Don't order Pork Chow Mein .... Mystery Meat? All Onions, no other vegetables. Really GROSS! Egg foo young was good, that had great Veggies & Yummy Brown Gravy. Crab Rangoon always good, seems like Sysco though. Pleasant server/counter....slower service today....accident on 75, they got busy! read more

Just had China King for the first time. I had an expectation that it would be meh, but I was very wrong. I ordered on their website, which made it easy. Then I showed up and found a bustling restaurant, with at least 5 people working in the kitchen. After a short wait, I picked up my food, neatly packed in a box and brought it home. It looked good but the taste would be the real test. Vegetables that snap because they are fresh. Rice that was just the right amount of sticky and fluffy. Shrimp that was cooked perfectly and seemed fresh and with just the right amount of spice. I dare say this might be the best Chinese food I've ever had. I should have tried this place much sooner but am thrilled to add another restaurant into the rotation...as soon as I get through all these leftovers! read more

Born and raised in Queens NYC, I was very sad about not having good Chinese food. I thought i would just have it whenever i go back to visit but China King is just like my Chinese food place back in queens, it not better. I've tried a few Chinese food places down here and China king is the only place that does the boneless spare ribs just like NYC. And guess what? I found out they also came from Queens and had a food place when they lived there. I'm so glad they moved down here bc there are NY'ers down here that will feel like we have a little piece of home home here. So good, fresh and a great family run business. read more

The food was very bland. The fried rice had very little taste. The Lo Mein was similar to plain noodles. I wanted to return our order but it was storming out! read more

Good food . Nice servings . Great service and will change some things to accommodate your taste . ( steamed rice for fried rice) I ate there once , it was fine, but I enjoy take out . read more

I praise when I am able to, but this isn't one of those times. Our order consisted of egg rolls, spring rolls, egg drop soup, special fried rice, and orange beef. The egg rolls and spring rolls were mushy and. Had almost no filling. The egg drop soup was cold and had the consistency of mucous. The fried rice had almost no shrimp (2 pieces), 3 slivers of chicken, and 3 small pieces of pork. The orange beef was bland and clumped together. It was basically general tso's but large wads of old meat. Extremely chewy. My friend and I both wound up getting very sick and nauseous for 12 hours. This is a place to be wary of. It's off our list. They were very busy, but I cannot accept that as excuse read more

We love the food, but the last time we visited the restaurant the portions were considerably smaller and obviously the containers were smaller as well. read more

This place went from a go-to Chinese restaurant to a no-go place! They must have changed ownership. The food is disgustingly bad now. We ordered General Tso's lunch special and a Garlic Shrimp lunch special, along with 4 extra Egg Rolls and a quart of Hot & Sour soup. We asked for extra spicy and neither had any spice at all. $37 for food our dogs wouldn't even eat!! No pork in the egg roles and only 3 peas and one small cube of a carrot in the fried rice. WTF?!?!? My wife went back to work at the hospital and couldn't even eat the food, it was that bad. Never again will we waste our time or money on this place!! read more

OK Chinese take out. Picked up a phoned-in order on a recent Friday night. This is a busy place, many orders coming in and going out. They need to work on their time-to-pick-up estimate... they told me 15 minutes but the food wasn't ready for 40. Food was delicious. Pork fried rice could use a little more pork, peas, onion, egg. It's good, but needs the other stuff to round it out. General Tso's chicken is more sweet than spicy, but still tasty. Overall, this is the local Chinese take-out joint. It's not gourmet, but it's tasty and the quality is solid. read more

China King - General Tso's chicken - Chinese Near Me - Nokomis, Florida

Looks like Chinese food but tastes pretty lousy. Crab Rangoons were tough and seemingly very old, like a solid inside if you could even tear into it. Beef was gelatinous, likely a very cheap cut of beef soaked in baking soda for far too long. Flavors were disappointing at best. General Tso's was super soggy. Food was ready fast but they charged extra for condiments after trying to get away with those gross packets. Insulting on a $85 order. Chinese food in Venice remains a tragedy read more

Ordered online and noticed chicken fingers were not an item in the pupu platter but also not an appetizer option. I called to ask if chicken fingers were available for order and was told only chicken wings or chicken teriyaki. I found this odd but still decided to continue with my online order. I arrived to pickup my order and asked a woman , who I believe was the owner , if chicken fingers were a menu item coming in the future. The women looked disgusted at my question , asked if it was my first time to their restaurant (it was but not sure what that had to do with my question ) and was told that sweet n sour chicken fingers were available. I explained I didn't want sweet n sour - just the chicken finger - to which I was told the sauce is on the side. I explained that I had called to inquire and was not given the option but wish I had known or I would have ordered. Again she looked disgusted and handed me my order. I asked for duck sauce and hot sauce , to which she pointed to packets. I asked for fresh duck sauce and was told that wasn't an option. I brought my order home and was not impressed. The beef and chicken teriyaki was burnt and covered in red sauce. The chicken wings were a color of yellow - something you'd see out of a mall restaurant in the food court. The cheese bites and shrimp were also well done. I know good Chinese food in Florida is not easy to find ... this place is definitively an example of bad Chinese food. Do not recommend. read more

This take out restaurant has a few seats and because it is only a mile away, I stopped in to get a menu. The owner was so polite and thanked me for coming in while welcoming me to the neighborhood. Now the food; AMAZING AND DELICIOUS! The egg roll was perfect in crunch and flavor, the rice was so delicious and cooked perfectly and the egg foo young was thick and delicious with a perfect light gravy! The Crab Rangoon was the best we ever had! We will be back! I feel so lucky knowing I live so close but worth the drive wherever you are! read more

I was hoping to love this place because is so close by and every now and then you feel like Chinese food...WELL...unfortunately it was a big disappointment. Had the chicken chow main combo and...WHERE'S THE CHICKEN?!?!?!nothing but a soup of onions and possibly cabbage, oh wait, a couple of small pieces of shredded chicken. It comes with a side of supposedly Fried Rice but, it was plain yellow rice with NOTHING I mean NOTHING in it, maybe we found one or two beansprouts THAT WAS IT!!! Sorry, but never again! Unless I see better reviews in the future, but in the meantime I'll try somewhere else. read more

Food is always delivered on time and hot...We like this take out Chinese restaurant...the food is good and delivered quickly

it's my go to Chinese takeout service is always good hard-working family business as good as it gets for Florida Chinese

Went there after the hurricane and they were extremely busy. Everything is made to orders. They had people picking up orders that were called in and taking walk In customers. I walked in and was told it would be 25 minutes but it was more like 40 minutes. I had the House special fried rice which was a combo of shrimp, chicken, and beef. I got it to go. The seating is very limited so most people had take out orders. The meal was great. It was extremely flavorful and worth my wait. The read more

The food was good and hot but lacked flavor. It showed on the menu that it was spicy but lacked any spicy flavor. The service was great.

Average. Ordered Szechuan pork hoping it would have some spicy to it but alas, nothing was there. Pork itself was dry...tasty but dry. Hot sauce was basically Tabasco and the hot mustard was bland. Overall, even though the service was fast and easy, the meal was just average. We'll keep looking. read more

The first meal I had moving to Venice! I ordered the Lo Mein lunch special and my boyfriend got the sesame chicken. Both were very delicious and satisfying. They packed a lot of the lunch portions and I was surprised at how reasonably priced it was. Definitely going to be my go to fast Chinese food! (Only complaint I had was the fried rice could use a little more seasoning, but nothing a little soy sauce can't fix.) read more

I have had take out here a few times, but always looking how the dinners are prepared, you can see every thing being done. I thought we'll not the cleanest but heat kills everything ...WRONG!!! My third time I got a good dose of FOOD POISONING when I got home and start to consume my meal.. thinking wow.. this taste strange, continuing to consume the food and still questioning..and staying quite among my guest and family. By midnight. I was in the restroom throwing up the meal. Over and over..I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THAT RESTAURANT. 2450 Laurel rd and pine Brook location. This may have been a fluk.. but when I comes to my health ... NEVER AGAIN.. REGARDLESS read more

I usually don't write reviews but I had to actually point out the fact that this was the most fresh Chinese food I've ever had. Even walking in the restaurant they had so much joy and greeted me right away which never happens ether. I don't even live around the area but If I did, this spot would be my go-to. The bad reviews for this place are trippen this was definitely a rare experience. read more

Literally the best take out I've ever had !! First time trying I got the lunch general tso special with an egg role and omg it was so good. The egg roll was fresh and crispy and such good flavor. The general tso chicken was perfect crispy bite size pieces and tasted so fresh. The next time I went back I tried the bourbon chicken and that was delicious too. Not to mention you get a huge portion for only $7. Amazing!! Going back again to try the pepper steak and onions read more

Another strip mall Chinese place - nothing fancy - but the food was very good. We had Egg Rolls, dumplings, General Tso chicken, sesame chicken, and orange chicken plus white rice. Everything was very good and the meals were plenty for four adults to share with some leftovers for lunch today! If you want takeout Chinese in the Nokomis area (just off I-75) I recommend it. I'm sure we'll eat here again. read more

We've been ordering from here after our last Chinese place had some health violations. Food is delicious! We are here biweekly, veggie lo mein, crab Rangoon, fried dumplings, pork fried rice, beef and broccoli, bourbon chicken, reasonable prices and clean thank you read more

The food here is quite average, but for what it is, they do a good job. You will get a filling plate of lunch for your $5.55. I got the Hunan chicken, and the veggies were plentiful as well as the meat. They cut the meat kind of large, but I think most people will not mind. The woman who owns the restaurant is very nice. I have a good memory from eating here, while the cool Florida breeze blew in behind us. It's right next to a Publix so you can weigh in on the Higi machine after filling up with Chinese food. read more

The food was not good and I didn't even get what I ordered. Waited 20 minutes and I didn't have time to wait for the order to be redone.

We just ordered from this place. Have ordered in the past and it wasn't to bad. This time everything was bland and under or over cooked. The sweet and sour chicken was saturated in oil and undercooked. The bourbon chicken was burned and the sauce had allot of oil in it. The shrimp with mixed vegetables was undercooked and the veggies were raw. On the positive side they did refund everything when we returned the food. read more

So, the office ordered from this place the week before last and I ordered chicken chow mein. When I went to look for it, all I could find was a quart of cabbage with a few thin pieces of chicken. Of course, I thought they sent me the wrong thing so I called. Come to find out that unlike every other Chinese restaurant, their chow mein is not served with noodles, it's served with rice. Even so, the chicken was nonexistent and was charged $9 for a quart of cabbage lathered with cornstarch, yuk. Will never order from this place again! read more

Best Chinese food in Venice area. Staff friendly and helpful unlike other place on Venice Avenue. Wonderful tofu dishes not found elsewhere.

Absolutely the worst service I've ever encountered. We waited almost an hour for our takeout that had previously been ordered on line. No one has was in charge- only a few teenagers. We left having already paid for our dinners and not getting them. We were just grateful to get out of there. An expensive lesson learned- NEVER GO HERE! read more
