You've Got To Be Kidding Me!!!! This restaurant has the nerve to sell Chinese Food? What an embarrassment to the Asian Communities!. I only gave this place a 2nd chance because THE RICE HOUSE IN NORTH PORT is on vacation and closed. I heard they renovated the place and has new owners. My order was House Special Lo Mein, House Special Fried Rice and 4 Egg Rolls. I brought it home, opened the containers and I was shocked! The rice had very minimal color for "Fried"rice and no flavor. The Lo Mein looked like plain cooked spaghetti with non colored, dry veggies thrown in it!!!! I'm from NJ and know what Chinese food should look and taste like. Trust me, THIS IS NOT IT!!! I brought it back and was refunded. That's is for that so called Chinese Restaurant. I have been a customer for three years and I have seen a steep decline in the quality and quantity of their food. Their egg rolls are tiny and taste like something out of frozen dinner section of a grocery store. Their dishes were so over cooked, the broccoli was like rubber. Their dishes , sesame chicken was little dough balls fried until hard as rock and covered in a horrible sweet sauce..... Very disappointing! read more

Roast pork fried rice.... horrible. Miniscule pieces of pork, rice had no flavor. A proper fried rice dish has egg scrambled and cooked with the rice in a wok. Tiny tiny pieces of vegetables . Pint container was $7.50!!! Way overpriced, will not visit that place again. read more

I ordered sweet-and-sour chicken with rice. I did not order white rice. The red sauce tasted like water was added to it and it made it real thin and disgusting. It wouldn't stick to my chicken. My order was $18. I want a refund. Will not be back.! I had to throw all of this away because I did not order white rice. I should've gotten sweet-and-sour chicken with rice. The brown rice with the vegetables in it. The red sauce was disgusting. Tasted like it was mixed with water. It wouldn't even stay on my chicken. All this food for almost $18. We had tried this restaurant in the Publix shopping center near the Wellen Park Welcome Center once before. It was good then but seemed to be even better on this visit. While there are tables and chairs, I believe this is more of a take-out locale. Our lunch specials were delicious! The egg rolls were flavorful and crispy. I had the Hunan chicken which was perfectly spicy served with pork fried rice which was moist and delicious. Both my dish and my husband's chicken in hot garlic sauce was overflowing with chicken and veggies that were still nicely firm. We couldn't believe how much was in one serving. We might have easily split it for lunch. I wish we lived closer as this would be one of our regular stops! read more

China 1 - My delicious sweet and sour chicken - Chinese Near Me - Venice, Florida

My first impression was not good. I went in the evening and the floor was dirty. The floor looked as it had not been swept or moped in a day or so. There is no ambiance. There is no real barrier between the seating and the kitchen so I could hear everything. A child belonging to the owner, or an employee was loud and moving about. The iPad he was given as a babysitter was inadequate for the task. I did enjoy the food. I had the pepper steak and fried rice. The portion was good sized, but they did use a lot of green pepper as filler. I waited for about ten minutes for my food and took it to go. They did not include any sauce but then I didn't ask either. The woman who took my order was all business. She wasn't friendly but wasn't rude either. I will call ahead to order and take the food to go next time. The food was good but there is no way I would eat there. read more

One way I come up with my rating for a restaurant is asking myself....could I possibly (maybe probably) make this food better myself? And sadly the answer for this place is a solid YES. The Kung Pao chicken and Moo Shoo pork were especially blah. The Honey Chicken was a little better (my two year old enjoyed it) and the chicken fried rice was the least favorite of our group - the chicken was weird...I'm just not quite sure how to describe it other than maybe it just wasn't fresh and little rubbery... This take out used to be a reliable place but lately I find they cut the food up into such small pieces you can't actually find it amongst the huge quantities of rice or noodles. If I order a chicken dish, I want to find an actual fork sized piece of chicken - not a tiny scrap. I ordered a chicken Mei Fun and sifted through it. All the chicken micro-pieces in the entire family sized tub were only enough to fill one dessert spoon. Same with the Moo Shu - it was just a huge solid mess of squished unrecognisible vegetables and a sliver of chicken appearing every now and then. The pancakes that go with it were like tissue paper and tasteless. So - not good enough. I will stay with China Taste by Walmart in Venice who give far better quantities. read more

Tried them for dinner. Could not get the App to take a second choice. So I called it in. There is a very high probability that verbalizing your order will be a challenge with the miriade of selections, sizes, and combinations. Never resolved the App problem even at the restaurant as the employee never used the on line ordering herself. Subsequently When I got the receipt for the order I was given a full order of low mien at $8.95 more than the $2.50 upcharge to substitute it for the fried rice on my Kung Pro chicken combination dinner. They were very understanding and adjusted my order and bill. As for the food, well, let me say they serve very ample portions--absolutely no complaints in that regard. My wife ordered Pork Pad Thai and she was happy with it. My Kung Pao chicken has no tastable spice and the sauce was without a Kung Pao flavor. There was a lot of it but I gave it a 4 out of 10 for taste. Prices are very reasonable. I guess it's worth another try. read more

Wow this place is underrated. Can't believe it's 3 stars on yelp. Ordered lo mien (huge portion size) and a pad Thai that was absolutely fantastic for a Chinese restaurant. Usually quality pad Thai is found at fusion restaurants or whatever but this place has it trust me. This place is really clean and in a great plaza. Ordered Generals Tao's chicken combo, sesame chicken, and egg drop soup. The chicken in both dishes was soggy, flavorless and greasy. The sauce was runny and oily, it didn't coat the chicken it just pooled up in the bottom of the container. The egg drop soup was ok. I felt like this Chinese was a bit over priced. I ended up throwing away the majority of the food because it wasn't appetizing. I wouldn't order from here again. read more

I have tried this new place twice. I wasn't that impressed because the prices were high and the food mediocre. On my second visit I ordered crispy lemon chicken. It came in a takeout container as a bunch of chicken nuggets over a bed of broccoli with a side of lemon sauce for $10.25. Horrible! I will not order from this place again! read more

Their Sesame Chicken was awful. Very dry. Two pieces actually had meat! All breading. Broccoli was completely raw and also dry.

I placed an order online and did not get a confirmation email so I called and explained that I just wanted to make sure that they got it, the lady who answered the phone says oh you have king pao chicken and I said yes but I changed it to tofu and right away we don't do that ok why didn't you call me and tell me that and offer to change it out and charge me a little more no no she just kept saying we don't do that ok perhaps next time you should note it on the website when ordering that additional charges may apply if you change out ingredients. One star is too many. Had an order of General Tso's chicken. There were only tiny bits of chicken at best. Every piece was mostly just a ball of fat. I think it was also left over from earlier in the day. Was definitely not a newly made order. Would expect more from a new business. Think twice before spending your money there. Very disappointing...won't be back. read more
