Id give this a 3.5, I think this is a restaurant for hanging out or the bar, it's not worth if you are in a rush or just want really good and reasonably priced food. The food here isn't that authentic and relatively pricey I came here for a quick sushi lunch, I just wanted some good Asian food, so was pretty disappointed when I saw the price and how much time it took for them to place an order and get the dishes served. The rainbow roll was ok, fish was relatively thin compared to ones I ate at Asian sushi restaurants, it's kinda pricy but it does look nicely platted tho, just doesn't fit my cheap and yummy standards The tiger roll was a lunch special, so was 10$ which is acceptable But yea, portion sizes are probably on the smaller size, so might need to get a few dishes for 2 people. read more

You have to go here. My wife and I sat down and initially, we were ignored for ten minutes or so. No water, service, anything. It didn't seem like a good start. Then a waiter, Brandon, noticed us as he walked by and asked if we had been helped. We advised him no, and then we watched as Brandon searched for our assigned server. After doing what he could to try and find her, Brandon simply took our table (my wife later saw our initial server watching YouTube in the women's restroom, not everyone can crush it like Brandon I guess). Then Brandon made it right. We got our drink order fast. (Try the Mezcalita! It was great). We got our food order even faster. The birria Ramen was incredible, a combo of two awesome foods that I'll definitely have again. My water cup was never even close to empty. If I wanted anything, before I could complete my thought: Brandon was there to check on us. Aside from the great food and drinks, Brandon's exceptional service sold us on coming back to Chinitas. Great place! Came here on a Friday night and it was a great atmosphere. There was a lot of people, but we were still seated very fast. There's an in house DJ who played throughout the night and even got some guests engaged with a few games/shoutouts. The food was amazing!! Everything was delicious, my favorite has to be the wagyu sliders and the yellowtail sashimi. The sushi we ordered was very fresh and other items came out hot and nicely plated. Best place ever! Me and the hubby went for a dinner date and I always heard of this place and wanted to try. We got seated right away and there was a live singer which was a nice touch to our dinner. We ordered a sushi roll I believe it was the tiger one ( forgot the name ) but that was delicious! The Korean flatbread is to die for. The quesabirria tacos were *chef kiss! First off let me say that I am extremely happy that this place opened on Water Street, so close to both my work and my house. The area has really been coming up lately and this was a fine addition and probably the nicest restaurant on the whole street. I have been here twice and have tried a good bit of the menu (General Tso's Chicken tacos, Quesabirria tacos, Korean Short Rib Tacos, Beet Tostada, Egg Rolls Al Pastor, Crispy Pork Wontons, Bahn Mi Ahogada, Udon Al Mojo De Ajo, Churros, Spicy Poblano Margarita, and the Berry Ginger Margarita). Overall, everything was good and really the only thing I wasn't too fond of was the Beet Tostado, though my dad absolutely loved it. Standouts for me were the Udon and the Short Rib Tacos. They were both so incredibly tender and flavorful and also really unique! My dad honestly loved everything; who knew he was a fusion fiend! Personally I think the menu is overpriced, specifically the drinks and the tacos. I will say though that the restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous and a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. There are several seating arrangements along with outdoor seating. There is an outdoor waiting area which will make out very nicely when they are packed. Everything was very clean. Mixing Mexican and Japanese to a perfect flavor combination and so many options that everyone can find something they'll enjoy! Friday date night with the husband! We decided to try Chinitas off of a Yelp recommendation. The atmosphere is as wonderful as the food is delicious! The staff were friendly, seemed happy to be there and were super on point with service! We started with shareable of elote corn ribs, pork wonton, and the salmon ceviche. Corn ribs were one of my favorites and the wonton were one of my husband's favorites. Neither of us cared for the ceviche-a bit fishy and way too slimey for us. On the taco selections we chose the tempura shrimp tacos and the Chino taquitos. Both were delightful! We tried one roll, but are excited to come back for others! The one we ordered was the Hoke Poke Roll. Sooo good!!! Husband had a cadillac margarita- he said it was one of the best he's had. I chose the margarita flight. Prickly pear was easily my favorite,followed by the strawberry, the mango,and lastly the regular. The DJ was unexpected, but is a nice touch.
