Got it at the farmer's market in Katonah wrapped in tin foil and ready to go. Only drawback was it was tiny, would have loved a larger portion for $13. Limited experience, but I believe it was a telling one. We bought a number of chicken kebabs for a party. These were not kebabs, but just grilled/fried chicken breasts with some seasoning. They were very dry. They were never marinated and were not prepared on skewers. Now, who can tell me what defines a "kebab"? Let me go first: skewers, marinade, tender. They did supply a tub of "garlic sauce" of a strange taste and consistency. Overall it was a waste of money. We have a party of about 12 people and left with 95% of product by the end of it. I came in on a Monday afternoon and ordered a chicken gyro with no lettuce, extra red onions and french fries. The gentleman at the front was very nice and friendly, he took our order quickly and with a smile. There were plenty of tables and chairs available to eat in, but we needed to take our food to go. Our food came out about 5-10 minutes later and not only was it made quickly and exactly the way that we ordered it, but it was DELICIOUS. The chicken was so flavorful and the fries were nice and hot. Some of the most hospitable service you will find in Irvington. I've spoken with the employees/owners over the phone and in person, and each time they've been welcoming and accommodating. I am always happy to order here in part because I love supporting businesses that treat their customers right. The food is great fast-casual cooking with an authentic homemade feel. The standouts, by far, are the falafels -- either as a wrap or platter -- and dips. The baba ghanoush is garlicky and smokey, and the hummus has a prominent tahini flavor. If you prefer hummus with a stronger chickpea flavor, I'd recommend Lefteris Gryo; if you like tahini, it doesn't get much better than Irvington Delight. The chicken shawarma alone is good, if a bit dry, but wonderful when smothered in garlic sauce and shatta (hot sauce). The chicken gyro is solid, as is the Greek salad, though I was surprised to see the salad served with balsamic dressing. Wonderful customer service, delicious authentic foods, and the best falafel wrap I've ever had!!!! I was visiting New York City, and my friends took me on a trip into nature. We stopped into this lovely ma & pa deli style shop, and was blown awaaaaaayyyyy!!! Omg wish I could eat there every week. Lovely family, very friendly and welcoming! Shared stories and made connections! I was introduced to this delicious spread that had pistachios in it. I wish I could order that and have it shipped to me!! No, just no. Don't believe the hype. Yes, it's homemade and the specialties (house made stuffed grape leaves) can be nice standouts. But overall WAY overpriced, and average at best. Just not worthwhile, have left feeling ripped off on multiple occasions. I get it Irvington, you've got the $ and want to support local. Ordered delivery of Irvington Delight for the 3rd time and I'm still in love with this place. Every menu item is authentic and delicious, and leaves me wanting more. We've tried a large variety of their menu so far and it truly is the best option in the Rivertowns for truly authentic Middle Eastern food. Absolutely authentic and delicious. The hummus? World class. Also, best I've ever had (I lived in the east village of NYC for a decade). The establishment is VERY clean. It's a family run business and they're always pleasant and friendly. They take great pride in the authenticity of their food and that's very evident on every visit. The best hummus you'll ever taste. But not just one flavor, they make FRESH many different types of hummus. Our faves were mint hummus and basil hummus. The "plain" hummus is hardly plain, by the way. It's probably the richest, creamiest hummus I've ever tried. We also split the falafel wrap. Their falafel were big, moist and flavorful. With lots of the yummy stuff rolled up inside the wrap, including a pickle. We'll definitely be back to try more. Just a heads-up; this is a very low-key type of joint. It's more of a deli than a restaurant. But the owners are attentive and very proud of the high quality food they offer. It's really quite a gem. read more

Visited for the first time today! Stuffed grape leaves were out of this world! Made from scratch and so were the other dishes. The owner was nice enough to offer a sample of the both the meat and veggie version of their stuffed grape leaves. Both were delicious and I am hooked! The chicken shawarma was amazing! taste the garlic from their home made sauce and the hot sauce they also make was not over powering.The owner was exceptionally friendly and explained a bit about how the food is prepared and all the ingredients which made this meal just a bit more special. We ordered delivery and were very happy with the delivery time. The grilled veggies, hummus, falafel, baba, tabbouleh, and rice were all great. The pita did not seem, though may have been, home made, but it was soft and warm. I like to order kebab meat for the thicker cut because it stays moist, where the typical sliced meat is very dry, but I was disappointed that their chicken and lamb "kebab" dishes were both cut very thin and therefore were really dry. I would definitely order again, but wouldn't order meat. read more

If someone told me that my addiction to coffee would lead me to discover one of the best places in Irvington, NY, I'd laugh and say, "This addiction isn't going to discover anything but my body on the ground when I don't feed my need." But I'd be wrong. I stumbled into Irvington Delight early one morning in desperate need of coffee. My senses were awakened as I looked around: a huge breakfast and lunch menu, a large variety of snacks and drinks, homemade Mediterranean pastries, coffee. The coffee, for one, is great. It's cheap and does the trick. I ordered a plain cheese omelet one morning and it was one of the best I've ever had (and I go to a LOT of diners). One day for lunch I tried the Irvington Delight Combo in a whole wheat wrap (grilled chicken, bacon, provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, and ranch dressing) and it was STUNNINGLY delicious. It was made fresh right in front of my eyes and oozed with warm cheesy, chickeny, bacony goodness. Heaven on earth. I'm excited to try the traditional Mediterranean cuisine featured on the menu, especially because so many Yelpers rave about it. The people who work here are very friendly and will make you anything you want! Even if you stop by at noon and want eggs, they'll break out their breakfast magic and whip up a great brunch for you. FIVE Stars! My friend and I were on our way to a gig in Tarrytown last week and arrived in the area early, so we decided to look for a place where we could get a cup of coffee. Neither of us wanted Dunkin Doughnuts so we drove a bit until we saw this nice little, inviting corner store Irvington Delight. We figured we could get a nice cup of coffee there. The owner couldn't be friendlier. As we got our coffees, my friend realized he took the decaf by mistake. Without hesitation he said to take another cup and get the regular he wanted, no extra charge. At this point I heard some middle eastern music playing in the background. That got me curious, so I I took a step around to the food case and sure enough I noticed a bunch of middle eastern delicacies, most notably - Grape Leaves! I've had the pleasure of experiencing my wife's family's Grape Leaves, Humous, Kibbe, Baba Ganoush etc... and I know what the REAL DEAL is. Further, even as an Italian-American I can still say that there is no food I'd rather eat than REAL middle eastern cuisine. It's just indescribably delicious, and my mother-in-law, and my wife's grandmother were masters. Since they're no longer with us, we only have "Syrian" food on rare occasions. I asked the owner if these were real middle eastern grape leaves, and he told me absolutely.....that it was all homemade. The grape leaves come from his own vine (just like my wife's family had always done), and then he proceeded to giving us samples of EVERYTHING! The grape leaves were delicious, made with lamb, and indeed the REAL DEAL. He also gave us samples of homemade humous, which was creamy and amazing with just the right amount of (the often missing) Tahini flavor. Then we tried the Baba Ganoush, and again it was creamy and delicious, and definitely unlike any commercially available product you'll find in a Costco or wherever. I just "needed" to buy a dozen grape leaves to take with me, though the owner didn't pressure us to purchase anything more than the 2 cups of coffee we bought, even with all the samples he gave us. I guess he was content to let his food do the work? I'll add that for all the work that goes into making grape leaves, $10.00 for 1 dozen was incredibly inexpensive. What a wonderful experience it was to visit Irvington Delight! I live in Staten Island, but I will not hesitate to make the trip up to Irvington to buy some of these amazing delicacies. This is a great, authentic spot with fresh food that is made to order. I had been anticipating its opening and glad that I finally made my way there. The owner takes great pride in his food and was very helpful in suggesting that I order the falafel combo. The fresh, warm and perfectly crisp falafels were accompanied with creamy baba ganouj, and delicious, homemade hummus. Three stars for now. I'd like to try more of their stuff. We encountered nice efficient staff. We were greeted and treated well on a take out order late at night. I had the lamb gyro and my wife ordered the chicken and rice. My only two gripes are that the gyro comes with a pita that's too soft and unstable. The meat and seasoning on the gyro are good though. Their chicken was also way too dry. The highlight of our visit was the rice. Soooo flavorful that I'm going to go back and order a ton of it. Next time I'll do the kebabs with the awesome rice.
