Had to run some errands in the east bay and came across this place around 2:45pm on a Friday. They charge $13.99 for lunch which is an insane price in the Bay Area! The waitstaff is pleasant and explained how the pricing worked. We were worried cuz we thought we might overlap into dinner prices which started at 3:30 (17.99) but she said as long as we didn't eat the dinner items we were fine. They had sushi and chinese food so not much more you could ask for. There's a wide variety for honestly, it's not bad bot it's not great either. It's about quantity not quality so if you want a lot of food and am not picky then you'd prolly like it! Most items were a bit bland and just a little off. For example, the sushi rice could use a little more rice wine, the shrimp could have used a little salt and pepper and been a bit crispier. I ate a bunch of sushi cuz who can resist? Bit the tastiest items were the onion rings (reminded me of Jack in the Box), the fried chicken wings (who doesn't love fried chicken wings?) and surprisingly the garlic string beans and chow mein. The place is large and the people nice. Lots of people coming in to eat so it's a popular spot. I don't think you'd ever have to wait for a table. Would I eat here again? Maybe cuz the price is reasonable and there are a few items I enjoyed.

Stopped in today see what all the fuss is about.

July 6 2025 3.6 stars China Wall Buffet has a nice spot in a strip mall setting right off Willow Pass road in Concord. This strip mall should get a cool nickname like maybe Concord's Food Crawl. There are so many food operations for you within a 2 block walk. I checked out Yelp before we departed and Yelpers have been raking this restaurant over the coals for years. I went in with low expectations and left happier than I expected to. The buffet has a ton of food choices. We were there for dinner so there was plenty of fried crab, shrimp, and clams. The shame about it is they manage to overcook too many of their foodstuffs. Chewy prawns, chewy clams, tough as a golf ball "siomai". You might get a suprise bit of sand or shell when you are expecting an uneventful chew as well. This is much like eating on a cruise ship with all the beautiful foods, only the Chef missed the boat. The food tray areas and in fact the entire restaurant is kept clean and organized. The staff is friendly and quick to clean up a table so the guests have space to soil more plates. Happily there is no noticeably annoying mood music being pumped in. The restaurant is brat friendly so you can bring along offspring if you've got them. The winner here is the price. Two meals and a coke for $40 before tip (we got a few bucks off- old codgers discount). Where can two people eat all the muscles, Manilla clams, pepper crab, and sushi etc. they want for $40? Again, most all the dishes are prepared in an underwhelming fashion. Know that walking in the door and you will leave sated, happy, and with a few bucks still clinging to the inside of your wallet.

Excellent deal for both lunch and dinner. Lots of tasty food options. Surprises every time I am here. Braised pig feet and Fuzhou fish balls today. Lots of seafood for dinner. Friendly service.

Went for lunch on Veterans Day with a group of 13 people. The person who arranged the gathering called the restaurant to ask about securing a table for all of us. The restaurant never mentioned that the lunch price for Veterans Day would be increased to the dinner price, so it was about $5 more per person ($17.95 per person). When we inquired about the increase in price, we were only told, "Well, it's posted on the door." The person arranging the gathering called on the phone, so she wouldn't have seen a post on the door!! Oh, well! The offerings on the steam tables were varied and plentiful, but none of it seemed particularly good. I think the best thing I had was the fried chicken drummette listed as "chicken wings". Nothing else seemed to have enough flavor to make it stand out. The sushi all tasted the same with not much flavor. The clams with black beans were under seasoned and the "baked crab" was really just "krab". Absolutely no drinks were included in the price except water. No knives were offered, so you have to try to cut larger pieces with your fork or eat with your hands. Needless to say, I was not very impressed with anything. So glad the people in my group made up for the disappointment of the food.

So what is the difference between the lunch price and the dinner price? What additional items are served that is different from lunch?

I don't eat here for dinner since it's about a 30-40 min drive out there..but since lunch is around $14, expect dinner to be around the $20 range. As for the different items, the only thing that comes to mind would be like crab legs (which I have…

Hello. How much is the price for kids 7 years and below? Thanks

Children ages 1-10 is $1.00/year. The price corresponds with their age.

Does this place have birthday special?

I just called them. They technically don't do anything, but the employee said if you tell the waiter in advance, they can make a small cake and all will sing "Happy Birthday" to you.…

Is it true that they no longer serve crab legs?

Yes last time when in at dinner and I ask server about snow crab. Server said "no more crab". Also price went up for lunch and dinner.

The chili seasoning was fragrant, though not spicy, and the cold skin noodles tasted good. But the flat noodles were hard to chew and seemed to still have a white, doughy center. That's not a chewy texture--that's what undercooked noodles taste like. When I raised the issue, the server tried to tell me that's how they were supposed to be. I know the difference between chewy and undercooked noodles. Dismissing my concern instead of addressing it was insulting. There wasn't even an apology, let alone an offer to remake the dish or take it back to finish cooking the noodles. Nothing was done. I barely ate them and left them behind. You let a customer leave with a nearly untouched meal and an unresolved complaint. Is that really the standard you want your restaurant to be known for? This was also my first time leaving a restaurant without tipping. As far as I'm concerned, paying for a bowl I could barely eat was enough money wasted. WON'T BE BACK! WOULDN'T RECOMMEND!

At 12:30pm, at the height of lunch time, there were only 2 customers in the restaurant. I was greeted by a pleasant lady who led me to my table. I ordered their lunch special Kunpao Chicken that came with hot and sour soup, a small tasty egg roll and steamed rice. The Serving was generous and the chicken was delicious! The soup wasn't too sour, authentic but not overpowering which I liked. After my meal, I had enough delicious leftover for dinner. There were just 3 customers, including myself, the whole time I was there. It's sad because the place looks nice and clean, and the food was great. Garlic pea sprouts were tender and fragerent. Beef rolls had the most delicious braised beef. The salt and pepper chicken was basically popcorn chicken but came in a huge basket and pretty decent. Overall great food in a no-frills environment with decent portions and prices. Would return to try other dishes.

Everything we ordered came out fresh and well-prepared, and you can really tell there's care put into the food. If you're a fan of the type of food you get at 88 Bao Bao, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try. In my opinion, it's a step above, with a much wider variety of dishes and plenty of choices beyond the usual favorites. Their beef rolls are especially worth ordering, they're much more substantial, packed with flavor, and very satisfying. Another thing that really stood out to me is the space. The restaurant is relatively clean, open, and spacious, which makes the overall experience much more comfortable than some of the smaller, crowded spots in the area. If you're ever near 99 Ranch in Concord, put this place on your list. Great food, generous portions, good service, and a comfortable atmosphere make it well worth checking out. It's one of those places that can be easy to overlook, especially with the shopping plaza across the street drawing more foot traffic, but I think it deserves a little more attention. The location probably doesn't do it any favors when it comes to people casually walking by and deciding to grab a bite. If it were right in the plaza across the street, I could see more people stumbling upon it. As it is, you might have to make a point of stopping here instead of just following the crowds. If you're nearby and trying to figure out where to satisfy a noodle or dumpling craving, keep this place in mind! A solid local option and worth a stop, even if its location makes it a little less noticeable than the neighboring spots.

We travel to Mings from our home in Danville (15 miles). I am asian and from my Yelp Reviews you can see i love to eat, especially good Chinese recipes. I also enjoy cooking these same recipes at home. I cannot understand many of the NEGATIVE reviews for Ming's. Since Day 1, we have always felt that SERVICE has been exceptionally kind here. For many years Ming himself would seat his guests & take their orders. Today, 20 years later, he is still present in the restaurant to greet guests, and he personally thanks patrons at their table. The negative reviews are that person's opinion, i personally do not understand how they can be so critical of this decent restaurant. Tonight we brought my 91 yo father - with his wheelchair. Ming was gracious enough to show us the ramp as we were maneuvering to the front door. We were seated in a nice booth, wheelchair out of the way. Our waiter greeted us, took our tea order and remembered that i drink COKE zero (2 cans). He mentioned some of their special plates for the day. Tea,water & drinks were present as we were looking at the menu. We ordered: Mu-siu chicken w/4 pancakes Salted fish w/chicken fried rice Prawns w/ bitter melon Salt pepper fried chicken Sweet n sour pork Steamed fish fillet w/ ginger & green onions Westlake Beef soup Soup arrived first. Hot soup served by the waiter. Great flavor loaded with ingredients, - no after taste of added MSG. Mu-siu chicken were prepared at our table by our waiter. Delicious with a good portion of chicken w/ vegetables. Presented all at once so we started eating at the same time. The remaining dishes arrived as they cleared our table of empty plates. Each dish was flavorful, Dad is on a kidney diet, i am on a heart healthy diet,, our taste buds are trained to detect excessive SALT & MSG. Each dish delivered good flavors. Honestly, my family has only enjoyed Dinners here, its a 30 mile drive and i rarely eat a big Lunch. So ive not sampled the Lunch service. I have eaten by myself, with my wife, and up to 10 family members, and never experienced a bad visit. We do frequent restaurants in SF and Oakland Chinatown, for the East Bay, MING can stand proud of his LOCAL Business. Thank You Ming for providing an option for Good Chinese Cuisine in our area.
