I was a little torn between the chef salad and the chicken wrap, and after a minute I chose the wrap. It was made right there on the spot so it wasn't anything pre-made. They added an ample amount of lettuce which was important, as well as, the secret wrap sauce. The people working here are awesome and I will for sure come back here in the future. The place is located inside a building so it is not the most accessible place and the online directions can be misleading.

We found a quiet spot to unwrap and enjoy it and dug in. Frankly, I wouldn't order it again, and I think we would have enjoyed the grinder more. It was just a huge pile of meat on pumpernickel bread with mustard. Flavor was meh. Neither of us was overwhelmed for nearly $25. Props for the cute European goods in the shop, though, and the employees were courteous and friendly. But next time I'll look elsewhere for lunch.

There was just the right balance of flavors, and I can definitely see why it's one of their most popular choices. A heads-up when ordering: They typically have several sandwiches pre-made and ready to go, but if you want something made fresh to order, you'll need to order by phone or online. At least at the Lyon Village location, you can't order a made-to-order sandwich directly at the counter. So if you have your heart set on a freshly made sub, plan ahead! Of course, no Italian sub is complete without chips. They carry Route 11, a Virginia-based chip company, and they had several varieties available: lightly salted, dill pickle, Chesapeake Crab, Mama Zuma's Revenge, and salt & pepper. I went with the lightly salted, which was the perfect pairing with my Milano. Unfortunately, the Lyon Village location doesn't have fresh gelato, so I had to settle for the pre-packaged variety. I went with the caramel gelato, and it was delicious! It wasn't overly sweet, which I appreciated, although it was a little on the expensive side. The store was pretty busy when I stopped in, with several people inside and a few others enjoying the outdoor tables. They also sell pizza by the slice, or you can order a whole pizza to take home. I saw several people leaving with whole pizzas, so clearly I need to add that to my next visit. Between the Milano, Route 11 chips, and caramel gelato, this was a fantastic first experience. Especially when places like The Broiler and George's Steak and Things offer similar prices with an astoundingly higher meat in the meat to bread ratio. What little of the meat was available was delicious. I wish I had gotten a sub-$13 worth, not barely $7.65. Not sure I could come back. With how much I paid, it felt like a diminished return. And if I did come back, I'd hope the other offerings, like the breakfast sandwich, burger, and pulled pork, offer a better meat-to-bread ratio.

I feel like I have so much power in determining the number of stars. Given that, I wish I could rate this place higher. I got delivery on a Saturday morning. The website said my pizza would be there in 40 minutes, and it was. When it came it was warm, not hot. I primarily took off stars because this pizza just isn't that good. They used canned mushrooms (always a big no-no) and the sauce/cheese didn't have a ton of flavor. I thought the puffy and crispy crust was pretty decent. Paisano's isn't any worse than any other pizza joint around here. I'm just accustomed to better pizza. read more

AWFUL!!!!! After waiting for food for 2 hours and calling 2 times only to be told a driver will be arriving shortly, the manager told me the driver "tried" to deliver. Never identified oneself, never left a voicemail, never used the entry code to the building, never bothered to even call from the call box downstairs.
