Was looking to try a new place and China Café popped up. It is located in the Target shopping plaza next to Sushi Bang Bang and Fresh Watch. Since I tend to go early, the place was empty when I arrived. Within an hour a good crowd came in. Selecting off their Lunch menu, chose the chicken in garlic sauce. It comes with a soup, white rice, and egg roll. Also included an order of Crab Puff as a starter. First out is the wonton soup: two wontons, green onions and mushrooms were floating in the broth, not too salty, good flavor, and filling. They also brought me the crunchy noodles that I love. Next presented were the crab puffs, shaped in triangle and not what I was expecting. With them was a sweet and sour sauce. Definitely crunchy on the edges, then you get to the middle with the filling and WOW so good. Lots of cream cheese and you could taste the crab. Here comes the entrée and the aroma is intoxicating. Loaded with chicken, also includes bamboo shoots, green onions, water chestnuts, mushrooms, and of course garlic. I dug in to find it is hot, not spicy but hot temperature. Yeah, I burnt my mouth but it didn't stop me. This was good. Rice was cooked nicely and the egg roll was crispy6 and full of vegetables. Portion was enough to take home half of it. They were a little hard to find. They are next to Sushi Bang Bang. There was a green sign next to road, on 183, that said "China Cafe". We looked on the 1st row of stores. It is actually on the 2nd row of stores! Nice & clean. Food came out fast. Friendly waitress! Big servings, so leftovers for the next day OR share a meal and add sides of egg rolls & soup! General Tso's chicken was a bit too spicy & we would bite into hard chunks of chicken (like the chicken wasn't cut carefully enough?). The chicken that didn't have the tough chunks was good, but you didn't know until you bit into chicken! Now the Chicken Sizzling Plate was wonderful! We would order that again for sure!!! We'll be back, as we want to try many items on the menu! Oh, & please add the sugar in the yellow packets (Splenda). read more

Rancid meat and soggy food. I used to like this place but it's just horrible now. The past few orders were inedible and made us sick (literally food poisoning from eating here on two occasions). Not sure the health department is doing their job here as this is beyond what should be tolerated. It's dangerous to eat here. AVOID! You are taking a major risk eating here. read more

Yay I finally found my fav Chinese place I decided to order from here because the menu looked unique. Ordering with door dash has its days and it was a good day as the food was piping hot. - I love that they give you options of wanting food spicy cause I love spice in everything. - The quantity and quality of the food is amazing and for the price they give you a great ratio of meat and veggies -While am not a huge veggie fan I was really blown away by the fresh veggies so crunchy so good - I really love the taste of both dishes each had a unique flavor. My fav was def Hunan lamb it was delicious and they even used fresh jalapeños which really compliments the dish. - Am really amazed with the quantity of food given am def ordering something else cause am a huge fan of this place yum yum yum must try read more

I ordered a dish to-go without mushrooms. The dish came out with mushrooms. I called the store and alerted them that it had mushrooms. The female employee offered me cash back. The male employee took the phone and said, "I packed the dish personally and there were no mushrooms." I said they were obvious and he said to bring it back to the store for them to see and prepare another dish. I took the dish back to the store and the mushrooms were obvious to the male employee. I asked him how did he miss that. I asked for a refund. There was some pushback. This is what you call arrogance. I was out of lunch and time. This is terrible customer service. read more

I really loved this cozy spot. Lots of options to chose from and an extensive lunch menu until 3pm. My server, Jenny, was super attentive and sweet; also the host was great. The Hot & Sour soup was perfectly comforting. I'm a huge Hot & Sour fan; I only wished it was a bit more sour and spicy. But if you've never had it before, this would be a good place to try it for the first time to acclimate yourself to the sour flavor. The amount of sesame oil was good: toasty and perfect umami. Green onion made it brighter. The Chicken with Garlic sauce was delicious and very savory. Tender thin sliced chicken with tons of mushrooms and some onion/green onions. Not really spicy to me; I should've asked for chili oil. Lol My ONLY complaint is that the menu doesn't do a great job of describing what the flavors are. Some dishes are pretty self evident (like garlic sauce). But there are some dishes with names that may not be obvious as to the flavor profiles. I hate to bother servers to ask what something tastes like. A little description would be helpful in deciding. Price is pretty standard for evening dishes. $14 standard price for all chicken dishes and they all come with steamed rice. Overall it was a good meal. Probably one of the best, if not the best, Chinese take out in the area imo. My experiences/review are only based on take out, but aside from one, they've all been good. One time I tried to order online and I kept getting directed to grub hub, definitely didn't want to do that. Two other times no issues, and I received an email confirmation. If you like spicy, the Kon Pao shrimp is amazing. Perfect level of heat, and a very generous portion. I've heard the lo mein is pretty amazing too. 4 stars instead of 5, I've yet to ever received to go cutlery with an order. And I feel like their on line ordering has some consistency issues to work out. The weird grub hub thing, and sometimes I get texts when my order is ready, sometimes I don't. Not world ending nor stopping me from ordering/recommending, just something they could work on or improve. My first time dining here, beautiful and clean, traditional style,I love the overall look of the this place it's great. The waitress provided great service, food was good, A little different then I like but that's just my opinion. UPDATE 8/28/2020 Craving Chinese food today. Of course I had to get Mongolian beef, but I needed something new and with limited pictures and not much description I just decided to wing it hoping I wouldn't be disappointed. I got cabbage chicken in hot sauce and I'm now convinced I could blindly order ANYTHING on the menu and I would love it. From the vegetables to the chicken and the sauce there's no comparison in the area. Good food, good flavor, amazing prices. I ordered steamed dumplings, Mongolian beef, and spicy beef Lo Mein. All of the food was excellent and spicy with a great depth of flavor- you can tell who ever is cooking this food loves food. A few weeks ago I had ordered terrible Chinese food from a different restaurant and couldn't even eat it, the next day I ordered from China cafe and they satisfied my need for great Chinese food. So happy to see that China Cafe moved locations instead of closing!! We would come here often as a family when I was a kid and it was always one of our favorite places. I'm happy to say that they're still just as delicious as I remember and the new location is nice and a tiny bit closer to me. We ordered the pu pu platter for a variety of appetizers, the beef sticks & fried shrimp were on point! Then we shared the sesame chicken and the dragon & lion fight dinners. Both dinners were delicious & came w plenty of rice to share, we would definitely order them again. Plenty of food to take home for later and the left overs did travel well. I love China cafe . I especially love the Shirley Temple! Worth every dollar-- makes my kid happy. Came in a huggggeee foam cup: the amazement factor of the giant cup was what made me write the review. If they wanted to up their game they could add a few actual maraschino cherries instead of just the sauce. We would have loved it even more. The giant cup will keep me coming back. Our favorite here is the beef broccoli. It lasts many days. The plain fried rice also a great add. I think some of their sesame fried chicken etc could be just a bit crispier so it's not mushy. The egg rolls and dumplings were a hit for us - eat in , but I don't know how they tasted ordering. I also love eating at the restaurant. It actually has a great ambiance . I do not even know where to start about this establishment. I absolutely adore the ambiance and music is so calming. The servers are working really hard and fast. I swear I was not even waiting for 20 minutes before my food came. Once I got my food which was the seafood combination with seamed rice I found that this is a dish I really enjoyed and loved how they incorporated some of my favorite seafoods like shrimp and calamari. I have been coming here for almost 10 years and liked their old location they are a little hard to find but it is 100% worth it. I ate with them at their last location. When they closed down, I was devistated. But they were just moving! So happy they're back open again and can't wait to see their new location. Food was always delicious and staff was always friendly. I've had a few good convos with some of their waitresses. :) this place is one of me and my fiancé's go-to Chinese spots. Food is always hot. This restaurant pleasantly surprised me. I decided to get since it opened up near my house and didn't expect much from the visit. I got the wonton soup which was very flavorful, however some of the wonton was a bit chewy. The soup came with two huge wontons but the actual stuffed part was pretty small. The soup was good nonetheless though. Then I got the Mongolian beef and it was delicious! The beef was so tender which is hard to find at some Chinese restaurants. The sauce had the right amount of oil at the bottom that didn't make it really oily but gave it that nice smoky taste. The waitress told me that it was really spicy so she said she'd tell them to make it mild. It wasn't spicy at all which was perfect. A note on the waitress, she was very nice! Food is okay, not great but not bad. The managers are soooo rude. They loose their temper when busy very quick and easy. They don't bring the food out to your car if you want pick up because they can't seem to retain employees. I would assume it's because of their rude manager. There is no dine-in since COVID and the lobby gets full with only three people and they don't really enforce masks or distance once you are inside. Go at your own risk. read more

I just ordered a Singapore rice noodle for takeout and unfortunately was not impressed.. Don't know how it ended up being overly spiced and under seasoned at the same time. It was so spicy to the point it was almost inedible to me. I didn't finish the dish. Oh, and they refused to bring the takeout outside for curbside pick up during the worst stage of COVID. I already paid for the food over the phone and was literally standing in front of their door looking into their eyes and begging them to bring the food out. And their answer is "I can't come out. I just moved to the Lakeline area and was looking for a good Chinese place. I ordered takeout tonight, steamed dumpling, house spicy chicken and a side of hot chili oil. First, the guy who took my order was pretty short and not friendly. I asked for Fried Rice instead of white rice. Either they don't "up charge and replace" white rice, or he just charged me $3.00 for friend rice and didn't care. Sadly, it was $3.00 and I have a side of white rice I didn't want. The dumpling are definitely frozen and were microwaved. A steamed dumpling never has that rubbery feel unless it was microwaved. Gross. They included a lot of dipping sauce but it was soo watered down that it didn't even taste salty. It's clear they water down the sauce and make these in prepared batches. The house chicken also had no flavor. It was chicken, with water chestnuts and some squash. The side of hot oil was also tasteless, with little heat. I don't know how they did it! They even charged 50 cents for a side of hot oil. This was the first time I've even been charged for a side of hot chili oil. I noticed the also charge for packing supplies for your order. It seems like they nickel and dime, and don't focus on quality of their food. Soo many mixed reviews on here. I'd not recommend eating here. The $25 was steep for a below mediocre quality meal. read more
