Avocado egg sandwhich
Caroline R.

Cute cafe with good working space. Was disappointed they didn't have matcha, so went for the Ube latte which was offensively sweet. The avocado sandwich was decent but for the price, could do better. Prefer other cafes in the neighborhood.

Bulgogi sandwich, Chicken Sandwich (and I don't remember what the other names are)

Love this place. The atmosphere is great for getting a drink and sandwich, then locking in and doing some work. On the other hand it is a great place to chat with another person or in a group setting. If you are a fan of corn, you musttt get the Sweekorn Cream! It is smooth, rich, and has the perfect subtle corn flavor, it's also not too sweet. If you're looking for something on the sweeter side, the Biscoff Cream Latte is perfect and decadent. The sandwiches are loaded and very filling, just on the messy side when you dig in and eat. Favorites are the Chicken Sandwich and ultimately the Bulgogi Sandwich. Definitely give it a try!

Popping in on a Saturday morning around 10 am for coffee, the wait wasn't bad. You order from an iPad and within five minutes, my pistachio latte was ready. It was full of flavor and sweet. I'd order it again! The inside has plenty of seats and tables. There's WiFi and two hours free parking in the garage.

Ube Latte

I tried the seasonal ube cream latte and margherita pizza pastry and they were both delicious! Quick and friendly service with a large amount of seating inside and not crowded so you can definitely stay to get some work done. They validate parking for two hours in the deck but you can also park in a nearby neighborhood and walk over!

This place has easy parking and is easy to find. The service is fast and friendly. You place your order at the kiosk and wait for your name to be called. The cafe is small but has enough space to sit with a friend and chat or grab a window seat to eat/drink and people watch. I have visited twice and had the same two items each time. The biscoff iced coffee and the bulgogi egg sandwich. Yum! The bread is soft and perfectly toasted and the biscoff cold cream MAKES the drink. I will continue to visit again and again!

This is a really bright and spacious cafe with free wifi. The area seems to be up and coming, "Founders Row", with other restaurants and shops getting built. Free parking in the parking garage. There are instructions how to validate parking in the garage and in stores, and once we were at Semicolon cafe, there was a QR code to scan that validated our parking, which made our parking free. This cafe has kiosks to order food and drinks. Can also order at the cash register. I really like Semicolon's sandwiches. I felt full after; the drinks were also yum; the flavored lattes are true to the flavor while still having a strong coffee taste. I'd recommend!

Beautiful swan latte art!

The Korean style egg sandwiches here are to die for. If you can only try one, pick the bulgogi! The sweet thinly sliced beef goes incredibly well with the fluffy egg, veggies, and buttery brioche bread. They top it off with a squiggle of some kind of aioli that just takes it to the next level. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Espresso drinks are just as impressive. They use La Colombe beans. Note that cappuccinos (and lattes, I would assume) come in pretty large mugs. This was perfect for two people to share.

Located within the Founders Row complex right next to Roll Play. This is a great place to sit with a computer to work or to catch-up with friends! There are many snack options from pastries, cakes, and macaroons! It ca be a little pricey, but it was very tasty. The service was friendly and helpful with recommendations. We opted for macaroons and a cake to celebrate a special occasion, which everyone really enjoyed! Parking is in the garage of the complex. A must return for us. Enjoy!

I was so sad when Semicolon closed in Chantilly; and was super excited to know that they re-opened in Falls Church. Their shop is small and cutesy, it's perfect for that "coffee date" feel or "studying + coffee" vibes. They have a large parking garage next to them; the 1st hour is free and then after that it's about $1 every hour. I'm not sure if Semicolon offers discounts/validated parking but the cost isnt too bad. I ordered their SweetCorn Latte and the Chicken Sandwich. SweetCorn Latte: 4/5 - although it was so yum, it was def too sweet for me. (it tastes a lot like buttered popcorn) Chicken Sandwich: 4/5 - it's a korean grilled chicken sandwich with onions, lettuce and sauce. It's super saucy, so I would recommend sauce on the side if you don't like your sandwich drenched and your hands sauced! (I do think that their sandwiches used to taste better back when it was in Tilly's Kitchen. I just felt like it was missing something. ) Bulgogi Sandwich: 5/5 - i think it was so tasty and it was suuuper saucy as well; it was so saucy that the bread started falling apart. I can't wait to go back to try their baked goods and other sandwiches!

Semicolon is ok, their hot drinks are too rambunctious as the flavors don't meet the name. However, i absolutely cannot get over how delicious their corn latte is. Served cold, i always add a 2 shots of espresso to it, and the corn is still alert and alive. Their sandwiches are so cute, but basic and very expensive. I've had a couple different ones, and still couldn't find one i like. The desserts are yummy! So star for that, haven't found one i did not enjoy. The service? That's where the stars go up, they are so friendly! I love that 2 of them always remember my order. Give it a shot if you are ever in the founder's row area!

BELT Sandwich
Michelle L.

The food and drink were all delish! Overall, I would totally come back but it is relatively more expensive. Biscoff latte: the tiny cup for $9? Quite crazy. I expected at least a slightly bigger cup. It tasted great, wish there were an option for a larger size when ordering... unless I missed it. I loved the flavor though, rich and creamy. Not too sweet BELT Sandwich: yum yum yum! Looks just like the photo! The sauce was so good and the bread buttery and toasted. Aesthetic af sandwich. The bacon, lettuce, tomato, and egg with corn in the egg was just so perfectly made. I think it was $12? All their sandwiches go from $11-13. Ambience: great place to catch up! Music was not too loud. Really clean feeling inside Pricey af: prob the only way for them to stay afloat in this apartment complex but dang. I guess everything is going up Parking: in parking garage with up to 2 hours complimentary if you scan the QR code on the wall Free WiFi

We tried the lox and bulgogi sandos. Both were great and very flavorful, and the bread was nice and fluffy. The bulgogi was a bit messy since the marinade/sauce tends to leak, but still delicious. Parking is available in a deck across the street and is validated. Just follow the instructions in the parking deck and the signs on the wall inside the restaurant.

Bulgogi Sandwich

Overall, 3.5/5 but will bump it to a 4/5. I've been to Semicolon twice already, but waited until after my second visit before writing a review. The interior is pretty spacious and clean, and I didn't have an issue finding a table to sit at both times. They're known for their Korean-inspired brioche sandwiches and cafe drinks. I stopped by the first time a few weeks ago with a few friends to try some of their drinks. I got the SWEEKORN LATTE (7) and thought the corn-flavored syrup was overly sweet and tasted artificial. There was probably more whipped cream than there was espresso, and I didn't end up finishing my drink. The three of us all got something vastly different -- smoothie, ade, and specialty latte -- but we didn't really like our drinks. Initially, I was ready to rate our experience a 2/5. I came back yesterday morning with a different friend and we shared a BULGOGI SANDWICH (12) which was delicious. There was a lot of bulgogi, which had a savory and sweet marinade that went well with the fluffy scrambled egg and corn mix, grilled onions, and juicy tomato slices. The brioche bun was soft. The sandwich is a bit expensive for the size, but I really enjoyed it. I recommend the bulgogi sandwiches at Semicolon, but not the drinks. I'm inclined to come back for one of these sandwiches again in the future.

The bar seating was first come first serve. We actually met the owner Will!!! I feel like he provides more customer service than our waitress. Will is a dope guy and seems down to earth. Delivery review ahead!…read more I have not yet visited this place in person so I'm unsure how it is inside and how the service is. Delivery: well packaged for a long trip to DC and it remained fresh and hot. Food: Sweet potato tater tots El Lomo Saltado Both of these selections were AMAZING! The sweet potato tater tots were genius! Perfectly prepared, packing flavor in each bite. The El Lomo Saltado was DIVINE! Allow me to break down the flavors: Biscuit: gosh this biscuit was buttery and soft. And yes, the juices from the steak did not make it soggy. But back to the biscuit...the top was flaky and the inside was soft! Soft and buttery. Egg: I asked for a well done fried egg (the main dish contains over easy) the egg was perfectly cooked and delicious. Steak: the steak pieces were generous and the seasoning on the meat...dangerous! There was a slice of provolone cheese melted on the egg and the sandwich also contained pieces of potatoes and tomatoes inside. All of the flavors in this biscuit meshed together so well, making this a reallllllllllllllly good sandwich. Now I'm sold! What other fun dishes can I try on their menu?!

The surprise star of the meal was the tater tots. They were genuinely divine: crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and dangerously addictive. Every bite was satisfying. The food feels thoughtful and well-executed, the kind of place you keep thinking about after you leave. Definitely worth a visit, and I can't wait to come back and try more! The service was down to earth and the shop is quaint. You might need to wait for a seat to open, but it moves quickly!

I've done the rounds at every banh mi spot in the area -- consider it a personal mission -- and this one has quietly risen to the top of the list. The pâté chả and the meatball are my go-to orders, and I rotate between them depending on my mood and honestly, sometimes I get both and save one for the next day since I don't live close enough. What sets them apart from everyone else in the game? The aioli and the pâté. Both are house-made quality, generously applied, and they bring a richness and depth that most places simply don't bother with. That combination alone is reason enough to make the trip. The ube and pandan coffees are a must-order -- fragrant, beautifully flavored, and the kind of drinks that make you wonder why you ever settled for a plain iced coffee. A word of friendly warning though: avoid weekends unless you enjoy the sport of finding a seat. It gets packed, seating inside is limited, and the crowds are very much justified. Go on a weekday, order everything, and take your time. This place has earned every one of these five stars.

Comparisons with the…read moreOG Banh Mi DC a stone's throw away are both inevitable and useful to decide which business you want to patronize. Both shops have their strengths and weaknesses. Oi's freshly baked bread really stands out. The baguettes are shatteringly crisp while maintaining a very soft, satiny interior. The bread here hits all the high notes of a proper Vietnamese baguette, and outshines DC's slightly chewier and heavier loaves. For traditional fillings, I give the slight edge to DC. While Oi offers better meat quality, the seasonings are not as strong. Similarly, though the veggies are fresh and generously portioned at Oi, I prefer a more picked taste. Finally, the mayo and pâté also possess less umami flavor than what I've had at Banh Mi DC. That being said, Oi does offer a Nashville hot chicken banh mi that's one of the best things I've eaten in recent memory. The sandwich was stuffed generously with crunchy chicken tenders that retained a crisp coating even after a 30 minute drive home. The chili oil balances pure heat with warm spices and a slight tang. This specific banh mi packs a ton of flavor and is alone worth a visit. Banh Mi Oi is also a couple bucks more expensive per sandwich than DC, though portions are subsequently bigger. They also offer a decent amount of indoor seating on the second level that evokes a Vietnamese street, whereas most other places are takeout only or have bare bones ambiance. Overall, while Oi will not necessarily replace the OG down the street when my wife and I crave classic banh mi, the ridiculously good hot chicken sandwich will keep us coming back on a regular basis.

We're still paying customers, ready to order food and drinks. Denying service like that--especially with empty tables in plain sight--feels unnecessary and rigid. I even asked twice, hoping for a little flexibility, but the answer didn't change. I work in the service industry, and this is exactly the kind of situation where you make an exception or use some common sense. Instead, it felt like policy over hospitality. I placed an online order on the evening of 4/21 for my usual -- a Giant #3 with extra meat -- and arrived a few minutes early, which gave me a clear view of the whole process. What I saw was disappointing. The bread was cut incorrectly -- not lengthwise down the center but more like one-third on the bottom and two-thirds on top. That kind of cut doesn't hold up, and by the time the oil was added, the thin bottom half was already soggy. I also don't believe I received the extra meat I paid for. The toppings were applied carelessly -- lettuce scattered across the counter, and the oil and vinegar were poured so haphazardly that the wrapping paper was soaked through before they even got to cutting the sandwich. I'm not writing this to be harsh. I'm writing it because I've always admired this location and would hate to see it slip into the kind of mediocrity that has hurt other spots in the chain. It was clear to anyone watching that neither of these two employees had much investment in the product they were putting in front of the customer. I hope management takes note -- this place is worth caring about.

The lady who rang me up looked around cluelessly, like some sort of magic trick was performed. The guy whose only job was to wrap sandwiches said nothing with a weird smile on his face. The guy who made my sandwich, I know he made it, I saw him do it... was confused because he certainly handed off the sandwich down the line. I could barely understand the cashier say they'd make me another one. How does a sandwich just vanish? Coulda been them putting my sandwich in one of the to-go bags, coulda been a random overzealous customer, but it was literally seconds, and it was gone. Anyway. Sandwich: This is the worst experience I've had with this chain, so location makes a difference. Now that I am thinking about it, I may have gone here once before and wondered what the hype was all about... having had it in Maine, it's a world of difference. Tasted like older product, and bummed that it was way below par here. Wanted something quick, easy, and familiar, but there are many other lunch options around.
