Let me start off by saying I'm extremely bothered with what this restaurant has become. As a San Jose native this was my go to Chinese restaurant. In the past few years, the customer service and food quality has gone down tremendously. Last night I placed a $200 order only to find a hair in one of the items and two items missing. When I called in to inform them of the situation, their excuse was that no one in the kitchen has hair and that all the chefs are bald. Then proceeded to say that she checked every item for hair individually before giving me the order. This contradicts what she said. She gave no apology or a solution. Only thing she did was get defensive. It's really unfortunate that China stations standards have lowered. I will never spend another dollar at this restaurant again. read more

I hate to leave negative reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience. My order was missing two side items, and I also found a long black hair in my food, which was very off-putting. When I called to address it, I expected a simple apology and resolution, but instead was met with a response that felt dismissive and argumentative, which made the situation even more frustrating. The food itself was also disappointing. It tasted as though it had been reheated in the microwave. It was lacking in flavor and soggy. Most concerning, my mother-in-law became ill after eating the shrimp. Overall, the combination of poor food quality, an incomplete order, and the way the situation was handled, left a very negative impression. I wholeheartedly appreciate the staff here and for how they were able to accommodate our situation. We had to have a last minute venue change post funeral service and it was a scramble to find a place that could host 50 people within 2 days notice. I forgot to get names, but the man that answered the phone - thank-you for being so understanding of our situation and worked with us. There aren't banquet sets, but I was able to pre-order meal sets for each table of 10. Appetizer, soup, entrees and rice. Of course things never go the way one wants, especially in a highly stressful situation. 2 hours before our initial time of 2:30pm, I had to add 20 more people (2 tables) and thankfully the staff were able to accommodate. Service ended...and everyone just scrambled to the restaurant by 1:30pm. I cannot thank the staff enough that they were able to handle a hoard of people flooding the restaurant, with another additional 30 people that wasn't accounted for coming. Emotions were so high and frustration as well, but the staff made things simple for it all to be managed. There weren't big tables in the restaurant anymore so we were able to work out a mini buffet arrangement for everyone else that filled the booths and such. It felt like a full restaurant takeover. For the amount of food and people there were, food was cranked out quick and I'm glad everyone was fed (despite the complaints, which wasn't the restaurant's fault at all). As for the food, it wasn't much noteworthy though the assorted fried appetizers were pretty nice. I would categorize this as more Americanized Chinese food than anything, it was fine. The battered meats were mostly batter than anything, but overall - it'd do, everyone was fed. Final Thoughts: Overall, I just cannot appreciate the accommodation of the staff. They were scrambling to get something for everyone and we really appreciate it. read more

I have been going to this place for over 20 years. It was the best Chinese food in the area. Over the passed 5-10 years it has easily went to the worst. Horrible customer service. Very rude. And this passed time I got my food there was a long hair in the tofu. I will never eat there again. I called it in, and the lady wasn't sorry, but defensive and still giving attitude. You know, I really waited for after at least 7 visits to truly make a review about this location. Mainly, because I wanted to try out a variety of what this establishment has to offer. China station is a small family owned restaurant that provides such a comfy- home cooked meal experience. The owner, is always there every time I'v visited and he goes out of his way to make sure you are satisfied with your meal. Excellent service. The restaurant is very clean as well as the restrooms, which is somehow hard to come by these days in San Jose. Now, let's talk about the food. The prices are absolutely affordable, especially during the week with their lunch special ($12) and they PACK your plate with whatever courses you desire. That right there surprised me. Assuming its affordability, i thought the quality of the food would be sub-par, and I was wrong. Super delicious!! I recommend ordering the sweet and sour pork and cashew chicken. Such yummy dishes. I used to love this place. As a kid I grew up eating here. Was always my go to for chinese. I had ordered a lot yesterday and it's not the same. The past 3 times I have been there something has changed. It lacks flavor and sauce. The mongolian beef is basically just all carrots now and broccoli beef there's only like 10 beef slices . This hidden Gem is my family and i favorite since I was a child with my parents. My dads absolute favorite when he is craving some chow mein. The prawn chow mein with extra bean sprouts is one of our fave dishes as well and the prawn fried rice deff add some of their chili oil sauce if you want a little kick. Mongolian beef is a must try as well as the sizzling seafood if you like seafood. My husbands favorite is the kung pao chicken and camarones a La plancha I think it is called ? We have been customers here for over 10 years and we still drove one hour and a half to eat here. I have a diabetic son who walked in with small zero sugar soda. As soon as we walked in the older guy with glasses which I think is the owner told us we couldn't walk in with outside drinks. We told him my son was diabetic and he needed to carry a small drink incase his blood sugar would go low but he still denied it so in that case we took it back to the car and mind us we were very respectful throughout his whole situation and we never disrespected the man in any way or form. It got to the point when we were seated and the same older guy came to us and said that " If we weren't comfortable we were welcome to leave and as a matter of fact I will not give you any service in my restaurant ". At this point we felt discriminated so then we asked to talk to his manager or anyone higher than him. Moments later another guy came to us and we explained the whole situation and he said he was sorry and asked to take our order but at this point we were too uncomfortable to eat here so then we walked out. As we walked out we told that same older guy who told us about the drink that he needs to be more kind to the customers and have a better form to treat the people. Normally I would say that whenever we get food here, there's nothing wrong. Today we got prawns with walnuts and we were not satisfied because only half of the togo box was filled with food. I still go from time to time as my parents live very close by but the last two times have been disappointing. The last two times that I've ordered I ordered a half fried rice and wonton soup. The last two times I've got home I opened up the soup to taste nothing but water. The flavor of the soup itself is not there at all like it used to be I cannot express to you how much it taste just like water with zero seasoning whatsoever, the fried rice is still good no complaints there. It's disappointing to get all the way home and have to sit there and either throw out the soup or season it yourself. I also thought it was really weird that when I picked up my last order, I asked them if I could just eat there, the order was already ready and I was going to pay for it so I was just asking if I could eat it there the girl that rang me up said that I couldn't because the portion sizes are different from when you eat when you get it to go, I thought was really odd.
