    Singapore noodles

If you call yourself Magic Kitchen, it better be magical. Well, it's good and there are a handful of "authentic" Chinese dishes on the menu. The interior is quite small, so you're really here for takeout or lunch. The service is okay, but it seems to get lost once they start trying to juggle their takeout and dine-in customers. I was very pleased with their Singapore noodles and beef noodle soup. I just wish there was more to their menu when it came to non-Americanized items. Call me spoiled coming from Chinatown. Certainly a family-ish run establishment that I will come to from time to time.

My friend and I ordered from here last night and really enjoyed this food! He thought it was some of the best egg drop soup he's had. I liked the dinner combos, where you can get a smaller portion of various entrees along with steamed or fried rice and crab rangoon or egg roll. I got this with kung pao beef and it was just right! Magic Kitchen has the magic touch! I will order from them again next time I want Chinese.

客家小炒 (Stir fried pork with veggies)

My family and I used to go to the restaurant all the time when it was still Great Wall. This was my first time there after the new owners had taken over. The new owners had remodeled the place so it felt more open and not as dirty as it used to be. Bathroom was also a lot nicer than it used to be as well, but the place is still a bit on the older side. We usually always get the same dishes and I was pleasantly surprised to find the flavors were very similar and yummy. My parents have been to the restaurant more times than I have and have picked out some dishes that are good ( there are some that we stay away from because they are just not good IE the walnut shrimp) We ordered: -客家小炒 (Stir fried pork with vegetables) : Flavor was good as well the portion. It's nice and salty so it goes great with white rice. -長城豆腐 (Fried tofu with black bean sauce) : Tofu is well fried and matches well with the sauce -絲瓜魚片 (Fish filet with Chinese okra) : very nice and light flavor. Fish is nice. Chinese okra is a hard vegetable to work with sometimes just because it can be bitter , but the owner told us they try the okra every time they serve it to make sure it isn't too bitter. There were a few pieces that were bitter but for the most part came out pretty nice! -Fried shrimp: flavor was good just a bit on the drier side Service was also great, food took a bit to get to us at first but as soon as the first dish came the rest followed. We will be sure to be back very soon! Pro: -Flavor (on certain dishes) -Remodeled -Adequate pricing -Service Con: -A bit older structure -Some parts of dishes (see above) -pacing of food (especially in beginning)

Almond Chicken w/ fried rice, egg roll & fortune cookie!

Picked up carry out for lunch today...still one of our favorite Chinese restaurants. Fresh, authentic, reasonable $. Still only doing order/carry out...but what a nice treat to take home or eat at a park! Highly recommend you try this little gem tucked away in a Lisle shopping mall. You won't be sorry!Chicken with Broccoli, Szechuan String Beans, Almond Chicken...etc! Several Lunch specials!! Treat your tummy!!

We were in a pinch & needed a quick fix that would hit the spot. I had higher expectations based on what I had generally seen on yelp so a little disappointing to say the least. Orange chicken was a little too sweet which reminded me more of general tsaos. Also, the chicken itself was leathery as well as rubbery/bouncy. The cashew nut chicken was a bit on the saltier side. I did like the fried rice, that was solid. I also appreciated the substantial portions for the price. Overall, there's more be desired in the quality & flavor. Will need to give them another shot in the near future.

Ordered lunch box, the food is ok but way too salty. Refused to adjust the salt and oil level when ordering due to small order.

How big is it inside? Could they fit a group of more than 5?

Yes it is big enough, they are getting quite busy though, book in advance so you don't have a chance to be disappointed. If it is during lunch hours, right now they are very free.

We arrived on a Friday night just before 9:00 PM and had no trouble finding street parking--always a win. We were greeted by our waitress, Jennifer, who was absolutely amazing. She let us know about their late-night perk: half-price small plates and select drinks on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 PM until close, which is such a great incentive for heading out later in the evening. Jennifer was attentive without being intrusive--our water glasses were always full, she checked in after every course, and her recommendations for both food and drinks were spot-on. We started with a Mad Rose for V and a Chameleon for me. Both cocktails were delicious, and after finishing his Mad Rose, V definitely felt the celebratory spirit kicking in. For appetizers, we shared the Vietnamese Summer Rolls and Sweet Chili Calamari. The summer rolls were light, fresh, and nicely accented with mint. The calamari was sweet with a surprisingly spicy finish--delicious, though the heat was just a bit much for V. I'd happily order both again. For my main course, I had the Wagyu Beef Stroganoff, and wow--hands down the best stroganoff I've ever had. The beef was incredibly tender, and the sauce was perfectly balanced with the noodles. It even paired beautifully with my Chameleon, with subtle lemon notes that complemented each other surprisingly well. V ordered the Tomahawk Pork Chop, cooked medium well and absolutely perfect. He loved every bite. It came with a risotto that he enjoyed, even if it wasn't the standout of the dish. Dessert sealed the deal. We finished with Sandy's White Wine Cake--which reminded me of a carrot cake in the best way--and the Banana Cream Pie, which was easily the best banana cream pie I've ever had. Truly a WOW moment. Between the excellent food, thoughtful service, and great late-night specials, Entourage made V's birthday celebration one to remember. We'll definitely be back. Sorry, I wish I had pics but I left my phone behind today.

I ordered from Entourage Downers Grove and was honestly impressed with how well everything held up for delivery. The standout for me was the lobster bisque. It arrived at the perfect temperature, which is pretty impressive for delivery. The bisque was rich and luscious without feeling overly heavy, and the basil oil added a nice brightness that balanced the creaminess beautifully. It also had a generous amount of lobster, including several large chunks, and was a very solid portion overall. The filet mignon sliders were another highlight. Each slider had a substantial piece of filet mignon topped with pickled onions, microgreens, and horseradish cream on brioche buns. The onions and horseradish added enough acidity and bite to balance the richness of the beef without overpowering it. I also tried the Vietnamese summer rolls, filled with roasted shiitake mushrooms, fresh vegetables, and rice noodles, served with both peanut sauce and sweet chili sauce. Everything tasted very fresh, and the sauces complemented the generously stuffed rolls nicely. My only small critique is that cutting them in half made for a prettier presentation, but made them a little awkward to dip and eat. Overall, this was a surprisingly strong delivery experience, and I would absolutely order from them again, or better yet, make it over to the restaurant itself next time I'm in the area.

I was excited to take my son here tonight, I just left and wasn't able to eat any dinner. The first thing that I noticed was the salt shaker was sticky and greasy with gunk all at the top and I asked for it to be exchanged. Just disgusting! I ordered prime rib, medium rare and it tasted terrible! It was definitely done medium and well done on the edges. I told the waiter I didn't like it and he asked me if I wanted something else. I asked him if the shrimp soup had gluten in it and he said yes. So then I told him I'll just take the escargot because it's getting late and I don't want to wait for another steak to be cooked as my son was almost done eating. Service was absolutely terrible! We hardly saw our waiter. He was not attentive. He wasn't apologetic and it seemed from my opinion that he was a bus boy filling in. ( sadly, the manager said he is a regular server) He gave us our dessert menus and filled our cups with water, but never took my son's desert order. We waited and waited. We couldn't even see him within eye shot for a good amount of time. MIA I went up to the front to request the manager. I spoke to a female manager, who was more than rude. Just nasty ( now that I scroll back there are other reviews referencing rude wait staff and a nasty manager) I kindly told her the experience I had and how awful it was and how I will not be back and I'm going to leave a review. I didn't yell but thoroughly explained the situation. I told her what happened and that I still have not eaten any dinner and My son had finished....His dessert order still had not been taken, and I have never received my escargot. I proceeded to ask her how long escargot takes. She said typically 20 minutes. Then she literally said to me in a loud voice. "well I was going to comp your dinner, but since you're gonna leave me a SHITTY review anyway I'm not going to do that". The first thing I told her was "I never asked you to comp anything for me" then she said she could've charged me for the steak. Lol charge me for the steak that they cooked incorrectly and they tasted terrible and they are already took back?? Excuse me? How can you have a Manager that curses at customers?? For the record, I never cursed at her. She must just have a potty mouth. I then relayed to her what I expect from a manager: to get another server or somebody to help us right away because we're still waiting. The manager had to go looking for the waiter about five minutes later she comes to my table with the waiter to " fight it out" and she tells me I never ordered escargot! Then the waiter tells me "you told me you didn't want anything else" I said where are you getting this from? I asked you if the soup had gluten in it you said yes so then I told you I'll order the escargot. So, in my opinion the waiter lied in front of the manager and said I never ordered anything! Of course, the manager completely believed the waiter and had no apologies to offer at all. Why would I go looking for the manager to check on my escargot if i never ordered it? Or was the waiter just not listening? or was there a language barrier? I have no idea but the whole experience was awful. If you're thinking about coming here for good food or good service, it's my opinion please just save yourself the trip and the money. After my son was done with his dessert, the waiter actually said "I'm just going to charge you for your meal and dessert" and I'm thinking to myself well what else would you charge me for? You took back my steak and you never brought out the escargot I ordered. One star is too much for this place- I will never be back. My son is a server at an upscale restaurant in Oakbrook and even said he thought the service was terrible and he would never be able to get away with that without getting in trouble at his restaurant. So I left tonight eating nothing but the the side of coleslaw and a sweet potato for dinner. Horrific experience that ruined our dinner. Maybe this is what you get from a family owned establishment that doesn't have to follow corporate rules like so many upscale restaurants do.... I went there once and it was good, but I should've read the bad reviews because they also reflect rude wait staff poor, Service and a nasty manager. Not to mention one review talks about the staff lying that they touched the drink that they wanted to refund on when they never did. I encountered all of those poor experiences tonight. And unfortunately, no one seems to care. Never again. Nope.

The avocado in the crabmeat avocado appetizer was not fresh either (please see picture). There were shell fragments mixed in with the oysters. It honestly felt like they were not shucked properly in the kitchen. Finding shell pieces in oysters is not something I expect from a restaurant at this price point!! The second time, it was Monday when the oysters are $1.25 and we weren't acknowledged, so we decided to seat ourselves at an open table we saw just to be told to wait and that someone would be with us....we stood at the counter waiting for a good 5 minutes and no one came to us so we sat on the bench in the front for what felt like 15-20 minutes. Finally, someone came just as I was getting ready to pick another place for dinner. Based on that wait time to get seated, we were smart enough to put in everything we wanted to order for our meal since we knew it would take a while to get someone's attention again. I like coming to Shuckin' because of that oyster deal and everyone else might have the same idea which is why they were so busy. Minus the wait and mid service, what brings up the rating for me is their food. Everything I've gotten here is pretty good and I haven't gotten anything yet that I didn't like.

I came with a group of 8 and it was the perfect spot for us. This spot is the truly the perfect comfort food, especially on a really cold day! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The love the seafood pancake, japchae, and fried dumplings for appetizers! The bento boxes are always nice with different varieties. Bibimbap is good as well. My favorite is the soondubu jjigae. If I'm craving for noodles, sometimes I'll order it with the ramen otherwise I get the regular white rice. Love to crack my egg in there while the soup is still bubbling and hot! Also, love all of the banchan that they give out here. So simple but this place is truly the perfect meal!
