Yummy ice cream on a very hot summer day! Yes, please. There is a flavor for everyone. I tried the salted caramel Oreo ice cream and it was DELICIOUS! The staff are friendly and it was quite busy when we first arrived so be prepared to stand on line. The line moved quickly which I appreciate with a five year old. Super small ice cream shop with A LOT to offer! The place is super cute and clean. It gave the vibe of a typical classic American ice cream shop. If you like ice cream - who doesn't? - then you have to try Longfords. The options seemed to be endless, and at the same time, you can't go wrong with whatever flavor(s) you pick. The space is large and bright. There are some seats and tables along the windows, which seem to have a constantly rotating set of customers. They are varying levels of tidy between customers, but it's not too big of a deal. There are lots of ice cream concoctions to try, as well, like shakes. I guess I'll need to keep coming back for more! read more

I travel internationally for work and leisure frequently but I have yet to find an ice cream shop that can compete with Longfords. There are some notable places in Manhattan but this place is literally in my top three in the world. The coconut mounds flavor is to die for and the pistachio puts everyone else's to shame. For the basic folks, the plain vanilla and Oreo blast are better than literally any other ice cream that you can get at any high end grocery store. My favorite restaurant in new Rochelle (Michelin rated) serves their ice cream for a good reason! The service here is top notch and the art work is fun. read more

I go to the Longfords in Rye , once in a while. They recently started accepting debit card payments. Used to be cash only. Was shopping in Larchmont and ordered my usual, chic chip mint on a sugar cone with chocolate sprinkles. The server gave me the cone and I gave him my debit card. He informed me that that I couldn't use my card for the purchase . I told him that I had no cash. He replied sorry, and gave me back my card and motioned for me to give him back the cone. I did. There are so many ways to have your ice cream from waffle and donut sundaes to banana splits. The best ice cream pretty much in Westchester and possibly even NYC. Wow! I usually get two scoops, and one of those scoops is always their coconut mounds flavor. Even my husband, who didn't like coconut, loves this ice cream. Their chocolate is very good, too. Employees are usually young kids, but they're all very polite and helpful. Prices are decent, too. Sadly disappointed in this establishment. Went in today for ice cream with my family and was excited for their flavors and various options. While the ice cream was delicious, the customer service reeked from the moment we walked in. We were rushed upon entering the door without time to process the menu, the server gave the 8 year old in our family attitude for wanting to try more than 1 of the flavors, she snapped at us when we ordered a milkshake, then slammed the milkshake on the counter in front of the 14 year old with a smug look on their face. This was our first visit and a surprise for the children who felt uncomfortable while inside the parlor. Being the only family of color, we noticed a hostile environment with customers staring us down and clearly moving tables and seats to be further away from us. Not worth the ice cream at all and would not return. read more

Longford's is close to work so I'm often in here in the middle of the day to satisfy that craving for ice cream. The tables are usually clean which is a big accomplishment with so much ice cream being consumed. The help is always friendly and I've never had to wait to be served. They have your typical assortment of flavors which some that are a little off the beaten path. If you're a health nut, you're on your own...I'm just a hot fudge sundae kind of guy. read more

From the service, to the many flavors of ice cream, it is hands down, one of the best in the NY area. They offer custom sundaes and their own pre-designed sundaes. In the corner of the place they have a little candy corner as well as a refrigerator with pre-packed pints and quarts. Hint: You can save a lot of money this way. They even have complimentary water so that you can quench your thirst after having your delicious ice cream. This place ranks right up there with places like Haagen Dazs and even surpasses them when it comes to the quality of certain flavors. The staff is always friendly, prompt, and responsive to customer needs. The only complaint I have is that they don't have enough seating in the place. Adorable. Great location, maybe needs a few more tables. Otherwise, a perfect local business that stays open pretty late to serve ice cream and dessert! Most of the coffee shops stay open only until about 6pm. This place doesn't have coffee (I wish they had coffee!), but they have a lot to satisfy a sweet tooth after dinner. They have sundaes with tons of toppings, waffle and crepe desserts, and custom donuts. Also outside, there are a few seats and tables. Lots of parking on the street and in the side streets, and it's a short walk from the metro station. Prices are average - we paid about $17 for a sundae and a crepe with bananas. Both were amazing. It's not big box ice cream and it was delicious, well worth the price for a nice treat. This is the kind of place you want to stay opened. Last time we were here late, there were young teens (maybe 14?) hanging out having ice cream together. Seems like a safe place for young people to hang out without getting into trouble. They also have a candy-by-the-pound bar, $7 a pound and lots of choices. Seems like the perfect place for anything sweet. read more

I wanted to love this ice cream shop but sadly cannot. Longford's is known for having delicious creamy ice cream. Sadly at this location, I found the ice cream to taste almost freezer burn and unlike the Longford quality I'm used to. Further, I couldn't help but notice a bit of an attitude from the girl that helped us and felt a sense of her wanting to rush us. Lastly she asked, "would you like to leave a tip for our staff?" I didn't hear her ask the party in front of us this question. My boyfriend was paying with a card so he whipped out $4 cash to give for a tip and handed it to her. She seemed shocked by the notion and said "oh" instead of thank you and stuffed it in the the tip jar outside the storefront. I couldn't help but notice the neighborhood is white and so was the party that was in front of us. So did she ask us to tip, because she wasn't expecting us to because we were black? Overall, just a subpar experience and I will not be returning. read more
