We spontaneously drove from Connecticut to check this place out because it was trending on the kids tik tok for hours page, it's summer, and I was willing to be "fun-mom." There is a small parking lot, but we had no trouble finding a spot. It is unassuming from the outside but the inside is clean and cute with seating areas. You walk up to the counter and the gentleman was nice. We needed another minute because there were so many options. He handed us a paper menu and let us take our time. After we ordered, we were provided with a buzzer and when the order is done you get it yourself at the counter. Anything with Dubai chocolate is more expensive- we have the Dubai chocolate strawberry cups and it was decadent! It could be shareable, but we didn't drive that far to share! My son had a red velvet shake that he loved. He watched them put a whole piece of cake in his shake and mix it up! There are shakes, crepe, waffles- the options are endless and creative! We took Dubai chocolate bars to go ... 3 for $20. Not bad actually. If you're making it a destination, there are shopping centers with a lot of good restaurants and stores close by so you can make a day of it. @date_night_craves

I guess my taste buds have officially been ruined by the decadent richness of Choc NYC's chocolate cake. (And BTW, a slice there is only $7 -- and I can assure you it contains actual chocolate.) Today, I decided to patronize a local business: Chocolate House I had been craving a real chocolate fix, and although chocolate cake wasn't even advertised (which should've been my first clue), I called to ask if they sold it. They said yes. Fast forward a week later, and the craving was still alive, so I went in. I asked where the cakes were -- they were sitting in the refrigerator. I then asked if they were made on the premises. The answer was no. (Clue #2.) The gentleman behind the counter showed me all the cakes they had, but I made it clear I was only interested in the chocolate cake. I even asked if the middle layer was ganache, and he looked at me like, "What?" ( clue #3) Still, I proceeded with the purchase. Ten dollars for one slice. When I got home, it appeared that somewhere between the counter and my house, the slice had either been switched out or drenched in some sort of chocolate mixture when I wasn't looking. I understand the concept -- kind of like how Cheesecake Factory dresses up slices with whipped cream -- except this was a heavy drizzle of ultra-sugary chocolate coating that solidified over the cake. Here are my thoughts: the cake by itself would've been mediocre at best. It reminded me of a Devil's Food lava cake -- highly processed, very little real chocolate flavor. Then, adding insult to injury, they bathed it in what tasted like melted white and milk chocolate syrup... again, ultra-processed and minimal actual chocolate. Did it satisfy my chocolate cake craving? No. Would I try it again? Also no. Silly me -- why would I think I'd get authentic chocolate from a place called Chocolate House?

The Good: This place offers plenty of seating for both small and large groups. Our party of seven was able to fit comfortably by pushing a table against a booth and adding extra chairs. The staff was working hard to manage both take-out orders and dining-in guests. It was busy when we arrived and stayed that way throughout our visit. Parking can be tricky, but you can park next door at Shoprite and walk over--it's just a short distance away. The menu is entirely focused on desserts--ice cream, shakes, sweet crepes, waffles, and a chocolate fountain where they coat little donut-like pastries. They also offer a Dubai chocolate bar (which I haven't tried yet, but I like that it's a smaller bar and priced at $8). The Not-So-Good: Everything is extremely sweet here, and they are very generous with the Nutella. As I'm not a fan of Nutella, I opted for a cannoli crepe. Unfortunately, it was drenched in milk chocolate, mini chocolate chips, and had very little cannoli cream. The chocolate completely overpowered the cannoli, leaving the crepe with no taste of cannoli at all. Also, the crepe was undercooked, so the texture wasn't to my liking. Other people in my group also mentioned how sweet everything was, whether it was a crepe or waffle, due to the heavy-handed sauces and toppings. If I return, I'd definitely ask them to be more light-handed with the sauces and toppings. For me, this would be a 2.5-star experience.

Delicious food! I tried the coconut and almonds crepe and the peanut butter lovers crepe and they were both amazing! Highly recommend this place to others!

So glad Westchester got its first Chocolate House! I've been to their locations in the Bronx and NJ and you can't beat their extensive menu of delicious desserts. They have a chocolate fountain for dipping fruits, cannoli waffles, crepes, mini pancakes, ice cream, cheesecake, milkshakes, Dubai chocolate and so much more. Everything is fresh and made in-house. Staff is so lovely. Your hardest part will be deciding what to eat! Welcome to Westchester!

Place has been on my list for a long time. I was so surprised when I saw it in Yonkers. We tried the Dubai Crepe & it was amazing!! Hot chocolate is also made fresh with plant based milk options. Also everything is halal even the marshmallows! Space was very clean & organized. Staff was very friendly, so happy it's in Yonkers now I will be going back to try more items next time I'm in the area. Perfect warm sweet treats on a cold day.

To start, we shared the crispy brussel sprouts Charleston style. These were delicious with the tangy sauce and large flakes of parmesan cheese. For my main, I had the brunch wrap. It comes with chips, but I swapped for fries for an additional charge. The wrap was a good size; I had half and saved the rest for leftovers. It was tasty, but not a ton of flavor. The tater tots were nice and crispy and I enjoyed the fresh tomatoes and avocado. They gave me a huge portion of crinkle cut fries, which also would've been great with a little more seasoning, but they were good when dipped in mayo. My husband got the shrimp and grits and appreciated the large portion size as well. I had a lemonade to drink. It was refreshing since it wasn't overly sweet. Service was great. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Aesthetically, each table feels like a meal at a family dinner table; it's clear that they wanted that vibe to be translated, and it's done quite well. This is also supported by the service being very friendly and helpful in general. To eat, I had the French toast burger with sweet potato fries. Some others with me had various sides like regular fries and tater tots, and the same thing was present on them that tends not to be at most places: they were all perfectly salted/seasoned. It might seem immaterial, but it's a very good signal when something that simple--yet often neglected in favor of just using condiments to mask it--is executed well. If you're a burger place with fries that taste great without the need for a sauce or condiment, you're doing something right. The French toast burger was likewise fantastic, combining sweet and savory in a great way. To drink, we all got a communal pitcher of the only frozie they had available at the time: a kind of jungle juice vodka slushie. It, too, was great--worthy of multiple rounds. All in all, here's a place that I can't wait to give another visit.

The chocolate chip pancakes didn't need syrup at all. Portions were good. 5/5 Only thing that didn't go quite as well was the wait time. Waited a long time for the food to come out. Understandable. It was a busy Sunday. When the food came out we were a few minutes into our meal and we ordered another side of eggs. Never came, even after we finished our plates. Ultimately asked to cancel the order, which they thankfully allowed. Keeping the review at a 5 because everything else was good and wait times don't bother me as much, but plan accordingly if you are heading to brunch on a Sunday!

Over the past year or two though, the prices started to get a bit whacky so we started going less. I went today and it was awful. The food itself was okay, but there was only one poor waitstaff member for the entire restaurant. They had other people bringing out the food and drinks but the poor waitstaff member had their hands full. It took 25 minutes before our order was finally taken. I used to love the chocolate milk but now they charge the same price as before but give you a kiddie sized cup and you don't get free refills. We spoke to a staff member after we realized we didn't recognize anybody there. We were told the place had been bought out by a new management company and they cleaned house and got rid of the entire old staff, which is wild. They were all so wonderful before! The waitstaff member today was nice too, don't get me wrong, but it was crazy that all the familiar faces were gone. We were told all the kitchen workers were replaced too. Anyway, between my coworker and I, we got a cup of coffee, two eggs, 6 tiny pancakes, 3 strips of bacon, and a tiny sized chocolate milk for $39 (before adding tax and tip). Do with that what you will, but I think that's brutal. The prices have gone up too much considering they made the pancakes smaller and drinks smaller. It's just not worth it anymore.

We're so glad we did, because this hole in the wall turned out to be a diamond in the rough. With a nondescript exterior and limited signage, Foodies Diner is easy to miss. It's in an area with mainly houses and mixed use commercial buildings, but the space inside is cozy. I especially appreciated the way the owner greeted everyone who enters and thanked everyone who leaves with notable warmth and small-town friendliness. The menu reads like a true diner - with all-day breakfast and brunch options, as well as standard lunch fare. We ordered a Santa Fe salad and an L.A. burger - which comes with avocado, bacon, onion, lettuce, and tomatoes. The burger was pretty standard, but having it delivered on a warm brioche bun feels a little bit special. The accompanying fries were also great - crisp and potatoey on the inside. The salad, on the other hand, was a near triumph. Served on a large platter, there was a small field of well-seasoned chicken, shredded cheddar, vegetables, avocado, pico de gallo, and - best yet - some pieces of warm, toasted pita. I even sprinkled some pieces of bacon from my burger into this salad, and wow did that take it over the top. I dug into this salad with fair gusto and would absolutely come back for it...which is saying something, since I wouldn't expect to fall in love with a salad at a diner. Service was fantastic, and we were pleased with how reasonably priced our meal turned out to be. There's plenty of parking - either right out front or in the lot further back.
