Ragu risotto ball & prosciutto sandwich. Both absolutely delicious.
    Mike N.

I tried diRiso for lunch today and very happy I did. Will definitely be back. Tried a ragu risotto ball & a prosciutto sandwich. Both were amazing. The sandwich was served on fresh, crisp bread with truffle oil, mozzarella, and peppers and was as close to perfect as a sandwich can be. The risotto ball was pretty huge and was also crisp and delicious. Definitely the best I've ever had. Service was friendly and fast too. Overall great experience. I'm including a pic but it doesn't really do either item justice - including mainly to show how big the risotto balls are.

Amazing little Italian place, looks like the owners really put their heart into this little lunch spot and I would recommend it to anyone. Amazing sandwiches and ever changing items. Sounds like soups and calzone may be available in the future, can't wait. The sandwich game is really top-notch here. Appreciate the authenticity as well.

Prices are astronomical, food is okay. I would try again if there prices were brought down a notch.

Their sandwiches are toasted on this great panini like bread and you definitely leave feeling full. The staff are friendly and was patient while I looked over the menu. I ended up getting the brisket sandwich which came with a bag of chips (around $16). I love how this area is located in this quaint village of hastings on Hudson. The food was very tasty. The brisket sandwich had succulent meat that fell apart amid a bed of cheddar and a honey barbecue sauce. The portions to me are kinda big so I ate half for lunch and the other for dinner.

After being greeted with a smile by Antonio one of the twin brothers who own the shop I ordered. The owners can't be nicer and show a real love of food. My wife got an eggplant wrap with roasted red peppers and I got the Roast Beast a roastbeef on garlic chiabatta, both were delicious. The eggplant paper thin and the housemade roastbeef rare and super tender. The sandwiches were very large, but after eating half we both continued to eat the whole sandwich. I also had their potato salad and this had the right consistency and seasoning. They also have some nice desserts, some homemade some from good sources. I asked about their breakfast being good, "i am making homemade English muffins for the morning" The tiny space with a few tables has Italian products that are well chosen breadsticks, pasta, etc. Oh the sandwiches come with your choice of flavors. We are no longer skeptical and will be back soon.

I used to exclusively go here only in spring and enjoy the outdoor space. I've gone multiple times now in winter. They have nice flowers and art inside which is very nice to enjoy. For food we got the stuffed Sicilian, delicious. Then for entrees we got the pasta your way. We did penne alla vodka and added a crispy chicken cutlet. Their cutlets are nice and thin and crispy. Fantastic. Out guests really enjoyed and we will be back.

Unfortunately, he was extremely dismissive and simply said no, then added that there were no tables available for us--which was odd considering the group right after us got seated immediately. I'm not sure if it was how we were dressed or what, but his overall attitude felt very cold and unwelcoming. We ended up sitting at the bar, and to be fair, Bill did help coordinate with the bartender Ana to get us seats together, which I appreciated. Ana herself was kind and attentive, though when we asked for food recommendations, she mostly just said "everything is great." I personally prefer a bit more honest guidance. For food, we shared the Hot Honey Roni Sicilian, Caesar salad, and calamari fritti. The pizza was definitely the highlight--super delicious and satisfying, especially as my first time trying that style. The Caesar salad was good, but for $16, I found the portion a bit small. The calamari was also solid, though we didn't love the sauce it came with. While we were eating, Bill noticed where we had placed our bikes (near the stairs where we could keep an eye on them) and came over rather abruptly, asking why they were in "his garden." Even after my friend apologized, he just walked away. His overall presence throughout the visit really hurt the experience--definitely not the kind of hospitality you expect. Overall, the experience was okay. The drinks were good, and my friend and I always make the best of things, but for the price point (about $80 each with two drinks and tip), I expected better service and slightly more generous portions. I'd consider going back, especially if we're biking in the area again--but next time, we'll definitely bring bike locks...and avoid the garden

The rigatoni was tasty but the pasta was overcooked. Maybe that's a function of getting pasta delivered where it keeps cooking on the way... I like how they did the Caesar. Shaved parmigiana with the (very good) dressing on the side. All in all, the pizza roll and the Caesar salad were the best things we had. The pizza was good, not great (crust was a little soft. Cheese was ok. Super light on the sauce). I wouldn't get the pasta to go - maybe try again for eat-in. The cheesecake piece was insultingly small. Original 1 star rating: AVOID!!!!!!!!! I ordered online and had the thin crust marinara and basil pizza and I added extra toppings on half. I also ordered a pizza roll with chicken and a piece of cheesecake. THE PIZZA HAD NO CHEESE!!! (Picture attached). And when I called to ask about it, they said that's by design. You would think if they were selling a pizza with no cheese (for a higher price than the regular pizza), it would say "NO CHEESE". Also, they put toppings on the whole pizza. So dinner with my kids (who only eat cheese pizza) was ruined. I do want to point out that the pizza roll was very good. However, the cheesecake piece was tiny (picture attached). After checking the menu to confirm that it doesn't say "no cheese", I called back and they said "thanks for the feedback". I gave them two chances to make it right. After a long day of travel and looking forward to a good slice of NY Pizza, this was a huge letdown. UPDATE: They called me this morning to apologize. They thought they had taken that menu item down exactly because of this kind of confusion over the cheese but a recent systems update seems to have inadvertently added it back to their online menu without the proper explanation. They have offered me a free pizza to make this right. The explanation and the offer seem reasonable and genuine. I will give them another shot.

The pizzas are outstanding truly some of the best you'll find anywhere. The crust, cheese, and toppings all feel thoughtfully sourced and well executed. The pastas are also excellent, with that same fresh, clean flavor profile. The only thing that keeps me from giving a full five stars is the inconsistency with the Italian torta dessert. It's delicious, but the presentation varies: sometimes it comes with strawberries, other times it doesn't, and it even differs from table to table. When it's made the same way every time, it's a perfect finish to the meal. If I were to order that salad again, I would definitely get some kind of protein on it. I ordered a bottle of Pellegrino not realizing it was a giant bottle and not one of the smaller ones. But since we wrapped up with errands in the area, Scaramella's was it. Located in a mini strip mall in Dobbs Ferry, Scaramella's is very old-school- but with a splash of class and then some. Once you pass the foyer, their bar area greets you followed by their large dining room. At about 5pm on a Saturday, you can be seated with no issues. Any time after that, folks start piling up. Our server Anne Marie was no bull-shitter; got to the chase when she gave me a hush-hush tip on a Pear Salad I was eyeing. She's my girl alright. Our appetizers, were plentiful and tasty. Forget our main plates- because if you think you'll be getting a polite portion of pasta or any meal at that- think again. I honestly don't know if hub's spinach pasta was homemade- but that sucker was good. My $40 Swordfish+fresh carrots with an unexpected corn+ spinach medley, was tasty and abundant. Actually, I had leftovers. Can I also mention that these folks don't play around with their pours because my Lemon Drop was potent! Listen, I don't care that Scaramella's is located in strip mall or that my auntie-in-law didn't enjoy her meal years ago. From the looks of it, this place is happy-loud and has character. And no, it's not totally easy to park outside. That aside, our meals were satisfying, well-priced and the happy chaos, is all part of Scaramella's local charm.
