Y'all are tripping if this is #1 in CT for Mexican food. Absolutely not. The shrimp taco had tasty seasoned shrimp, but it was just some shrimp thrown in a double corn tortilla with a whole bunch of lettuce on top with a lemon wedge. Not even some sliced onion or cilantro. ¿Que? That's not worthy of being called #1. I also had the burrito which was tasty but a little too heavy on the beans, which overpowered the flavors of the steak and everything else. It just tasted like I was eating beans, some unidentifiable meat, roasted peppers and some cheese thrown in a tortilla. But I'm a fat boy at heart so I still ate all of it after I hit it up with some Cholula. The 3rd star is for portion size, which they did good with. The food put me right to bed. Instant itis. Which also reminds me; I didn't like the green or reddish spicy sauces. The green was bland and the spicy sauce was too hot and not flavorful enough. I might give them another shot if in the area but the trucks at New Haven Long Wharf are much better than this spot.

Ordered Steak nachos delivered. Great quality meat, kind of soggy chips. Wish they could add jalapeños! Still 4 starts because the meat quality and avocado were great and I still enjoyed

"So good" would be an understatement, this food truck is incredibly delicious. I wasn't sure what was in some of the items but the girl at the register was knowledgable and patient while explaining each item to me. It was in the negatives with windchill when we went last weekend but SO worth it. I ordered the Burrito Chilango, SO much food. Ate half which filled me up then enjoyed he other half later. Loved the sauce it came with too. Steak was cooked perfectly, medium rare. Glad the approximate address was close to where it was parked. Will stop here again if I'm ever back in the area.

MOLDY OLD HARD GRAINY TAMALE. Literally had white fuzzy mold on it and I will never eat from el chilito ever ever ever ever again. Nachos were just ok. But selling moldy food is not something I'll look past.

Fish, pork and pineapple, and chorizo tacos

The best tacos I've had! I always get tacos from El Charrito. My fav are fish, pork w pineapple, and chorizo tacos. And OMG, the HOT sauce! I wish I can just order the sauce to go! Even though the truck isn't located in the best part of Stamford, but hey! It's opposite from a strip club! and there's a small grass field nearby with a few benches that you can sit and enjoy your tacos. I usually eat tacos in my car when it's cold out. You should never wait until you get home! Eat them fresh! Don't want your tacos to get cold and soggy, am I right?? Food is cheap, fast, and tasty .. what's not to love!!

    Red mole enchiladas

So last night, we had El Charrito again. This time I ordered the Red Mole Enchiladas. The echiladas are stuffed with a spiced, pulled chicken. (see picture) On top of the enchiladas is shredded lettuce, cheese and a sour cream type sauce. I also could not help myself from ordering another Al Pastor taco to bring for lunch today. (the pic is of 2 Al Pastors and 1 Bistek) We also ordered their chips and their pico de gallo. Their pico is super fresh and delish.

Love the tacos(beef tongue are so tender amd pork & prok skin was amazing) it's inexpensive. The only thing i will say is the steak is too dry. I love the lime they gave to go with the tacos and topped with lots of onions and cilantros. Yum

Don't look at the car, taste the Tacos ;)))

Growing up in a Mexican heritage household, Coronado was raised on traditional made-from-scratch dishes that are commonly found in Northern and Central Mexico. Eventually she decided to open up her own restaurant at Stamford's High Ridge Shopping Center. For over 30 years, Olé Molé has been offering consumers authentic Mexican cuisine crafted with consistent quality and fresh ingredients. The menu offers traditional staples such as enchiladas, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, tacos, tamales, and tostadas. At one point, Olé Molé had additional locations in the nearby towns of Darien, Southport, and Fairfield, but they have since closed. My wife and I recently had lunch at Olé Molé. She is a Stamford native and has eaten here multiple times, but it was the first visit for me. We met up with my wife's parents. The interior is cozy and inviting. Margaritas sounded like a great way to get the fiesta started. I had the "Margarita Olé" (tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, triple sec, agave), my wife had "Mango" (tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, triple sec, agave, mango puree), and my mother-in-law had "Strawberry" (tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, triple sec, agave, strawberry puree). They were just what the doctor ordered! We also ordered some delicious "Guacamole" (fresh Hass avocado, jalapeño, onion, garlic & cilantro w/ chips) for the table. For entrees, I had the "Quesadilla Del Mar" (grilled shrimp, sliced avocado, spinach, tomato, grilled onion, Monterey Jack), my wife had the "Grilled Shrimp Fajitas" (grilled w/ peppers & onion, served w/ guacamole), my father-in-law had the "Vegetariano Burrito" (vegetables, beans & cheese w/ salsa fresca), and my mother-in-law had the "Enchiladas Suizas" (shredded chicken, vegetables & cheese in red corn tortillas, topped w/ salsa verde & mole negro). Everything tasted so fresh, flavorful, and authentic! The staff were lovely too! I had an excellent experience at Olé Molé and I would love to enjoy their Mexican food again soon!

Generously sized and well priced, good looking tacos. I enjoyed them with one exception. In NorCal, I am used to, crispy, browned carnitas. On the east coast, it's more like just "fatty mushy pork with occasional pieces of cartilage" :P I think this place is fine as long as you're not a carnitas snob like me. I'll probably come here again and just stick to carne asada y pollo.

Review for El Torito - Stamford, CT…read more So there I was on a blazing Monday afternoon, car in the shop, stomach growling like a telenovela villain--and El Torito just happened to be down the block, calling my name like a tortilla whisperer. From the outside, it's humble. Picnic tables chillin' under the trees like they're on siesta. Step inside, and it's got that cozy, no-frills, straight-up neighborhood vibe. A handful of tables, a big ol' fan, because air conditioning? Not today. And a TV on the wall pumping out reggaetón to keep things spicy. The place had a steady stream of locals rolling in for takeout, which is always a good sign in my book. The menu? A glorious cross-cultural Latin American mixtape. Mexican, Salvadoran, maybe even some Peruvian influence--it's like taking your taste buds on a backpacking trip without the altitude sickness. Bonus points for menu photos so you don't end up accidentally ordering goat brain stew (unless that's your thing). I ordered up the carne asada and a cold Coke, then sat back and let the meat magic happen. A few scrolls into my phone, my plate arrived - and Ay Güey, it was a vision. Grilled steak, marinated to perfection, lounging on a soft bed of Mexican rice, crowned with whole grilled green onions like a steak tiara. A side of creamy pinto beans, fresh tortillas, and two salsas: one a chunky pico de gallo(well, sort of), the other a smooth firewater(mild). And let me tell you - I devoured it. That carne asada didn't stand a chance. The meat was tender, smoky, and full of flavor. The rice was fluffy, the beans velvety, and everything was hot and fresh. No bite left behind. Paid at the counter with a smile on my face and carne-ful soul. El Torito isn't trying to impress you with bells and whistles--it's just bringing the heat with real-deal Latin American flavor, honest portions, and friendly vibes. Come hungry. Leave happy. Maybe a little sweaty.
