Very good food. Ginormous portions. Great value. Ordered the Chicken with Broccoli dinner, which came with chicken fried rice, egg roll, and egg drop soup. Enough food for three people! Also ordered a small chicken fried rice, which we did not need because the dinner came with a literal ton of fried rice. The egg roll is all roll...no filling. We won't get them again. Our regular place closed down 4 months ago so we tried here. We had 4 dishes, with beef, chicken, out of the hundred or so choices, so my sample size is pretty small. It was all just very mediocre, nothing bad, well, the egg foo yung sauce I would classify as bad. It had many lumps of undissolved corn starch. And the egg foo yung patties were a bit burnt. They did a good job of trimming fat off of the chicken and beef. The prices are very reasonable. Though I phone ordered ahead, I think they started cooking it when I showed up. So I was there maybe 15 min waiting. During that time, (dinner time), no other customers entered the place. Might be telling... or could just be a coincidence... read more

Amazing food! We tried China Kitchen for the first time after being somewhat disappointed with other similar area restaurants. We were happy to receive large portion sizes for the price as well as delicious food. The hot and sour soup, Kung Pao chicken and Chow Fun with beef were excellent! I've been visiting this place for years. I understand the management has changed over the year. They used to have decent food. But after today's visit, I think this will be my LAST TIME. First of all, when I went to pick up the food, the cashier was a little boy (no more than 6 or 7 years old) I ordered 2 sweet sour chicken, which was COLD when I opened the container. Rice was hard as stone. I asked for Fried pork dumplings and received HALF-Cooked, boiled ones. The dough is barely cooked and super thick, very very doughy and terrible tasting (dipping sauce all over the place) A large chicken lo-Mein is only half full of the container. The total is almost 50 Dollars, but left us hungry because most of the food was so bad we have to throw it away. Never Again. read more

Just not impressed. We ordered a bunch of different items and some portions were very small, it what was not what we expected. Items were Luke warm at best, served small and no longer does anyone answer the phone there, they use an automated answering service. So much for this place. In the last few months, something is different. China Kitchen was one of our all-time favorites. My son would come home from college and China Kitchen was always a must have. No longer. :( I called the night he got home, 15 minutes before they closed and was told the were not taking any more orders. What?!? "Wait... you close at 9pm and it is 8:45... it always takes 10 minutes for you to make the food, why won't you take my order?" Nope... wouldn't budge. Then I ordered another night and they no longer offer free items when you order certain amounts. The coupons they have had for 9 years, are now no longer accepted. Also now every order takes 25 minutes, not 10. And the food quality is not the same. We have gotten the beef lo mein for years and this time it was quite different. Not as flavorful, fresh, or the same. I asked for the woman who has always taken my order and was told she was busy. I'm not sure. I hope she is ok. Very sad and while China Kitchen is still here, we miss it. read more

My family has been coming to China Kitchen for almost a decade. We understand the prices increasing because of the pandemic, no problem! But when you lower the food quality at the same time...? Not acceptable. We all see the portions have gotten smaller and smaller. Within the past few months we've also noticed... The egg foo young is bland, almost no flavor at all. The sauce for the orange chicken has been watered down, becoming a soup rather than a sauce. The last few times we ordered chicken wings they were completely unseasoned, all you could taste is straight up oil...This place used to be our top pick for asian takeout, but until we see some serious quality improvement, none of us will be returning. read more

My husband and I have ordered from here a couple of times and we've been very pleased with the quality of the food. It is a small place so we normally do take out. I wouldn't worry about calling in your food ahead of time either. They are so fast when it comes to making the food that your wait is normally only five to ten minutes at most after placing your order. It's definitely one of the better chinese places I've eaten at in the area. They have a large menu with a great variety and I was extremely surprised at just how cheap they are considering the large portions they give you. We always order the dinner combo: for $9 you choose an entree and you also get a huge side of chicken fried rice, one crab rangoon, one egg roll, either egg drop or hot and sour soup, and a soda. It's soo much food that you could definitely share one dinner combo between two people without a doubt. I'm not going to lie to you...the soup is awful. Way too thick, almost like syrup. But the beef entrees are awesome (especially the hundred flavor beef, soo spicy and delicious) and the egg rolls and crab rangoon are perfect. Plus, the fried rice is the real deal. Not that yellow fake stuff! Overall, China Kitchen is great. I will definitely continue to order from here. read more

I took my daughter to the martial art place which is the next door to China Kitchen. Since we only had 40 minutes between the activities, I decided to get the dinner for us here. We got the dinner comb with Fish and veggitables. This place is a typical take out place so I didn't expect the fantastic food. However, the fish fillet was too small to be found. Usually this means both the quantity nor the quality were not good. Since the fish was frozen for a long time so it broke to small pieces when they cooked it. The broccoli tasted OK but not the baby corn nor the carrots. The side is the chicken fried rices where was totally dark due to the excessively used soy sauce. Didn't think Chicken was fresh enought neither. Maybe just one time glitch for this place where other visitors had a better experience. I will just leave this one alone. read more

I ordered from here all the time last summer and it was great quality and the dollar menu items were just the perfect size for me. I just ordered the same items I would get last year and I got about half the amount I had gotten before. The orange chicken were tiny crispy chewy pieces of chicken. The sweet and sour chicken was mushy. I found small black hair in the chicken fried rice. The chicken in the fried rice is basically inedible, it is gray and dry and tastes awful. The portions are HUGE - the "small" is a standard size....I'm sure the "regular/large" could feed a small army. As a great low-cost Chinese takeout in the Naperville area, there's not a whole lot to complain about. The people who work there are friendly, although seem to strictly abide by "Chinese takeout time measurement" where no matter what you order it'll always be "fifteen minutes" even though it might be ready in as little as five. When I go here, I don't eve bother calling as I'd rather stand around for five or ten minutes and have my food hot and ready than planning on being there after the pre-designated fifteen minutes only to have had my food getting cold for the last ten. Here's some tips: -There's a unadvertised dollar menu that you'll see when you go to pick up your food. On this menu there's things like single egg rolls, plain fried rice, and other single-serve basics. All of this stuff is prepared almost instantly too, so if you want something quick and don't care about getting fancy, you can buy yourself a feast for like $4. -Insist you want them to go "easy on the sauce." China Kitchen is yet another Chinese place that'll go absolutely insane with saucing your food, leaving your chop suey swimming. -Avoid the chicken, I'm not sure why, but it always seems to be weirdly rubbery and full of gnarly bits that you can't really identify. -The potstickers, eggrolls, and crab rangoon are all great. -If you order a small fried rice, ask for it in a large container. Instead of a container that's bursting out the top barely held together with a staple, you get a much more sane packaging option. read more

I'm disappointed in the food we received today because usually this place is delicious. We ordered chicken lo mein, schezuan beef w/ fried rice instead of white, egg rolls, and crab rangoons. The chicken lo mein was decent. The beef as usual was delicious. They don't skimp on the meat and the vegetables are always good. The fried rice was a joke. We told them they could upcharge us-which they did ($1.63) and what we got was white rice with soy sauce. HA! What a joke. The egg rolls were your typical jumbo egg rolls. Fulfilled the craving. The crab rangoons really missed the mark. Half of them exploded and had no filling. Just air! You could tell they had exploded too because you could see the filling smudged on the outside and the holes in the wonton. Quality at a reasonable price! We've been ordering from China Kichen for several years now and have been quite satisfied. We probably have averaged once a month. While I tend to rotate between my 2 or 3 favorite dishes, my wife has experimented with a wider variety. I don't remember either of us ever being disappointed. Our orders have always been ready at the promised time, and are hot and fresh. Prices are very reasonable, especially when you factor in the freebies you get based on the cost of your order.
