Very good chinese food. Their combo platters are fresh and tasty and reasonably priced. They are located by a Walmart and the traffic can be annoying getting in and out and the parking situation isn't great, but it's worth it. It'a a family business and they run a clean, efficient restaurant. It has several tables for seating, but I always get takeout. Their dumplings are why I've switched to this location and they are great. It's hard to find good Chinese good, that has robust flavor throughout, but this place achieves that. I really hate to do this, but too many things not good. I ordered Shrimp toast, hot and sour soup and orange chicken dinner, as well as roast pork egg foo Young. I'll say the good things first, The shrimp toast was the largest I'v had and had it not been over cooked, (very dark brown) I would have been happy, as the flavor I could get was good, the Hot and Sour Soup, had Cloud's ears (which few places use and I appreciated it,) but the broth was pretty flavorless, I doctored it tho. The orange chicken, the pork fried rice had peas which I liked, but again, not a lot of flavor and the Orange chicken, well, I had to search for Orange flavor. The dinner came with an egg roll which I have not had as yet, BUT, there were NO condiments in the bag,, tho did did put 3 fortune cookies in.. but no sauces of any kind....NEVER had that happen before. I had read a good review on the egg foo young, but I have to say, it was probably the least good I have ever had and again, the gravy was very bland without flavor. Fortunately, I have a lot of good Asian condiments, tho not currently the duck sauce, so I used a jelly to make some. I shouldn't have had to do that..I REALLY wanted to like their food.. read more

I understand this is a family business and you save money by employing your kids but sometimes they can cost you money. The boy that answers the phone and works the front is extremely rude and impatient. My first time eating here was just last week. They are new to the area but the food is actually really good! It was flavorful so you don't have to cover it in duck or soy sauce. I had chicken noodle soup and the noodles were hand made and delicious so was the broth. I also had spring rolls and vegetable egg foo young and by far the best I've had in a long time. I didn't have to sop up the grease with napkins before eating which I have to do everywhere else! My husband also said his food was great and he is a sesame chicken lover. I absolutely love this place. They have pad thai! I got the chicken pad thai and beef sticks. The beef sticks were flavorful and tender. The pad thai was delicious. Enough chicken ratio with the noodles. Looking forward to going back to try more yummy food. read more

Let me start with OMG! My family and I tried this place last night. We have been trying to find a new take out Chinese go to since we moved to Orange Park April 2016.. We have FINALLY found our go to place! We almost always get heartburn from Chinese food and none of us did at this restaurant! We love the free options for spending $20, $30, or $40+.. The food was made VERY quickly and tasted amazing! We chose to sit in and eat it fresh, and it was a nice atmosphere, not too warm even though it's a take out place and they are usually a bit stuffy. We will make this our take out Chinese destination from now on and tell friends about it. read more

I remember when this place opened! And up until about 6-7 months ago I really enjoyed this place. The food used to always be piping hot, and always had great flavor! Recently, it has been pretty unappetizing, cold, bland, and as of today it tasted old. The last time I ordered I thought It was just a fluke, so I waited a few weeks. I ordered fried chicken wings with shrimp fried rice at 3:37pm today, after I opened the order at home and realized that the shrimp fried rice was VERY VERY OLD, and the chicken was fried in old grease. The shrimp in the rice was not even fried, it looked like it came out of the cold shrimp container from the supermarket, no seasoning, color, or taste. The shrimp were cold and the OLD rice, peas, and carrots looked like they were warmed in a microwave then served to me. I've eaten at every Chinese restaurant in the area, from Fleming Island to Middleburg, OP and within the general vicinity of this restaurant in Jax... In my opinion, China Kitchen's food tastes like its made with higher quality ingredients than the majority of other Chinese takeout restaurants. We ordered the steamed dumplings (twice the size of of most dumplings, far meatier and a thicker, heartier dumpling), crab wontons (they were decent but there's room for improvement), mandarin chicken (plenty of tender meat, fresh fried rice that was light and well flavored with plenty of veggies and chunks of pork), egg rolls (fried perfectly, not oily, loaded with veggies, good flavor), sweet and sour chicken (perfectly fried, not oily, no old stale oil aftertaste that's often an issue with takeout fried foods). The dumpling sauce was homemade and delicious. The only problem was, the dipping sauces (for the crab rangoons and dumplings) were very small, half full and if you purchased two entrees, you should automatically be given two dipping sauces for the appetizers - one per person. I don't share a communal condiment dipping bowl (especially when it's the size of a quarter, how do you share such a thing?). read more
