Growing up in a Mexican heritage household, Coronado was raised on traditional made-from-scratch dishes that are commonly found in Northern and Central Mexico. Eventually she decided to open up her own restaurant at Stamford's High Ridge Shopping Center. For over 30 years, Olé Molé has been offering consumers authentic Mexican cuisine crafted with consistent quality and fresh ingredients. The menu offers traditional staples such as enchiladas, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, tacos, tamales, and tostadas. At one point, Olé Molé had additional locations in the nearby towns of Darien, Southport, and Fairfield, but they have since closed. My wife and I recently had lunch at Olé Molé. She is a Stamford native and has eaten here multiple times, but it was the first visit for me. We met up with my wife's parents. The interior is cozy and inviting. Margaritas sounded like a great way to get the fiesta started. I had the "Margarita Olé" (tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, triple sec, agave), my wife had "Mango" (tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, triple sec, agave, mango puree), and my mother-in-law had "Strawberry" (tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, triple sec, agave, strawberry puree). They were just what the doctor ordered! We also ordered some delicious "Guacamole" (fresh Hass avocado, jalapeño, onion, garlic & cilantro w/ chips) for the table. For entrees, I had the "Quesadilla Del Mar" (grilled shrimp, sliced avocado, spinach, tomato, grilled onion, Monterey Jack), my wife had the "Grilled Shrimp Fajitas" (grilled w/ peppers & onion, served w/ guacamole), my father-in-law had the "Vegetariano Burrito" (vegetables, beans & cheese w/ salsa fresca), and my mother-in-law had the "Enchiladas Suizas" (shredded chicken, vegetables & cheese in red corn tortillas, topped w/ salsa verde & mole negro). Everything tasted so fresh, flavorful, and authentic! The staff were lovely too! I had an excellent experience at Olé Molé and I would love to enjoy their Mexican food again soon!

I went to Tequila Mockingbird for the first time last night for dinner, and it was delicious!…read moreLocated in the heart of downtown New Canaan, this local Mexican spot looks small from the outside, but once you get inside it's actually pretty big! I had 6:30 reservations for dinner and was seated right away. To drink I ordered a margarita, which was delicious! Not too strong and tasted fresh. I read on their website that their bartenders actually attend "Tequila School" in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico, and additionally the entire staff have taken classes provided by the Mexican government. So ya, they really do know how to make the perfect margarita! For appetizers I ordered the elote (Mexican street corn with chipotle mayo and cojita cheese) and the Cowboy Queso with tortilla chips. The elote was delicious and not too spicy. The corn is still on the cob, and they give you a knife which you use to shave the kernels off. The queso was absolutely amazing, some of the best I've ever had! For my meal, I ordered the Pick 3 Combination Plate, and chose Skirt Steak tacos, chicken quesadillas, and chicken enchiladas. All were so good! The steak tacos especially were tender and delicious. I liked the combination plate because it allowed me to sample a couple different items from their menu. It also came with rice and beans. Their dessert menu is fairly small, with just the options of churros or tres leches cake. I went with the churros, which came with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, and they were drizzled with a raspberry sauce. So good! The churros were warm and I was surprised to find they actually had caramel sauce in the center (rather than on the side to dip them into). Excellent! The service was extremely fast considering it was fairly busy when I went. The waiter, Roberto, was very friendly and funny. Even the manager came over twice to ask how everything was. I would absolutely recommend this spot if you're looking for some delicious Mexican cuisine!

THE FOOD IS TRULY DELICIOUS!…read more But twice in the span of a month the restaurant has left me & my family hanging via Grubhub. In the first instance, they accepted and confirmed the order by email and text -- only to cancel it almost a half hour later (went home early for the night?). Today, the order was accepted and a 'meal being prepared' email with a pickup time was sent, but when I went to pickup, they were completely closed. Sign said closed Tues, but today is a Weds. Maybe new business hours? I love supporting great local businesses -- but you *cannot* accept orders then not fulfill them. This was seemingly the restaurant's fault both times (not Grubhub's), hence my 2 star rating.

I would gladly make the 2.5 hour trip to come back and eat again. The prices were very fair for the quality and quantity of food that you get. The steak was clearly fresh and flavorful. My…read morecoworker recommended this location, mentioning that the Chorizo Tacos were her favorite, so I decided to visit. The establishment is located at the corner of the street, and parking may be limited due to its placement on a one-way street. Fortunately, I was able to find parking nearby. Since this is in Stamford's downtown area, please be prepared for potential parking challenges. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted and asked whether I preferred to dine in or take out. I chose to dine in to experience the ambiance fully. I was informed that I could sit anywhere, and I placed my order: chorizo, Birria, steak, Al Pastor with pineapple, and pork carnitas tacos. My order was served in approximately fifteen minutes. The Chorizo taco was very flavorful and enjoyable, and I agree with my coworker that it was excellent. The Al Pastor taco with pineapple was good, though I found the pineapple flavor could be a bit more pronounced, and I personally would prefer less fat on the meat. The steak taco was tasty but a little dry; the meat was well-cooked and flavorful, but it lacked moisture. The Birria taco was acceptable, with each establishment offering its own unique take; this one used a soft tortilla, whereas I typically enjoy mine with a crunch and served with consommé broth. It was satisfactory but slightly on the dry side. The pork carnitas taco was flavorful and satisfying. Overall, if I return, I would especially recommend the Chorizo tacos, as they stood out to me. The customer service was courteous and attentive, and I appreciate supporting small, family-operated businesses. I would be happy to visit again.
