is always friendly and my food is always hot. This particular time I l ordered the Kung Pao Spaghetti, which consisted of garlic, scallions peanuts, red chili and spaghetti tossed in what tastes like a peanut sauce. You can also add shrimp or chicken. I added chicken to my dish and it was wonderful. The dish was flavorful with a kick of heat in the background. My other recommendations are the tomato basil bisque soup, the lettuce wraps w/ chicken, the butter cake, the wild mushroom + brie soup and the chicken California club sandwich. The club sandwich is what I order the most. It is grilled chicken breast with avocado, nueske's applewood bacon, romaine lettuce and tomatoes and the most soft on the inside crispy on the outside bread. This sandwich is loaded with flavors. I recommend this location and will definitely go back again and again and again.

Just skip it. I wanted mango passion fruit iced tea, they didn't have that because they ran out . I wanted plant based bbq chicken pizza and they didn't have that because they ran out. Water took forever because they forgot. One of the servers coughed throughout the entire restaurant.

We were looking for a place to have a simple lunch, and California Pizza Kitchen offered more than I expected! Not only did they have favorable lunch prices, they had a lot more variety than I would have guessed. By the title alone, I expected their menu to be dominated by pizza options. But, I was pleasantly surprised to see their pasta, sandwich, and salad options. And their regular menu pastas look AMAZING! After much anguish, I eventually decided on the Bolognese and salad, while my wife opted for a pizza and salad. The pizza was great, but it was fluffed with a healthy sprinkling of fresh herbs, which slightly overpowered the pizza flavor, itself. No biggie. My bolognese was rich and tasty, and I was pleased with it. They have so many pasta options that I wished to try, but didn't want a full dinner sized serving. I really wish they would make all of their pastas available as lunch servings. Our salads were very good, but a little dry. We had to ask for extra dressing. Our server was great, and we had a great, easy meal. I will return! #todaysdiscovery #traviswinmanauthor

With an impressively high Yelp rating, I was disappointed to hear the new owners say the glowing reviews are from the previous owner (though I respect the honesty). Despite that, we really enjoyed our visit. The new owners live up to the legacy. First of all, the service is excellent. An older man makes the food and who I assume is his daughter takes the orders. Both are kind. At the end, she gave my daughter a granola bar for free. The menu is a mix of Korean food and the small market in the back sells Korean products and more. It's very fun to browse and pick up some snacks and treats. My daughter loved the juicy grape fruit snacks. To eat, we ordered the Japanese curry and milk tea. Both were full of flavor and made with love. "This is my new favorite meal of all time," said my daughter. She devoured the bowl herself! There's a small parking lot in front of the cafe. It's within walking distance from the Crystal City Metro.

Who knew that there would be a cafe in Pentagon City with this option? The interior is a bit cramped with many cardboard boxes piling up. We were able to order the food at the counter and waited about 5-10 minutes before the food was ready. BRAISED PORK OVER RICE (卤肉饭) - 15.49 Lots of rice, more rice than I could finish with the amount of braised pork belly they give. The pork was very fatty, which made it tasty and juicy, but it wasn't very saucy. There were two halves of a bokchoy and half of an incredibly boiled egg, which was meh. Still, I finished all the toppings and maybe a little less than half of the rice. I was full, but $15.49 for the food was not worth it. Overall, 3.5/5 but bump it to a 4/5 since there's a scarcity of food like this in the area. They sell other comfort Asian dishes too, like coconut chicken cutlet rice and Japanese eel rice.

Ok so first of all, I have been here before but seemingly never got around to writing a review from…read morethe last time I was in the area, my sincere apologies. The first time we got coffee and food and it was legit. Five star rating. That was back in early fall so I'd be remiss to try and remember everything. So I'm just going to review today's visit. We stopped in after a day in Alexandria, and the metro was down in crystal city so we had to walk, bus, metro, shuttle hop and repeat. So a busy day. We just wanted a good solid coffee. And a good solid coffee is what we got. The place was low key, despite it being happy hour time (4-8 every day), and Valentine's Day. Which totally fine by me, I don't love crowds encroaching in my personal space. We got a cute little table by the door and helped ourselves to the coffee station area that had some water while waiting to order at the kiosk (you can order at the counter or the kiosk). He got a cafe con leché (hot) (espresso steamed milk and sweet cuban crema) and I got a cortadito (espresso steamed evaporated milk and sweet Cuban crema). Both were phenomenal and hit the spot after a long day. Would highly recommend. I'm eyeballing getting a couple bags of their fresh roasted coffee beans to go home when I leave.

I've never had an authentic café con leche in Cuba or Puerto Rico, since I haven't visited these…read morecountries before. And the last time I had a café con leche was at a Dunkin' Donuts near Palm Beach around a decade ago. I'm not kidding. I was so amused that they offered these at a drive-thru window and my commercialized DD version wasn't bad. But, as I've traveled, my best option for a getting something close to a café con leche is just to request one, know that it won't be exact but/and keep your fingers crossed. Or - at least - order a café au lait. I'm no coffee snob so feel free to comment here. Wiki taught me that café con leches are made with scalded milk vs. steamed. And sugar cane is used in the grounds or the brew. This actual café con leche - at Crystal City's Colada Shop - is somehow the most authentic café con leche which I could reference drinking, in awhile now. I mean, I have had a few around Florida cafes, awhile back. At the Colada Shop register, you can order a regular café con leche or a 'sweeter' version. Hmmm ... how blessedly simple vs. and the mounds of adjectives I myself use when at a Starby's. I was assured that the sweeter version she offered was more gentle than it sounded, and she was correct. My steaming Cuban coffee was strong and not overpoweringly sweet. Like, I was relieved that I had ordered it sweet because otherwise I might have not been woman enough to drink it. The flavors of this beverage were complex. Rich and deeply smoky. This coffee was not like a Vietnamese coffee with a strong French roast and sweet cream. These flavors were more like - I don't have the culinary knowledge to say - like a deep, strong Cuban brew. I know that probably doesn't help. I enjoyed the beautiful, bright colors, the music and sips of my lovely and seriously respectable coffee, to go, here. The service was excellent. Each of the three team members I spoke with were all friendly and helpful. I liked my coffee and especially appreciated being able to find an establishment which markets and serves café con leches, Cuban-style. When I asked the Colada Shop employee what the most popular hot drinks were here, she said - obviously - its namesake Café con Leche, and secondly, the Carrot Cake con Leche coffee drink. Yes, please. She said the Dulce de Leche coffee is the third most popular drink here and her description of it as fabulous with the caramel and steamed milk. Well, there are at least two reasons to go back to the Colada Shop at Crystal City!

The workers were super nice and patient even though they had to come into work with the nasty weather. I order the chicken parm with the poppers. The chicken parm sub was delicious however the size was a lot smaller than what I expect from a normal sub. The poppers on the other hand I felt like the filling was lacking if you ate it by itself. It absolutely needed the chocolate dipping sauce that they provided to give the extra flavor profile for the dessert. Part of me wished there was just more Nutella flavoring or somehow a flavor in the middle that would be more flavor so there would be no need to dip. However, I cant deduct any points since I'm not a fan of chocolate and I believe anyone who is a fan of chocolate would be satisfied with it. The inside of the restaurant is kind of cramped but I came in when there wasn't too many people so it was spacious when it's empty. However it was cute and had seating facing the window so you can people watch outside. There was a very large party already on the patio, and I was seated behind them. I waited about 12-15 minutes before the rest of my group arrived, but no server ever came by. We decided to head inside to get re‑seated, but couldn't find a hostess anywhere. We eventually flagged down a random server in the bar area and asked if a four‑top could be cleared so we could sit there instead. Thankfully, once we moved inside, everything improved dramatically. Service from that point on was attentive and friendly. The "Peoples Hour" menu was a highlight--great pricing without feeling "cheap." Appetizers were $6-10, cocktails $6-8, wines $6, and beers $6.50. The Down & Dirty (a vodka martini variation without vermouth) was solid, and the Out of the Office...Forever rum punch was decent. For food, we tried several items: - Makers Mini Nachos with steak -- Generous toppings but the chips got soggy quickly under all the queso, sour cream, and guac, which is not necessarily a bad thing. - Taco-bout Fish -- Crispy cod with a lemon aioli; one of the better bites of the night. - Drop It Like It's Hot -- Really good chicken tenders with a spicy Comeback sauce. - Lil B sliders -- Nicely cooked and not overdone; the Comeback sauce added a nice kick. The space has an upscale sports‑bar vibe with TVs above and around the bar. Seating can feel tight when it's busy, and the noise level definitely climbs, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a quieter meal. Despite the rocky start, the rest of the evening was enjoyable. Good food, great happy hour pricing, and solid service once we were settled inside. I'd return--just probably not to the patio during a big party.
