I had the most terrible experience in the hospitality field today. This place has great food and a cool atmosphere, but the problem is their service is awful. They were understaffed which makes no sense because they're making good money.. so there's staff. We're working three jobs instead of having just one roll. I tried to get service they wouldn't give me service and then in the end. JP said I was drunk even though I had two beers and they would not serve me anymore and I was trying to get them to serve me and they just would not I am a disabled man. I draw social security. This was discrimination in its worst example. I suffer from bipolar disorder and I've been manic. I can be hard to be around in America. I might make people uncomfortable but I can't help it. This place is really good. Despite being packed, the service was excellent and the food came out flavorful and well done. I had the blackened CR fish sandwich and the oysters. We haven't been back here in nearly 4 years, but the food and service are just as good as we remember them being. We came on a Thursday evening and was immediately seated after we walked in. Two waters were brought out to us and two menus. After a very brief wait, we put in our order for two steaks. I ordered the 12oz New York Strip and P2 had the 14oz Ribeye Steak. Both entrees came with two sides of our choosing. We opted for mixed veggies, sweet potato fries, and grilled asparagus. We also ordered fried crawfish tails as an appetizer. The crawfish tails came out about 5 min later, and the steaks about 7 min after that. Everything we ate was delicious. The appetizer was crunchy and meaty, the steaks were cooked to temperature, and our steamed vegetables were seasoned perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. For the quality and portion sizes, we thought the pricing was fair. All in all, we paid $80 for everything, including tip. CR Surf & Turf is our go-to spot for celebrating special occasions. Very disappointing. The inside was extremely smoky smelling and our table and chairs were sticky. The service was dismal. My husband ordered the special chicken made with crab on top. When he took a bite he had to spit it out because the crab tasted old. We told the waitress and she just said the cook said it isn't bad and didn't apologize or ask if we wanted something different, just left it there! This review is from a visit in May. I was unable to finish it until now. We have eaten here several times throughout the last couple years and love the remodel and extra space it added to the restaurant. It's the closest place to order fresh quality fish in the Cedar Park area and frankly we have been to other higher end fish and seafood restaurants (price and decor wise) in the Austin area and taste at CR Turf far outweighs those. Overall service is good to excellent, there can be a little sluggishness when they are full up. Now about the food. We have experienced nothing but deliciousness ! We started with the gumbo, and it was easily one of the best we've had--rich, flavorful, and packed with seafood and veggies. A must-try! Next, we had the Shrimp Diablo, which arrived hot and full of bold flavors. Another hit. For the main event, we ordered 2 lbs of crawfish at $15.99 per pound--whew! Unfortunately, the flavors just didn't hit the mark. We ordered mild, and while it came with potatoes, corn, and mushrooms, it lacked the bold Vietnamese-Cajun seasoning we were expecting. I had to ask for a side of butter to help enhance the taste. We also got a dozen char-grilled oysters, but they were just okay. The garlic tasted burnt, which overpowered the oysters and cheese. It was a cute place with nice ambience. The food was lacking and they were overpriced. A fourth of their menu says market price which is a little frustrating but understandable. My husband had the fried cod and doesn't recommend. I had the mahi mahi in a cream sauce, it was dry, though the waiter had informed me he preferred the salmon because of that reason. Service was good except at the end my husband asked if they did veteran discount and the waiter confirmed they did. Then forgot to add the discount. Not a huge deal. read more

We love this place! They have very tasty oysters on the half shell as well as peel & eat big shrimp! Their black peppercorn crawfish tail appetizer is so great with a fresh lemony dipping sauce. The gumbo is delicious. My favorite entree is the 9 oz filet mignon steak with fresh mashed potatoes, cream gravy from scratch & fresh asparagus lightly steamed! We are catholic & as you may know, catholics eat fish on Fridays during the Lenten season, so we decided to try it out after Stations of the Cross service at St. Williams Catholic Church in Round Rock b/c my sister & I had heard great things from friends about the restaurant. Been coming here for 9 years and it's consistently delicious with great service, best prices, and a casual and nice atmosphere. Honestly, I recommend the Cajun shrimp appetizer. It's creamy, meaty, and delicious! Also we get the oysters often and they are priced so well and I like that they cut the vein. I trust this place. A gem of a seafood restaurant in Cedar Park. This place is Asian owned, so there are some Asian flavors in some of their dishes. We arrived in a party of 6 around dinnertime on a Sunday, and waited about 15 minutes for a table. We ordered everything to be shared among the group, and enjoyed it all. The food came out fairly quickly and our service was great. My favorites were the Cajun fried rice and the black peppercorn shrimp. They seasoned the dishes well and wasn't overly salty. OK, this place was a complete surprise. I read the reviews online, and could not believe this was a "Casual" restaurant with the types of food they were service. But, as soon as you walk in, and you see it is one big room with a lot of small wooden tables. Everybody there looks like couples and families, and all in shorts and tees (have to be in this 110 degree weather)! My husband and I went in around 5PM on a Saturday, and it was busy, but we got in with no wait. We sat right next to live lobster tanks. It was actually kind of sad to see that, as one tank, none were moving. Other one was packed, and only a couple could crawl over the others in tank. I looked at menu, and there was only like 2 dishes (1 being a lobster boil) where these would be used. But, onto the great part of the restaurant....C.J. was our waitress, and she was all smiles, and always polite and funny during the course of our dinner! We ordered the "Oysters Rockefeller". She said she would put that in first...but, it did come out WITH our main meal, oh well. My husband ordered the BIG 18 Ribeye steak with fried and salad. C.J. said she makes the salad, and my husband was glad it mostly iceburg lettuce (as he hates the "weedy" kind...LOL). It was a huge salad (see pic). I was not in mood for anything "fried", so went with the grilled Mahi-Mahi, and came with this crab sauce on top and rice and mixed vegetables (*you do not get to pick your sides on this one...rice and vegetables were just ok...and I don't like squash or cooked carrots, so just ate the broccoli). But, the oysters were definitely worth it ($25 for 6)...was just perfect! They were HUGE! (*see empty shells in pics)! Again, would be double that in "fancy place". Same with my husband's ribeye. I have been here a few times and have never been disappointed. This time I ordered takeout even though I usually don't eat steak at a seafood restaurant. My brother and I ordered the 14 Oz ribeye with mixed steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes. It's about a10 minute drive home and we were both hungry after his Dr appointment. I pulled out 2 plates and silverware because you just don't eat a steak out of a styrofoam container in Texas( or anywhere). The last bite of that ribeye was just as good as the first bite and it was still nice and warm and perfectly cooked to order. It was tender, juicy and flavorful. We shared a plate of blackened shrimp over rice with a side of mixed steamed vegetables as well. I just wanted a couple of shrimp with my steak and they were seasoned kind of spicy but I liked that kick. I honestly can't wait to do this again soon. read more
