Vegetarian chili soup and veggie pita
    Leigh M.

This place is almost hidden on Boston Post road , right next door to the huge diner. This little cafe is nice and warm offering fresh in homemade food made daily. There is a wide variety of about five different hot entrees and usually three or more fresh (dairy free) soups . Along the back wall is a salad bar and they give you the option to combine many different meals with a salad. They also have a wide variety of vegetarian options . It's never that crowded I've been a few times now and the food is always fresh and the service is always very kind. It's the type of place i wish we had closer to Iona , since they shut down the eatery we really don't have anything in comparison to this . If it were even closer to me I am sure I would be there more often for a cup of hot soup . Yesterday I tried the vegetarian chili and it was good had nice taste just wish it has more of a variety of veggies . My boyfriend had the veggie delight or something similar on a pita and he always claims it hits the spot . So Swing by for the perfect lunch or dinner that will save you bundles on convince and money !

Everything was excellent and very fresh. The staff and owners so pleasant and accommodating. When I mentioned that I was visiting my sister at The Osborn assisted living and that she and my brother in law were craving Greek food. They very kindly threw in baklava made by the owners ' wife and waters. The Baklava was amazing. I will be back!

The falafel was good, but the falafel with warm pita was better. Part of the "toasted wraps" option, this came with tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and tzatziki sauce. It had wonderful flavor. I preferred it over the plain falafel and hummus. I had their traditional gyro sandwich, which is gyro, tzatziki, red onions, salt, pepper, paprika, and their special sauce, topped with fries. The gyro was fresh and moist, the flavors were tangy. We had the Greek fries, which were hot, crisp, with zesty, sharp feta cheese. We shared some deserts--the baklava, rice pudding, and kataifi (shredded phyllo on top). The baklava was too sweet for me, but my husband enjoyed it. I myself liked the baklava cheesecake, which added a sharper flavor that cut down on the sweetness. We have a juicy chicken souvlaki on a stick waiting for a snack later. Prices moderate to a little pricey, but quality, so would definitely do again.

We split several appetizers and one was better than the other. For dinner, I had the whole fish which was delicious! The others had various specials. The Filet Mignon was beautifully presented and was tender and perfectly cooked as were the Lamb Chops. The Pastitsio and Moussaka were also excellent! We split a few of the different desserts and they were all scrumptious and quite decadent . (Unfortunately, there were no leftovers for doggie bags)! All of the food portions were plentiful and everything was amazing. The food was absolutely superb! Anasa is the perfect choice for a celebration, family get together or even for a quiet romantic dinner. It does not disappoint!!

I hadn't had mediterranean in a while and I'm not head over heels for the place near me so I wanted to try something new. This place seemed decent enough. I ordered a greek salad and hummus with pita. There were varying gyros, another greek salad with chicken, some platters including the falafel platter that GF orderd. My salad was wonderful. The ingredients were fresh and that dressing was lovely. It was a salad I actually enjoyed instead of regretting the entire time I glared at my coworkers who ordered real shit with envy. The hummus was also very creamy, authentic hummus with a slightly different taste than I am used to but head and shoulders above any store bought bullshit. Everyone else said good shit about their food. I tried one of GF's falafel from her platter and it was really good. My only complaint is for $24 or whatever it is, i would expect more than a few falafel balls and one side. Kinda a rip off. But everything tasted really, really good.

Prix fixe lunch menu available Monday through Friday, 11:30 am - 3 pm. An ala carte menu is also available should you not want to partake in the prix fixe. Our picks from the prix fixe menu were: * Avgolemono soup - bright, lemony, and super comforting with chicken and orzo * Gyro with fries - gyro meat, Tzatziki , tomatoes and onions wrap in a pita (chicken also available) * Spanakopita - two spinach, leeks and feta, wrapped in phyllo dough topped with sesame seeds. These were baked to perfection with a delicious, well-balanced flavor that wasn't overpowering * Grilled chicken in pita with fig jam, fresh mozzarella, arugula, and salad. A delicious toasted pita sandwich with perfectly melted, chewy mozzarella that really brought all the flavors together. I love fig jam, and this sandwich was definitely my "jam!" The restaurant also offers outdoor seating, and the inside has a pretty, comfortable ambiance that makes you want to relax and stay awhile. The waitstaff was friendly, attentive, and always checking in at the right time. PRO TIP: do yourself a favor and skip the salad for the fries. Hand-cut, perfectly crispy, and loaded with delicious Mediterranean herbs and seasoning -- absolutely addictive.
