Don't be dissuaded by some of these negative reviews-- there's a reason why the place is packed in the evenings and on weekends. I don't find myself going to buffets often, but I literally daydream about the next time that I'm able to go to China Wall, because of how tasty the food is. Came here on Memorial Day around late afternoon. As soon we arrived, we were seated immediately and were asked if we wanted a booth, which I liked since I prefer sitting in booths! Since it was a holiday, they raised their price to four dollars more, which wasn't bad. Around $12. Considering the affordable price, foods were either a hit or miss, although I did have some dishes that stood out to me. The dishes I enjoyed were actually replenished after I finished my first plate, to get my second helping. So I felt comfortable knowing that it hasn't been sitting out there for the entire time. The main reason why I stuck to the few of the popular dishes, was since it's fresh and hot. I also enjoyed only two of the sushi rolls. One had tiny fish eggs on top, and the other had seaweed salad in it. It was mediocre to say the least. The food in the hot trays outdid the sushi. After my second plate, I began to feel full, but I wasn't going to stop there. I decided to get myself dessert. I got myself a frozen yogurt swirl, drizzled syrup all over, and added sprinkles. I'm not sure why, but all I could taste was how cold it was, I didn't even taste chocolate and vanilla. Then I had the powdered sugar nuts and salty peanuts, which were good. I mean, most Chinese buffets I've been to, has had them. I was almost going to place a chocolate chip cookie on my plate, but as soon as the serving spoon touched it, it felt like I just poked a hard rock. There was also a dessert in a plastic cup, that tasted like flat out mocha icing. There's not much variety of desserts which was kind of a disappointment, but I guess their other food makes up for that. It is a reasonable price if you want a buffet with not outstanding food, but still delicious and will fill you up for the entire day! Favorites: Coconut shrimp- It reminded me of honey shrimp w/ out the walnuts General Tso's chicken- Tasted similar to sweet and sour, it's good. Lo Mein: Was able to get a freshly made batch and it was kind of too oily, but still tasty. Steamed Broccoli and zucchini were soft to perfection, not mushy, with a bit of crunch. But their food are very fresh because the restaurant is usually full and food are gone quickly.There are more than 50 tables and booths in the restaurant. Most of time it is packed. I like most of food items there especially the fried crabs are my favorite. It is served in the dinner. There are Salmon, Alaska cod, shrimp, and mussels as well. A few soups, dim sums, and sushi are also served. After COVID, most restaurants have increased food prices at least 20%. China Wall Buffet still keeps the same price. Service staff are very friendly and nice. They come to collect used plates frequently and add drinks/water for you promptly. Bathrooms are often the dirty place in Some restaurants. In all fairness, I couldn't complain: $15 buffet dinner including soda and tax. It is not the best buffet or sushi table out there but for the price, it's the cheapest and will satisfy your hunger. I ate a little bit of this and that (see pictures) plus my favorite coconut shrimp (forgot to take a picture). I was there at about 4:00 pm and I guess it was perfect timing because everything I tasted was hot and freshly cooked. If you come here, don't expect a beautiful restaurant with a grand and awesome buffet spread where you'll celebrate your birthday. It is just the usual and very basic. Don't come late. Be there when the buffet starts otherwise if you come much later, the food will be dry and you'll be disappointed. They deserve five stars for the price and customer service. The only good thing about this place is the price. The selection itself is par to subpar. I went during lunch, which is $8.65. Plus a Soda for $1.25. The "sushi" was OK. Edible. The soups were OK as well. Corn soup, sweet and sour, and Chicken soup. The desert was sub par. It wasn't ice cream, but ice milk. Big Difference. The only saving grace was the selection of fried foods, and some of the dim sum. When it comes to Chinese buffets, China Wall is the best one around in my opinion. It's located just down the street from Lin's Buffet, formerly Buffet City, and formerly one amazing buffet. Since they slowly went down the toilet I was pleasantly surprised to find China Wall, even though they have been here for a while apparently. Even though it's located in the Park and Shop, which is not that great of an area, the restaurant itself is nice and clean. The service is usually fast, and the servers are usually very nice, and sometimes a little too nice (please let me eat my dinner without carrying on a conversation with me!). Like almost every other Chinese food buffet they also have a sushi bar. The sushi here is usually a little fresher than you would expect in a buffet. If you show up within an hour of them closing you will find the sushi to be a little dried out, and you will also find them not replenishing the rolls as much; however, if you come during the day the rolls can be very delicious. My favorite things to grub on at this buffet are their fried rice, jalapeno chicken, and zucchini with shrimp. What's great about the three, besides the fact that all three taste amazing, is that they can be mixed together and still taste equally amazing. Hello to everyone on Yelp. This caution is for everyone out there that wants to eat at this place, eat at your own risk you have been advised. Soon after arriving at this location to have a family meal my son was not feeling well and threw up which caused us to have to leave. I advised the manager and the waitress that we had not touched our food nor have we had gone up to get food and then we only had 3 sodas. They insisted that we had to pay for the soda that wasn't touched before we left. Their lack of disrespect to familys in a stressful situation was astonishing. And if I'm being honest this is probably my 2nd time at this location and if anyone that works for the health department they should pay them a visit because there's been several times that I've seen things that are not up to food standards or are just downright unsanitary. OMG! Be careful eating here. We went to eat here for lunch on Sunday and I got violently sick right after. It's been now 4 days and I still can't keep food down. I had only 1 of their oysters and everything else was cooked so I have no idea what it was. I'm never eating here again. You would think the turn over of their food is good on Sundays as they are busy but this pathogen or bacteria completely knock me down for 4-5 days. I haven't been able to eat since Sunday. China Wall needs to stay competitve if they want to stay in business, but I honestly can't think of anything except customer loyalty that would keep people here. It's not bad! I only write reviews when I get either super excited about the experience or extremely disappointed. This is my first dining experience at this restaurant and also my first in Northern Cali (L.A. Native) and all I have to say to whoever reads the reviews is BELIEVE in it. Our worse chinese buffet restaurants in L.A. couldn't even compare to this one and they're pretty equal in prices. I came in after fasting for 40hrs so I had quite an appetite for a meal, EVERY dish that I tried was completely BLAND. It felt like they watered the food down after cooking it. I'm not a big fan of salty foods but I appreciate when the food is seasoned and it's like NONE of it was. I even tried to initiate and joke with a staff regarding their food but they weren't very entertaining of guests. There were very few items that I kind of considered passable (Orange chicken, even though it's tough and yet overcooked) their sugar glazed peanuts, and last but not least is their string beans. In all honesty, like a few have mentioned, ONLY if you're tight on the budget and would wanna fill your stomach then go ahead and spend it here. When the parents come to town, this is one of two places where we always go. I like it because it's all-you-can-eat, and the restaurant probably loses a lot of money on me, heh heh. There's not a whole lot of variety here. Just the usual chicken, lo mein, chicken, beef, chicken, salad, chicken, shrimp, did I mention chicken? But all the food I've had was good. My test at a buffet: when I'm almost full, do I have a hard time figuring out what I should have more off, because it's all good? For the most part, China Wall's food passes the test. Ok, so I came here mostly because another friend of mine decided to, noting that it wasn't a bad place to eat. To be honest it wasn't bad at all, though it wasn't really spectacular. Everything seemed to be on average with the food with a decent selection. I did really expect better food from the overall size of the place though, but the food was ok and certainly filled me up. The only problem I really had was the fact you couldn't get your own drinks. The waitress took our little drink order and that was the most of it. Rarely did anyone else come by when i needed a refill, and it took a while before I was able to spot someone just to get my refill. That problem alone would've been fixed if the fountain drink dispenser was in an area we could get to. Didn't help when I was feeling particularly thirsty that afternoon either. I did find it amusing and somewhat disturbing when the music playing was probably from a teenager's music player, with a majority of what I heard being selections of Britney Spears.
