This restaurant is one of a dying breed. Chinese-Cuban restaurants used to be much more common than they are today. The ambiance here is simple, and it is indeed a mix of Cuba and China. There are red carnations on one side and a Chinese New Year's lantern on the other side. The service was okay, but they did forget that we ordered pork chops. The food was great. The broiled fish I had was perfect, it was covered in a delicious garlic and butter sauce. I also loved the pork fried rice, the platanos, and the coffee. I was also able to sample the ropa vieja. Good ropa vieja is very difficult to find, but it was perfectly made here. All of this food was very reasonably priced. Next time, we will try the combo meals. read more

I ca here with some friends. It's always good to see more Chino/Latino fusion restaurants in the city--we need to keep these gems around. The food here was delicious and fresh. The service was as good as the food, and our waiter was attentive but not in an overbearing way. We ordered the beef and broccoli, chicharron de pollo sin hueso (boneless crackling chicken), and the bistec encebollado (steak with onions). We all got our meals with pork fried rice and vegetable lo mein. The portions were generous; we each shared from each other's plates and still had enough to take home. The beef with broccoli and steak was flavorful and not tough like at other places. The chicken was crispy but still juicy. If you're ever in Corona, I would recommend you check out this place. Especially if you're craving Chinese food with a splash of Spanish mixed in, make sure you get the house iced tea with your food to complete the meal! read more

The best Chinese takeout you'll ever get. Everything is prepared well, and just made with lots and lots of LOVE. The food is consistently very good and although I've never been into the physical restaurant since I always order take out, it is my mission to visit in person this year. The staff were incredibly surprised to see me. They were super nice to me and talked to me in Cantonese. They were probably wondering what the heck was I doing in Corona by myself. I was waiting for a friend and where else am I going to get a Chinese-Spanish style bistek or chuleta frita in Corona? Well not many. There is another place on Junction but it actually taste better here. We had the steak and eggs, wonton soup and the fried pork chops. I am not keen on the wonton soup but he rest of it was good. The atmosphere is devoid but that is not what I am here for. I can sit down and have a conversation without much people bothering me and there is almost no chance of me running into anyone I know. The asian employees speaking Spanish to all of the locals is when I knew I had chosen the right place. I fell in love with this restaurant when I was first introduced to it about 3 years ago and why it stands as my favorite neighborhood local restaurant is because of the unique deep flavors each dish has. The quality and flavor of the food is the exact same as it was throughout the years and that is also very important to me. I personally how they incorporate garlic/onions in some of their dishes and they have really perfected the recipe. Here are the things I have been getting that never ceases to amaze me- 1. The green sauce is to die for and the restaurant's best kept secret. My friends and I tried the fried rice, shrimp Lo Mein, broiled fish, garlic shrimp, tostones, milkshakes (my favorite is guanabana) and the coffee flan. Everything exceeded our expectations. I was in the area and stumbled upon this Chinese Latin restaurant that caught my eye. Figured I would try the best of both worlds. Dined here when indoor dining started to open back up. Good amount of space between tables, very clean, and all staff were super friendly. They seemed to take COVID very seriously. All the food were very delicious especially the tostones, beef with broccoli, pork fried rice, and crackling fried chicken. Might've been the best tostones I've ever had (and I can't believe it coming from a Chinese restaurant). All the seafood dishes I had were also incredibly fresh which was surprising as well. I live on the opposite end of nyc in Brooklyn and I will go out of my way each time to stop here. I literally fantasize about the shrimp and maduros. They are generous portions and sooo savory and delicious. They have this amazing secret green sauce I literally drown everything in because I can't get enough. It's family owned and you can see them taking turns working, really nice people too. The owner Fanny is always smiling and so sweet she treats you like family.
