I love, love, love Chinitas!!! I always have to order the brussel sprouts THEY ARE SO GOOD PLEASE ORDER. Everything in the happy hour menu is amazing. Surprisingly, the sushi is incredible. Service is honestly a hit or miss. I have gone where they are really attentive and other times where they are not so much, but the food makes up for it each time. We love this spot! Every time we come it is a pleasant experience. We were lucky enough to get Micah again. He's very attentive, friendly, and efficient. He comes to check in on us but is not overbearing (yall know what I'm talking about). We recommend this place to all our friends and make it a point to come at least once a week. I love the music, food is delicious, and service is always amazing. Come get the elote ribs, blackened shrimp tacos, tiger roll, elote roll (acquired taste), and to end your meal have the Ube White Chocolate Bread Pudding or Chino Churros (both are delicious). read more

Went back tonight and apparently they have new management. The whole menu changed and it's not as good. The tacos were dry and the bulgogi fries didn't have as much toppings on it anymore. The service was still great, but there was an issue and management didn't even come out to check on it. The waitress was great though. I don't know if it's a place I really need to go to anymore.... Also they had fear factor playing on their tv. I dunno if the maggots section really helped the atmosphere . read more

Tried this place on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. Seated right away by the friendly hostess. Our waiter came over right away. Told him it was our first time so he made some recommendations. They had TVs playing the game on almost every wall so there isn't a "bad seat" in the house. We ordered the elote ribs, the tacos trio and the spicy Chinitas roll. I also ordered a cocktail that gave the perfect buzz. Everything was delicious. We'll definitely be back. read more

I will definitely be a repeat customer at Chinitas! This place is a hidden gem on Water Street. There food is delicious, I love the Mexican/Asian fusion of the dishes. They have a fun atmosphere and the service was good. We were a large group of 13 people and none of us had complaints for anything which is rare. Absolutely love this place! It came highly recommended by a family friend, and it did not disappoint. The food was incredible--every dish we ordered was a hit! We had the birria egg rolls, fried wontons, beef bulgogi tacos, a couple of rolls, yellowtail, and the citrus sashimi--10/10 across the board! The cocktails were just as impressive. I tried the blackberry mojito and the strawberry cucumber limeade, and both were perfection--so refreshing and well-balanced. On top of the amazing food and drinks, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was great. Definitely a new favorite--can't wait to come back! read more

I really like this place. We have been here about 3 times now and each time the food has been fantastic and the service great. I admit, I was super skeptical about Mexican/Asian fusion, but I think this place nails it. The birria tacos are a must as well as the elote corn. My kids love the birria ramen and my husband likes to try new sushi rolls every time he goes. It is super loud inside on the weekends, so my elderly mother was a little upset about that, but luckily I am still young enough not to be bothered! Ha! read more

We went to Henderson Water District last night for the Oktoberfest and were severely disappointed at the event upon getting there. They had almost run out of food and there was not even anybody manning the beverage cart. So we walked around Water Street in hopes of finding somewhere to eat. The first place we stopped at down the street had about an hour wait so we kept going.. and found Chinitas. I actually could not make out the name of the restaurant, because the sign was in really fancy cursive. We put our name down on the list and looked for seating at the bar because we were that hungry. We luckily found one. The bar was very busy and it took a while for us to even get waters. Fortunately, the hostess came over and told us our table was ready after about 10 minutes of sitting in the bar. Once we were seated, it took probably another 10 minutes for our server to greet us. In all fairness to them, they were really busy. I had no idea Water St. was so hoppin'! So we ordered the following: 1) Crab crunch roll- Decent roll, sauce was yummy. Typical Americanized sushi roll but they made it pretty good. 2) Quesabirria tacos- Possibly the best quesabirria tacos I've ever tried. The cheese was perfectly melted and the meat and dip were very flavorful. The tortilla had just the perfect texture. 3) Kimchi chorizo fried rice- the serving was humongous! It was also very good. Possibly better than some of the kimchi fried rice I've had in actual Korean restaurants. But it might have been the chorizo too. My wife said don't compare apples to bananas. Or whatever the saying is. 4) Pork wonton- This was the most disappointing out of everything we ordered. Not that it wasn't good, I just think the execution wasn't great on this dish. 5) White chocolate bread pudding- so we finished the entire thing, even after we ate all of the food above. It was THAT good. It was also the only one we managed to get a picture of, because we were just sooo hungry. read more

If you're out with friends/family and someone wants a quesabirria taco but someone else wants sushi instead.. well Chinitas is perfect for you then. We've been here twice so far and both times have been amazing. Food is well portioned for the price which is surprising for a tapas style place. The service was exceptional every time we've been there. Servers are quick and attentive. Really knowledgeable with the menu making wonderful recommendations. Last time we went during a Saturday night there was a dj which, usually will play loud music that doesn't match the vibe of the restaurant but somehow the dj that was there just added to the experience somehow capturing the mood of our meal which was a combination of tacos, sushi and nachos. We've tried the quesabirria tacos both times. Both times it was amazing. It comes with consume on the side and is a really good portion for the price. Hoke poke roll - it's hard to order sushi at a non sushi restaurant and expect it to be quality but this roll is on the same quality of some of the better sushi spots here in Vegas. Poke nachos - refreshing fish and an amazing sauce on top of wonton chips. So good. read more

Tried the Egg Rolls Al Pastor which were SUPER good, especially when dipped in the sauce. Also had the white sangria which was good, not really a wine girl but I loved how sweet it was! We also had the margarita flight and Bluemoon mango. FIVE STAR ALERT Had a birthday to celebrate and mama bear picked this restaurant on water street in Henderson. Beautiful, clean, upbeat (had a dj), creative. I would highly recommend the elote ribs and the Wagyu sliders. We ordered like we were at a buffet. Everything was delicious. Mama bear decided to order a flight and the owner said they just got the new flights in so we were the first to test them out. The service was impeccable. The waitress we had was very attentive, funny, and recommended some good food items. Will be back when we make it to Henderson again. Tapas are always so expensive for such little food but I must say my tacos were bomb and they packed the meat in pretty good, so I ain't mad. But 3 corn tortilla short rib tacos were $16, after tip you're looking closer to $20 that's my only complaint because I wasn't ready to spend that I got sticker shock looking at the menu. The food keeps pulling us in! The sushi rolls are super fresh and dynamic! There are also other dishes that are a knock out - quesaabirria, elote ribs and the bulgogi fries! Their drinks are strong and yummy. The place is cool- their decor is very urban cool. Their service is always a toss up. I understand they're busy- but man it's rough sometimes. They might have too much staff and they're just hanging out or they have too little and spread too thin. In return, we wait, wait and wait for our food. We'll get checked on and ask how we're enjoying our food when half the table is still waiting. We always keep our hopes up! read more

Amazing night again with Jonathan and Janice (+1) at our favorite local restaurant in the Henderson area, right in the hart of the Waters District. Usual starters, Edamame's along side the California Roll. Gotta say we missed our favorite Al Pastor with Chorizo and the Chicken Flat Bread and so did the strangers in the booth next to us who started chanting "BRING IT BACK, BRING IT BACK"! Please team Chinitas, we know you want to simplify the menu but don't take two of the best dishes away from your loyal raving fans. The Happy Hour Spicy Tuna Roll and the Happy Hour Shrimp Tempura Crunch Roll were good. Our server was Jannice P and she was perfect. Super helpful, polite and on top of taking care of our table. Looks delicious. How close is this to the Vegas Strip?

I recently had the opportunity to visit a local restaurant, and I must say that my overall experience left much to be desired. The restaurant in question boasted an appealing ambiance and friendly staff, but unfortunately, the food fell short of my expectations, leaving me underwhelmed. One of the main aspects that left me disappointed was the food itself. While it wasn't necessarily terrible, it was just basic. The dishes lacked that extra touch that elevates a meal from average to outstanding. The flavors were muted, and the presentation was uninspiring. It felt as though the kitchen had put little effort into creating a memorable culinary experience. To make matters worse, the restaurant had a rather unusual policy when it came to birthdays. I was shocked to learn that they charged an extra $2 per person for plates when customers brought their own birthday cake. Now, it's not uncommon for establishments to charge a cake-cutting fee, but this additional charge for plates seemed excessive and unnecessary. It left a sour taste in my mouth and felt like a blatant attempt to squeeze a few extra dollars out of their patrons. On a more positive note, the service at the restaurant was friendly and attentive. The staff members were welcoming and did their best to accommodate our needs. However, even their warm demeanor couldn't compensate for the lackluster food and the additional charge for plates. In terms of value for money, the restaurant did not meet my expectations. Considering the ordinary quality of the food and the unexpected fee for plates, I found the overall experience to be overpriced. There are many other establishments in the area that offer superior culinary delights at a more reasonable cost. In conclusion, while the restaurant had its strengths in terms of ambiance and service, it fell short in the most critical aspect--the food. With lackluster flavors and uninspiring presentation, it failed to leave a lasting impression. Moreover, the additional charge for plates, especially for a birthday cake, seemed unreasonable. If you're seeking a memorable dining experience, I would recommend exploring other options in the area before settling for this particular restaurant. read more

Aloha! I recently had an unforgettable dining experience at Chinitas Tapas & Sushi located on Water Street in Henderson, Nevada. It was a delightful date night with my beautiful wife, Sandi. From start to finish, everything about this restaurant exceeded our expectations. First and foremost, let me commend our server, Ari, who went above and beyond to make our evening truly special. Her recommendations were spot-on, and her attentive service made us feel like VIPs. The staff at Chinitas Tapas & Sushi truly knows how to provide top-notch hospitality. To kick off our meal, we indulged in the Elote Ribs and Screaming Tuna Sashimi. These appetizers were bursting with flavor and left us craving more. The combination of the succulent corn and the fresh, melt-in-your-mouth tuna was a match made in culinary heaven. Next up were the Cauliflower Tacos, Hawaiian Roll, and Tacos Al Pastor. Each dish was a work of art, beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared. The flavors danced on our taste buds, creating a symphony of taste that delighted our senses. It's evident that the chefs at Chinitas Tapas & Sushi are masters of their craft. And if you're looking to lose weight there were plenty of healthy options on the menu to choose from! To complement our meal, I ordered the Blueberry Mojito and it was simply divine. The refreshing blend of blueberries, mint, and the perfect amount of rum was the ideal companion to the delectable dishes we enjoyed. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, and the attention to detail in the decor added to the overall experience. The vibrant atmosphere combined with the warm and friendly staff created an atmosphere of joy and relaxation. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience in Henderson, I highly recommend Chinitas Tapas & Sushi. Make sure to ask for Ari as your server to ensure an extraordinary experience from beginning to end. Mahalo to the entire team at Chinitas Tapas & Sushi for an evening filled with incredible flavors and impeccable service. We'll definitely be back for more memorable dining experiences in the future. Chinitas is not only an incredible fusion Japanese/Mexican restaurant, but it also offers an exceptional event space perfect for gatherings of up to 150 guests. The upstairs event space features both indoor and outdoor areas, which we utilized for our event. There is a dedicated entrance with a red rope at the stairs to the left, allowing guests to walk in, or you can access the space through the restaurant if you need to use the elevator or bring additional items. Upon reaching the upstairs venue, I was blown away by the beautiful decorations that Chanthy had arranged. As a busy entrepreneur, I didn't have time to decorate for my son's graduation party, so I was thrilled to discover that Chinitas not only has a stunning space but also offers event planning services. They can bring your vision to life, ensuring the perfect event. The decorations were stunning, complete with flowers, balloons, a graduation cake, an amazing donut wall, cute cupcakes, and even a photo booth to create wonderful memories. The food was, as always, exceptional. We enjoyed a delicious variety of dishes, and while pre-ordering is an option, I chose to let my 20 guests order whatever they wanted. The venue also features a bar and a dance floor, where we played music from my daughter's playlist. Our table ordered an array of delicious items, including sushi rolls, birria rolls, surf & turf fried rice, poke nachos, Brussels sprouts, burgers, shrimp tacos, and more. My son was thrilled with his graduation party, and I couldn't have been happier. Everyone was impressed with the event. I'm incredibly grateful that Chinitas offers such a beautiful space, delectable food, and comprehensive decoration services, allowing me to simply enjoy my family and the party. I highly recommend this amazing restaurant and private event venue to anyone. You won't be disappointed! read more

This place is amazing. I reserved a table for 16 for my daughters 20th bday at 7 pm on a Tuesday. The service was absolutely exceptional and fast! As soon as we arrived Austin took the cake I had brought and placed it in the cooler for me. They set the table up for us right on time. Adrian was our server and he was very personable and got right into getting our drinks and food rolling. My favorite was the spicy tuna roll and Japanese lasagna. We all tried many different items on the menu and were able to share it all. They had 10$ Tuesday which consisted of quite a few different options on the menu. They allowed us plenty of time for my daughter to open her gifts and then Adrian lit her candles and took care of bringing the cake out for us. This was my first time here and I came back on Wednesday for happy hour to enjoy another sushi roll and some drinks. We will definitely be back again ..definitely my new favorite spot! We made a reservation through OpenTable, but when we arrived, the hostess seemed overwhelmed by the number of online reservations. This resulted in us having to choose between waiting 40 minutes or sitting outside in the sun, which was a bit frustrating. Additionally, the place is quite loud, making it hard to have a conversation without raising your voice. However, if you can overlook these issues, the food is absolutely worth it. Every dish we tried was delicious, and the service was excellent once we were seated. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring we had a great dining experience despite the initial hiccup. We went a bit heavy on the app's, cucumber salad, spicy bean sprouts, bucket of chicken wings and an order of the ribs. The cucumber salad was icy cold and tart, the bean sprouts crunchy and not overly spicy. The ribs were meaty, fall off the bone and tasty, served on a bed of purple cabbage. . The chicken wings were more of a Korean style, super crunchy, probably fried twice. Served with two dipping sauces Squidlett and hubs order maki , she just ordered a California roll and he ordered a nija (sp) roll served very cold and had a nice slice of lobster tail as one of the pieces of fish draped over the top. A decent selection the sashimi was two large pieces of tuna and two of salmon plus one other that but may have been sea bass. Couldn't ID it. The maki was a spicy tuna. My hand roll was in my mind not a hand roll, just another maki roll. A minor negative was the runners had brought out our app's and the sometime later before our mains were served the server brought out the oshibori (wet little towels to clean your hands before eat. Out of kindness (it's hard keeping a business afloat), I was going to give today's lunch 3 stars…read more Then I read my previous review, which was 3-star, and I realized that we received Lack of Attention and Service today, just as we did the last time we were there. Since the table service hasn't improved, I've gotta go with two stars. Hubby and I arrived around 1:00 PM on a Thursday and were seated immediately. Instead of reading the menu, Hubby asked if they offered a Vegetable Tempura and Shrimp Tempura. The waitress said they have both a dinner and an appetizer. We're so old now that we just can't eat much at any one sitting, so we ordered two Tempura appetizers which included two shrimp each, a large slice of eggplant, a sweet potato slice and an asparagus spear. I wish they'd served an onion rather than the eggplant. The inside of the eggplant was gray; it wasn't appealing -- and we do eat with our eyes first. I took a bite of the shrimp and didn't like it; I gave it to Hubby who ate it. (It had no flavor and, other than the tempura itself, no texture. It was mushy.) I later tried the other shrimp with the same result. I traded it for Hubby's sweet potato. The asparagus spear was scrawny and overcooked. I didn't care for the sauce; therefore, I wanted wasabi to mix with the soy sauce that was on the table. That never happened because no one ever came to check on us! Not once! The tempura was oily. I needed a second napkin and had to get up, go get it myself from a neighboring table because after a young man delivered our food, neither our waitress nor anyone else ever checked on us; not even once during the meal. Not once! No one asked us if we needed anything; no one visited our table for any reason, not once after the food was delivered. We finished eating and sat for a couple of minutes. No one came around with a check, so I went looking for our waitress in order to get the check. In summary: The food was disappointing. Specifically: the tempura was too oily; the eggplant was gross; the shrimp was flavorless and its texture was mush; and the asparagus spear was scrawny and overcooked. The service was worse because not once did anyone check on us! I had to go in search of both a second napkin and the check; and I went without wasabi. If you read my previous review, my issue then was the service. So, Lesson Learned. By me. Clearly, the wait staff ignore customer feedback about service. So this will be our last visit. Adios, Caio Caio and see ya never.

WOW!!!! So the truth...I was in my way to Cactus…read morebuffet...yes still want to try it. So on my way there I spotted this restaurant from the corner of my eye. I got to Cactus buffet but the wait was over 40min and its 1:00pm and the ride from Summerlin was very hot one and I haven't eaten yet. So I decided next time and I rode back to this spot. Ok first glance a bit empty for Sunday and I did wait a bit for hostess. So I sat down the place is clean and nicely decorated. The menu Mexican American didn't really see anything special. So I landed on two plates and let Bridget waitress pick. I was between Asada and eggs and Chorizo omelet she said you must try the chorizo omelet because the chorizo is in house made...ok something special I didn't notice or know hint hint to owners you might highlight this. Yes one if the best chorizo omelet and im not an omelet lover actually a scramble suits me better but WOW the taste of everything went so well...this where me and Bridget got into it...not really I did love the orange sauce it came and yes I do like green better over red sauce but this orange sauce went soooooooooo welllllllll. Lol. The pancakes OMG the Cajeta and lechera pancakes were a perfect ending and.....AND capitalize it AND great prices. Under this dumb ass economy I proudly didn't vote for anyways not political review. Ok the only bad thing...tortillas!!!! It should come with it its very inexpensive item but I would ask customers would you like tortillas with it. An upgrade would be hechas a la mano that I wouldn't mind paying for extra but you guys got them use them. It is far ride from Summerlin but good to know this place near airport if I land in the morning and want a great bite to eat. Another hint hint...come up to Summerlin at the moment many Mexican American breakfast restaurants popping up Casa de Desayuno and Ellies come to mind...be the first to get the best place to live in Las Vegas

I recently tried this place for breakfast after a colleague chose it for us one weekday morning. I…read moredrive by here almost every day and, honestly, I had always assumed it was closed or possibly abandoned. My colleague had to point out the "Now Open" sign on the side of the front entrance. I rarely see many cars outside, so I genuinely hadn't realized it was open and operating. There are some positives. There's plenty of free parking, and the location at Sunset and Athenian is easy to access. The restaurant itself looks fairly large, although during our visit they were only seating guests on the left side. There wasn't a host; instead, a sign directed us to seat ourselves. Service was attentive and good throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the food was where the experience fell short. I ordered the steak and eggs and requested my steak medium. I actually ordered it that way intentionally because, historically, diner-style restaurants tend to overcook steaks a little, so I figured I would end up somewhere around medium-well. Unfortunately, my steak arrived well overcooked, dry, and disappointing. The hash browns that came with my breakfast also tasted like they had been frozen rather than freshly prepared. My colleague ordered the Green Chilaquiles with Carne Asada and had a similar experience. Her carne asada was also overcooked and dry, and the chilaquiles themselves were quite dry, with only a small amount of green sauce. She did say the beans were tasty, so those were a bright spot. They also offer a few different mimosa flights, which I thought was a fun and unique idea. We tried them but didn't particularly care for the flavors...that part may simply come down to personal preference rather than anything being wrong with the drinks. Pricing was moderate, but considering the quality of the food we received, I didn't feel the experience offered particularly good value. The service was attentive, parking was plentiful, and the mimosa flights were a creative touch. Unfortunately, with both of our main dishes coming out dry and overcooked, I don't see myself returning for breakfast.
