    Burnt spicy garlic bread
    Sher S.

We just ordered two pizzas and one order of garlic bread from Fillmore Pizza via GrubHub. The order arrived in an expected time. The garlic bread arrived completely burnt (see photos). The husband, the kid, and I each tried to eat one and found them all to not only be solidly burnt but also surprisingly spicy. We are not afraid of spice in this house, but it was an unexpected flavor. One pie was plain. The other pie had roasted eggplant. Oddly, these were not spiced with typical Italian seasonings but with what we are guessing are Indian flavors. Was that curry or turmeric in the sauce? We're not sure, but while we love Indian food as a rule, it was again not expected and not exactly working as a surprising flavor addition in our pizzas. So much for dinner. Sigh.

I came to this place specifically because I had pizza on my mind. When I walked in there were no people eating inside because I think it was still somewhat early. I wanted to get a large pizza to split with a couple of my neighbors a little later on. My friend is a regular here and he told me that this place makes their own pizza dough and sauce. So that was my motivation to give his place a try. I came in, placed my order with Apple Pay, and decided to take a short walk around while he guy behind the counter started to prepare my pizza. I think I returned in less than ten minutes, and my pizza was boxed up and ready to go. The is thing looked hot and fresh. My original plan was to bring it home to share with everybody, but I couldn't help myself. I had t try a slice before I pulled out of the parking lot. This slice definitely hit the spot.

    Build Your Own Pizza

I built my own "Vegetarian Hawaiian" pizza with mushrooms, olives, green chilies, and pineapple. It was delicious and came with a side of ranch dressing, which was perfect with the crispy crust! Although I wish they offered garlic as a topping, I will happily order this pizza again soon!

Perfectly cooked hot large cheese pizza.

A friend recommended Fillmore pizza to me so I gave them a try, not only did i love the the hot cheese pizza I ordered but the service there was excellent. I learned from the manager that they offer many discounts and are open late. The pizza was cooked perfectly and my kids loved it! I am definitely coming back to order from them!

There was a dead cockroach on the pizza. do not order from here. sucks I already ate a piece.

Found a dead cockroach on my pizza. Do not order from here. Tragic I had a slice before I found the cockroach.

    Awful "Chicken Alfredo"

This is awful frozen pizza and chicken Alfredo. I took three bites of my $30 order and threw it away. I may call the health inspector on this place, truly disgusting. Please do yourself a favor and stay away

The packaging was handled with care so both of my sandwiches arrived nice and hot. I ordered the B.E.L.T and a grilled cheese. The B.E.L.T was a conversation starter, the bread was buttery and smooth-melts right in your mouth after each bite. The egg with corn, never tried that combo but honey, it was fantastic!!!! The bacon was quite generous and prepared with the perfect crisp and the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, complementing the sandwich. The sauce on top was a shining star! So much flavor spread evenly throughout the sandwich. My boyfriend loved his grilled cheese sandwich which came with bacon and spinach. Definitely glad that I found this place! Well seasoned with a good crunch. The steak and cheese for me was a mixed bag...I saw my food coming and was dumbfounded by how big the bread was, and I didn't see any meat popping out. Pulled the sandwich open and saw what little meat I got. For $12.95, I feel a little ripped off. Especially when places like The Broiler and George's Steak and Things offer similar prices with an astoundingly higher meat in the meat to bread ratio. What little of the meat was available was delicious. I wish I had gotten a sub-$13 worth, not barely $7.65. Not sure I could come back. With how much I paid, it felt like a diminished return. And if I did come back, I'd hope the other offerings, like the breakfast sandwich, burger, and pulled pork, offer a better meat-to-bread ratio.

The flavors are good--slightly sweet but savory meat that is easy to pull apart. I also ordered an add on of short rib on the side, and for $5.50, it was a rather small portion. It comes in a cute box and the staff was super nice and offered water while I waited for my order. It's located in the Ballston Quarter food court area.

THE ROYAL PALM - 12 The salmon lox is my go-to bagel order, and this is their version of it. Instead of an everything bagel, I swapped it with a cheddar bagel. Unfortunately, the bagel was a bit stale and hard to chew, which was disappointing. On the bright side, there was a good amount of smoked salmon. The onions weren't very pungent but added a nice crisp texture. I requested light cream cheese, but it wasn't spread evenly -- a lot of it was just stuck in the hole of the bagel. All in all, I wasn't particularly impressed with the quality of the bagel today. If I return, I really should encourage myself to try a different bagel other than the salmon lox to see what's out there. They also have a few melts on the menu that looked interesting.

It only took a quick 10 minutes to receive our entire order, which was 3 burgers, a crispy fried chicken sandwich, loaded fries, and 2 milkshakes! I was very happy with how efficient the service was and the most important part, how delicious every bite was! The smashburgers are made with 100% halal beef and they come out HOT with perfectly crispy edges on the patties and a juicy center. We ordered 3 burgers and each of them stood out in their own way. You can get a single, double, or triple patty burger and add whatever toppings to it too. The jalapeño burger was the star of the show, it had a such a nice and spicy kick to it. I wasn't expecting much but this burger had HEAT! Another favorite was the Juicy Lucy. It was packed with grilled onions and the patty was stuffed with cheddar cheese. A super messy and cheesy option that was definitely worth every bite! I liked that Jon's Joint offered other options too such as loaded fries and fried chicken sandwiches. What I found unique is that for the loaded fries, you can get it with falafel and make it spicy! This time, they had run out of the falafel so I am excited to try it next time. If you're in Arlington and craving a casual burger spot, you need to go to Jon's Joint. You'll get quick service and a delicious meal!

Growing up Italian stateside, I never knew about this light, wavy pasta dish. So pappardelle pasta is like some rare delicacy and I love it. This pasta dish is not easy to find unless it has been popularized in the Italian dining scene, recently. How can I explain this pasta? Papardelle are not thick like butter noodles, but instead they are thin yet wide. And at Dal Grano's, they must be experienced to be savoured. Do call ahead, because they might just have them made. Dal Grano's is a neighborhood place. We love how when you are dining, they actually talk to you and are friendly. There are a few other places around Mclean proper which I wish were more overtly warm and hospitable, in this way. All of Dal Grano's pasta is homemade and delicious. It's definitely great for carryout pasta or a diner-style environment with a homemade pasta lunch or dinner. I don't think they deliver or work with any of the delivery services. You just call and pickup. The butternut squash ravioli is tender and flavorful. We have probably have gotten different versions of their ravioli every time. Outside of the papardelle, I'm all in for their rich squid ink pasta when it's made. I don't go there enough to know if it's always available. They have over 50 homemade pasta combinations to choose from and a big freezer case of food to take home. My biggest issue with Dal Grano's is when I see all of the pastas in the serving bowls presented to order and cook, I want to buy them all at once. I know it sounds tacky, but they make me yearn for a pasta buffet there just so that I can taste all of the variations. Alas, if we were in town more we'd just need to go more often to taste all of their selection. There's only one other restaurant that does Italian this well and it's around 15 minutes away in Falls Church. But even that fabulous Italian restaurant does not compare with the amount and selection of homemade pastas at Dal Grano's.
