Then, when I try to get the employees attention, I'm shrugged off and ignored. We came in here at 940 pm not expecting much. I was still surprised. They were working fervently to get out at 10pm not close at 10. So most of the food was already out of bins and not filled for need. The employees glared at us the entire time, snapped at my wife who is soft spoken while their music was too loud for us to talk at room tone, nobody else was there so there shouldn't have been that much of a bother. As I'm tipping cash and paying for what food we for, they literally throw our orders in a bag, toss shove it across the counter at us, make a grumble remark and we hurried out. This place is a joke. I will never go back here. There's about 6 people in the front and somehow it takes 10-15 minutes per person to be served. They're all sitting on their phones, talking, doing the bare minimum. Meanwhile they spend a solid minute wrapping a burrito. It's unbelievable. They also charge you extra for guacamole, which wouldn't be a huge issue if they informed you of it before they put it on. But the price is ludicrous ($2.50 extra!) It's also terribly designed. Also, as you walk in, there's a huge lamp hanging from the ceiling, blocking the menu. So you don't have time to read it, until they're already asking to take your order. This store is a joke. Not to mention the location. This shopping center is already the clogged artery of Riverside. This store adds nothing to the area, and just makes going there for any other purpose a nightmare. Tried to order delivery from them, paid, and was told on their website it would be arriving in an hour. Since they deliver through doordash one of the doordash drivers was supposed to deliver it. An hour later I check on my order and it apparently got cancelled because Chipotle wouldn't make the order. Didn't bother to call or give an explanation as to why they didn't make my order, had to find out myself after an hour of waiting. I've been going to this place for 2 years. Quality has varied but overall ok. I order at the counter and eat in the store. Couldn't do this for a while due to Covid but now you can dine in again. Anyway, I walk in there and walk to the counter and wait to order. I'm used to having to wait a minute or so for the worker to complete an online order before helping me which is no big deal. I'm patient. Well, this time I'm standing there for literally 5 minutes and the worker doesn't even acknowledge my existence. Finally another worker says, in very broken English, online orders only. From my experience eating at this Chipotle location last night, I see no reason why it has the bad reviews that others have left. The line was long when I arrived, but the employees kept it moving nicely and I got my food without too much of a wait. The food was fresh and flavored correctly, they served up big portions (even gave me some extra rice and meat when I asked for it), and the place was clean. In fact, the guy who ordered a burrito in front of me was laughing because the employees had stuffed so much food into it that they were having to use two pieces of foil to wrap it! Worst costumer service here. I placed a delivery order through the chipotle app. I'm waiting, app estimated time of arrival is 1:10. It's almost 30 minutes later after that time that I decided to call door dash and she explained how she's been waiting there for 30 minutes as well because chipotle didn't have the order and they were making it. Then 5 minutes later the app said the order was cancelled so I then called the restaurant and spoke to the manager Jose. First the phone sounds awful !!!! *You can't hear them, can't have a normal conversation with them* he took the phone and said my order would be delivered to my house and that one of the employees would take my order. Said and done. I'm waiting another 30 minutes so I decided to call the restaurant again. Just to get notified that, I had to go pick it up. The people who work there are very rude and obnoxious. One of the servers says to my 21 year old sister "I don't serve customers who don't say please and thank you after each topping." My sister isn't a kid and no one should be spoken to that way. On top of that they gave my mother complete wrong order. This is hands down one of the best Chipotle's I have ever been to! I was a bit worried by the rating and was thinking of not going here, but I was too lazy to drive to Stamford for more restaurant options. I do have to agree with others on the fact of the question of "Who designed this place!?". I thought at first that there was only one table. Thankfully I looked to the right and saw the separate room. But back to my experience! In Northern Virginia, many Chipotles are uncommunicative, dirty, and poor food quality. It's sad to the point that other businesses are following in an almost the same business model. I was very surprised at the efficient pace the employees were moving at. Their communication was great. The food looked very good and tasted just as good. Everything tasted fresh and the meat was juicy to the point of me reminiscing when Chipotle was consistently good at almost every restaurant. The Dining Area was very clean. An employee came around cleaning trash and, get this, asked if the food was ok and offered to take any trash. This was a first for me, ever, at a Chipotle! I was shocked for a long time, because it is rare for a Chipotle employee to clean the Dining Area, let alone interact with customers and their experiences. I would highly recommend this place to others and I will keep this place in mind next time I am in town! read more
