Great spot to dine in Seattle if you're into seafood and you don't care to find street parking. The clam chowder New Jersey style (half red/half white) was pretty darn delicious. Not the best clam chowder I've had however, love that they have the variety of two types mixed in. If there's anything I like about choices in life is being able to choose BOTH sometime. ;) Wild Salmon Tacos are delicious and probably some of the best salmon I've ever had in a taco or burrito. Service was just A-OK. And to be quite honest, the view was not as picturesque as I thought it would be. Just docks with tons of boats to look at. I went to Chinook's over the summer with family after a memorial service for my dad - he grew up in Seattle and Chinook's was his MUST stop dinner anytime he went back. I finally got to try it, and I understand why! First of all, the atmosphere is lovely - a little above casual, but you won't stick out like a sore thumb in jeans by any means. It seems like every seat in the dining room provides picturesque views of the fishing boats in the docks. I had a lunch special of a wild rice teriyaki salmon bowl and it was to die for! I'm not a huge seafood fan, but I knew it would be a disgrace not to indulge in some seafood while in Seattle, and I was so glad that it was here! Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meal (it seems like there's nothing bad on the menu since we tried about half of it) and the service was fabulous! What can I say, nice view and amazing food! We ordered the Dungeness Crab Cake Bowl and New Orleans Bowl (not so sure about the names). Both were delicious; the crab cake was really fresh and not overly seasoned, scrambled eggs were fluffy, and the potatoes were cooked to perfection. We devoured half the scones in the basket before taking the picture, and that's how good they are. Both the scone and butter spread were made in the house. Really solid place for basic no-frills seafood. Got the oysters to start which were nice and fresh followed by the crab roll. They are pretty generous with the amount of crab that they use for the stuffing and the roll itself is nice and buttery. HOWEVER, the real winner was the warm focaccia bread!!! Simply amazing! I brought friends from out of town to Chinooks for lunch after visiting the locks. Food was great and people were nice up until the point our server spilled my full glass of wine. The wine spilled on my phone and purse, but I was able to clean it up. When I asked for a replacement glass of the premium wine I purchased, I was told they did not sell that wine by the glass. I had paid for a bottle of wine outside of the glass menu so I knew it was not on the glass list. They refused to replace my glass of wine with the wine I purchased and said they could only replace it with a glass they sell by the glass. I spoke with the manager and she stood by their policy but offered to let me buy another bottle to replace the glass of wine the server had spilled. Very disappointing customer service attitude. Not only will I not return, I will no longer bring out of town guests or recommend Chinooks in the future. read more

Came here for lunch today - on a Sunday afternoon after a hike at Discovery Park. Ordered the Atlantic Cod Fish and Chips and the Boston Clam Chowder. The Chowder was really creamy (not as creamy as Pike Place Market's Chowder) and was full of clam and potatoes. The Fish and Chips were delicious! This place is much bigger than I was expecting and definitely seems like a great place to host a larger party. I was fortunate enough to get sat by the window and the view was wonderful. I wasn't very hungry when I arrived and ordered the mussel and clam appetizer and the hearts of romaine with hazelnuts salad. The appetizer tasted super fresh and light and much to my delight there were no empty shells. The salad had a tad too much dressing on it for my liking but still super tasty and hit the spot. I finally ate here for the first time when I had close friends coming to visit from out of town. I knew that Chinooks would be good, and it did not disappoint! We loved everything! I got a cup of the oyster stew to start and pan seared oysters as my main meal. Absolutely delicious! A definite treat for out-of-towners to get a test of fresh Northwest seafood or perfect for a yummy local lunch or dinner. I love Chinooks. A few years ago they were purchased by Anthony's Homeport and are now under their umbrella, however, you can still get their AMAZING homemade cannery focaccia bread and that favorite of many, crab and shrimp omelette! It's under the radar... but I've ordered that crab and shrimp omelette anytime, despite the fact they removed it from the menu. Things that make you go, "hmmmmm"... but hey, at least they still serve it! Brunch on the weekends or a great lunch and dinner 7 days a week... it's excellent. I'll be honest, I was the first to try some new items like their biscuits and gravy, or some other new dishes and I gave my honest feedback of 1-2 stars. Nice try but, "Meh". And... they improved! This restaurant has been a go to for family celebrations, or for taking out of town visitors. The food used to be consistently good along with the service. We ate here on Sunday, July 30th. The food was lacking flavor. We ordered the char grilled salmon and halibut and chips. The salmon lacked flavor and our potatoes were hard and the broccoli was overcooked. Our waiter was superb though, his name is Oliver and he was on point. Our bill was $178 and the food fell short and did not measure up to the price point. read more

This place is nicely located and perfectly maintained . I like the way open kitchen and the bar in the center . The light fixtures really lighten up the place in the evening . The lady asked us to wait for 20 mins if looking for a table . We just went straight to bar seat instead , few seconds after the lady mentioned the table is ready . These people work in little mundane standards with tiny bit of lacking coordination . Our waiter made us to wait at least 15 minutes at every phase between greeting and getting the check . The service is slow. Food was tasty but the portion is not up-to the mark as per the listed price . I am happy either way because they serve bread (without butter ) but that was delicious and fresh . Little unusual the waiter asked us if we are waiting to be served any food after she took the order . Clearly she forgot us in the long break . On a Saturday night, it was quite busy, but we didn't have any trouble getting seated in the bar area with a great view of the harbor. Happy hour deals didn't look too great (you only save 50 cents on beer) so we opted for the dinner menu. I came with frequenters of the restaurant who mentioned how prices have gone up (not surprisingly). The service was fast and friendly even with it being so busy. Prices were a bit high, but the seafood is fresh and portions are decent. Things I tried: Cannery bread-- very delicious. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. This has to be some of the best free bread I've ever had (note that it's $2 with HH food) Chowder-- quite tasty! Nice thickness and consistency. It goes really well with the cannery bread. Salmon fish n chips-- the salmon was quite good though it didn't feel like anything special. The fries were quite good with a great amount of crisp and favoring/saltiness. Oyster and chips-- I enjoyed the oysters more than the salmon. It was super crispy and not over battered. I would definitely recommend this if you like oysters! read more

This was our second time in WA and our second time at Chinooks. The servers are friendly and the food is good. The restaurant is is in a dock area so it is on the water and has a great view, anytime of day, but I prefer dinner and the sunset. Honestly, Im here for the oysters and the Salmon. It just tastes better than it does at home. Cant comment on anything else, but I can tell you; the Salmon is fresh and I prefer it made grilled on a cedar plank. Chinooks does this to perfection. The oysters are fresh and tasty. They have a selection that I can't get at home. I think this is a have to eat at place for me while in Seattle. Good food, good prices and good service. Beautiful view of the marina, delicious food, perfect for our last meal in Seattle. Located in the Fisherman's Terminal plaza, they're known for their seafood, and that was exactly what we wanted. We came on a Monday for lunch, the place was pretty packed, but not completely full. The hostess led us to our table near the window, with the harbor and boats right outside, which was really nice. They started us off with some fresh, warm, and fluffy focaccia bread, sooo good. For drinks, I went with a lemonade-beer, forgot what it was called, and my girlfriend got a carafe of white wine. For food, we got the Steamed Mussels and Clams and 4 oysters to start. I got the Salmon Pot Pie as my entree and my girlfriend went with the Baked Garlic Prawn Scampi. The mussels and clams were fresh, good portion for an appetizer. I love salmon, so I really loved the salmon pot pie; it seemed small at first, but I could barely finish it at the end. The prawns were huge, the dish came with 4 of them, garlic flavoring is prominent, but not overpowering, also enjoyed that as well. Service was amazing the entire time, the staff was super friendly, patient and helpful. Weather was a bit cloudy when we went, but it cleared up towards the end of the meal. I would have liked to walk around the marina a bit after the meal, but we were pretty short on time. It's a bit away from Downtown Seattle, but I would definitely recommend this place! read more
