Great little hidden Gem..hiding right in plain sight. While there is no shortage of fine eateries in this surrounding area, this Family Owned Great little restaurant should not be overlooked. Yummy Traditional Turkish Cuisine, nice wine and drink menu, friendly staff, and clean / cozy dining room. ( they don't a lot of takeout too ) I had the pleasure of meeting Apo ( The owner ) who is a very nice guy. I thanked him for a lovely meal and wished him all the best luck..with food this good, I don't think he needs it. BTW - Best stuffed grape leaves I've ever had!!! Enjoy

Came here on a weekday for dinner for 2 and did not require a reservation, place was fairly empty and never got too crowded. The place had maybe 10 tables, but each table was fairly spacious from the next. Seating was very comfortable. It looks like they probably serve a lot of take out rather than dine in. Parking situation is pretty convenient around White Plains using the parking app. We were seated quickly and our orders were taken pretty efficiently. The waiter did not talk too much but definitely knew what he was doing so there was no issues there. I am not the most familiar with Turkish food, but seems similar to Mediterranean with their humus and kebabs and greek salad. Overall it was quite delicious! I got the ground lamb kebabs and my friend got the actual lamb kebabs and the flavoring was pretty amazing. One of the better kebabs I have had for sure! The price is very reasonable as well and I felt pretty satisfied with the meal. Definitely recommend for a quick bite!

Had dinner here as sort of an unofficial Yelp! event and really enjoyed the food. I think this place mostly does takeout but they have a few tables. You can place your order and they'll bring it to you. We had some Mixed Cold Appetizers (Hummus -Tabule - Lebni - Babaganush - Eggplant with tomato sauce) and the Sigara Boregi to start. Everything was great. I had the lamb and beef gyro and it was great! The meat was so flavorful and the pita was delicious too. It was also such a generous portion! My Turkish husband liked his iskender kebab, so as long as he's happy, I know it's good Turkish food!

I had a take out and very easy transactions at their link. Food was ready in 20 min and very fresh and authentic. We ordered chicken breast platte at $20.50, , shrimp platter at $21.95 and yogurt sauce. Everything is good and we loved the yogurt sauce. ($8) Prices are slightly high. But chicken, shrimp were pretty good quality. We ate more than we should!

My husband and I also one of our Yelp elite friend went there for a dinner. As a being Turkish since I move the to United States, whenever I have Turkish food I always get so much excited. So, we started with mix cold appetizers. Everything on that plate was extremely delicious and I definitely felt like I am in my hometown. People were so friendly and so welcoming. We also ordered a rolled pastry in the middle. I had many of rolled pastry but I never had like this one before. The pastry was so thin and very crusty. I loved it. As an entree I had an İskender. İskender was okay not bad at all. Thank you Turkish cusine.

Delivery order missing items, but what was delivered was inedible. Iskender kebab was awful - worst I've ever had and we couldn't eat it.

They truly care about your experience and are very attentive. The atmosphere is very pleasant, warm, and classy. The Labneh is a great starter to get for the table and my favorite entree is the ground beef koobideh with either the basmati rice or fries. In general I typically skip dessert wherever I go but at Shiraz I really enjoy the saffron ice cream. My family and I always have a great time at Shiraz and look forward to coming back again and again.

The stuffed feta dates were the good balance of sweet and savory, and the eggplant dip was incredibly smooth and rich without feeling heavy. A little extra seasoning could go a long way with the dip! For mains, the salmon was beautifully cooked and well-seasoned, and the lamb shank was a standout--tender, deeply flavorful, and comforting in the best way. The falafel had a great crisp on the outside while staying soft inside. You can really tell they put care into each dish. What made the night extra special was the birthday surprise: the sweetest baklava presentation that felt so warm and personal. It was such a thoughtful touch. We also ended the night with cappuccinos, hot chocolate, and an affogato (not pictured), which were the perfect cozy finish. Overall, Shiraz Kitchen strikes a great balance between elevated and welcoming. It's the kind of place that feels just as right for a celebration as it does for a relaxed dinner. Would absolutely come back.

The main benefit of that being I didn't have to decide what I was having for lunch. This was the choice. I like mediterranean because it tends to be slightly healthier than some other options. This place is right up my alley because of the vegetarian leaning options on the menu, which is another benefit of this particular cuisine. Having said that, there were quite a few choices for me. They have bowls, salads, soup, sandwiches, platters, I mean, it's endless. I was planning on taco bell for dinner so had to compensate somewhat with lunch and decided to build a salad. I did greens, their mix of rice and lentils, cauliflower, cabbage, pickles, hummus, hot sauce. I am not a big fan of spring mix and I wonder if maybe something hot caused the greens to wilt but they were way too wilty for me. That was not particularly appetizing but everything else was really tasty. The hummus, especially, holy shit. I could eat that with a spoon. Two of my colleagues got the jersualem falafel sandwich and raved about it. I tried some of their fries and that seasoning is a game changer. I also got the garlic dip (to eat at home, later, don't worry). I couldn't tell you what that substance is and idk if I even want to know but it is whipped lusciousness. I am also genuinely curious to know how much garlic they put in there because it literally BURNS. No concern for vampires for quite a while. Very tasty, would definitely order again.

Love this place!…read more This is my go to Indian spot. I love all of their food; it's delicious and fresh. My favorite dish to order here is the: chicken tikka masala. Anar is an Indian-Mediterranean restaurant close to the main Mamaroneck Ave strip and White Plains Hospital. The space used to be a straight-up Indian restaurant called India Cafe, but at the start of the pandemic last March they closed and never reopened (though they still operate a takeout spot a few doors down). Eventually after a refresh, Anar opened - though I suspect the owners are the same since the menu is similar to its predecessor. Anyway, I wasn't able to sit and eat but they offer takeout so I placed my order online and picked it up on my lunch break. The menu contains a number of Indian dishes as well as general Mediterranean fare. They have a dedicated lunch specials section, and the chicken shawarma roll on it looked good so I went with that. I also ordered the chili gobi, and one of my colleagues got the chicken pakora. The chicken shawarma was great, it was an ample size with a generous helping of chicken. The naan was great, and that white sauce really tied it all together. The chili gobi was tasty with just the right amount of spice - the cauliflower wasn't as crispy as I've had elsewhere, but the flavor was great. Service was good - my food was ready by the promised time, and was packaged neatly despite the risk of it getting messy with all the sauces and such. Overall, I had a great first experience at Anar. The food was tasty and they offer something not really seen elsewhere in White Plains - I'll be sure to return.
