Today, I tried ChopSmith at the Wharf again. Bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese on Ciabatta bread. Excellent! The bread is fresh, eggs are flat fee, and plenty of bacon. Finally, a healthy, casual, and affordable spot around the Wharf! I tried the sticky chicken & cashew, and it was delicious. Lots of flavors and very fresh tasting and healthy. Bok choy was super bland though--just grilled with no flavors in itself. As a Chinese-American person who grew up eating bok choy, I know how to make excellent tasty sauteed bok choy, and Americans clearly don't know how :) But anyway, aside from that, the salad was great and very filling. The portion was really huge (great for the price!), and my sister and I could barely finish it. Granted, we had split an acai bowl then a large sandwich (we had finished working out and were starving!) before alighting on this place, so we were already somewhat full lol. Came back a second time and tried the Salmon and Grilled Avocado. It was amazing!!! Was a 5 minute walk from the hotel and the food was spot on. I had the burger and potatoes. Great flavor and hit the spot on a cold, windy night. This is a tasty place! Seems like they put a lot of thought into their plates and combinations. I tried the chimichurri steak plate that came with grilled avocado with corn and beans. garlic parmesan smashed potatoes, ceasar salad and 2 slices of bread. My one critique is that the steak was a bit overcooked which made the meat tougher but the seasoning and flavor was good. It's a nice portion of food for the cost. I really loved the aqua frescas and ice teas -- the kale aqua fresca is delicious, not too sweet, not too kale forward :) and the passion fruit ice tea was also a big hit. Will be coming back to try the breakfast sandwiches and crab cake sandwich at some point soon! Appreciate the loyalty program for those of us in the neighborhood that will likely be back. read more

Nothing worth coming back for and nothing special about it. My wife had a salad that tastes stale and like it was just thrown together in a few seconds. She could barely finish it because the taste was so unappealing. The thing that really bothered me was the poor excuse for a $5 side dish that I ordered. The "Black bean & corn stuffed avocado" should be labeled as false advertising. It's simply just a teaspoon of corn and beans splattered on a quarter of an avocado for five dollars. I work upstairs, and was thrilled to find out the same young entrepreneur behind Toastique was branching out. I've been 4 times now and while It's overall delicious and great options, the delivery has been incredibly inconsistent. I've ordered the roasted chicken, and the Salmon and grilled avocado bowls, and each time they've come with different ingredients, or missing ones. I've had to ask them to put ingredients such as mushrooms on the roasted chicken bowl, or add salmon to the salmon and grilled avocado bowl. Both are marked gluten free, however each time I'm *not* asked whether I'd like bread but rather have had to yell to catch their attention each time to stop them from putting it on the bowl, one time not getting to it in-time and having to have them remake it, which is unfortunate. I really want to like this place overall, because the food is good, the convenience is great, and the people are friendly. However, the service is overall spotty and unreliable and I don't like having to instruct folks on how to prepare my food, or have a spike of panic each time something marked gluten free is about to be decimated with a slice of bread. The training needs work, and the line cooks need to either have more references to the ingredients available or spend some more time memorizing. read more

The best bang for your buck and it offers the healthiest food on DC's Wharf area. Most of the restaurants by the 'boardwalk' are good but more expensive than Chopsmith.
