Chicken Sandwich, split pea soup (yum!), steak plate

One of our favorite restaurants in the twin cities! This place never fails to disappoint, and we've recently learned they have specials during the week and brunch during the weekends! Really great Ecuadorian food, reminds us of all the best food we've tried in Ecuador and then some. The plates are huge and filling, the sandwiches have great flavor, and definitely don't skip the humitas if you go for brunch! Great service, the inside is small and casual but family friendly with a very homey vibe. Highly recommend!

People kept telling me to check this place out. So glad we did, it was delicious. The spices, sauces and authenticity make this a great place to dine. We tried the beef empanadas, encocado and seco de pollo. I could eat sweet plantains every day! The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the interior is bright and happy! Parking can be a bit tough as Trader Joe's is right next door, just have a little patience. :)

Definitely my favorite restaurant! Gohere once or twice a month. They're green sauce is out of this world, finally purchased a bottle and have no regrets. My favorite is the churrasco. The soup caldo de bolas de verde is also delicious!

We got the Empanadas de Carne. They were amazing! Great service, cute location in Highland Park. Can't wait to come back and try other things on the menu.

The chicken sandwich was deemed good!

Delicious Ecuadorian food. We stopped by for lunch before heading to the airport. I had the fried rice which was deelish. Order at the counter and they'll bring the food out to you. Portions were generous. Most of us took leftovers home. The Lomo Saltado looked really good too. Not so sure about the catfish stew.. but hey, gotta try it once, right? Casual place with good service.

As an Ecuadorian native, finding authentic food that tastes just like the one back home is tough. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for authentic Ecuadorian food. Every time I have been to Chimborazo, I am never disappointed. I will happily make the drive to either location to get this quality of food

We had an amazing breakfast! Muchin de yuca, empanada de carne, and Saltado breakfast. My son keeps asking when we are going back!

Chaulafan (Ecuadorian fried rice)-delicious! Would make for a good shareable

Visited 12/21/24. First visit to Chimborazo was a delight! Big group of us (7 people) and the staff was so accommodating and helpful. Notes for beforehand: you will order at that counter so while they have menus to look at, it wouldn't hurt to look online ahead of time. Also, this location is in the same lot as a Trader Joe's so depending on when you go, I would forego the parking lot and just do street parking instead. Overall, loved this place. Good vibes, portions sizes were gigantic, and everything was flavorful and solid. Some of the things our party ordered included: yuca frita and llapingachos appetizers for the table, churrasco, lomo saltado, Chaulafan, encocado, and the ecuatoriano vegetariano. A few of us also shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio. Prices for the amount of food you get were very reasonable. Highlights: -Encocado! Omg I'm getting this next time I come. My cousin ordered per recommendations from staff with shrimp and it was delightful. Almost like a curry sauce with coconut flavors this was refreshing and delicious. By far my favorite thing I tried. I poached a plantain off of my cousin's plate and this was delicious as well. -Yuca Frita. They cooked this perfectly so it was crisp and it made for a great shareable. -Chaulafan. An Ecuadorian fried rice, this was very flavorful and I enjoyed it. I would maybe consider sharing this and another entree with someone else because it was a lot of food. -My sister's highlight was the muchin de yuca that came with her ecuatoriano vegetariano platter. She said it was well cooked and unique! I will definitely be back, had a great experience with incredibly kind and knowledgeable staff!

This is a cute place in a little mall. You order at the counter. Water is available as a self serve. We ordered and the food came out fairly quickly. The food is a bit on the high side and the terminal will push for a large tip. The food was great. The taste and look was wonderful.

I have been meaning to check out Chimborazo for a while now and I am so glad that I did! The space itself feels a bit crowded but that adds to a nice community feel. There was a lot of energy in the restaurant. It was a little confusing to order at the bar and then go to the table when tables seemed like such a commodity. It's a weird fast casual feel at a place with such great food that people linger and chat while they eat. I ordered the Empanada De Carne to start and it was perfect. Even the salad on the plate that at most places I would consider a garnish was seasoned perfectly and accompanied the empanada with a fresh light flavor. The green sauce though that is a strong contender for best supporting item on the plate. For my main I ordered the Encocado with Shrimp. I thought I'd have some leftover, but I could not stop. The flavors were light the rice perfectly cooked and the fried plantains added another great texture and flavor to the plate. Plus it comes with an extra little dish of green sauce. Which is the right amount of fresh flavor to provide some good variety. I will come back and I will struggle to convince myself to try something different because I will want to eat this meal again. The only negative in my experience is the oil candles on the table let off a weird chemical smell. Next time I'll blow it out to avoid that oddness but that was so minor I feel like I am reaching to find something to improve.

Super excited that Chimbaroza is in our neighborhood- the NE location is one of my favorite restaurants and this location is just as good. I ordered Takeout online and it was easy and quick. Their food is excellent- I ordered Vegetarian soltado with side of plantains. Vegetables cooked in a peppery sauce with a hint of fruitiness. super yummy. The plantains weee cooked to perfection as well. I can't wait to eat in and give a more full review

Chimborazo serves one of my favorite dishes in town (llapingachos con chorizo). So I was delighted to learn they opened a St. Paul location. Over by the Trader Joe's, parking kind of sucks. But it's well worth the trip. Unlike the Northeast location, I was sad to learn that llapingachos are not on the daily menu here -- only on weekends. So I got my backup - insalata fresca, which was fresh and delicious as always with grilled shrimp. Also, unlike the Northeast location, you order and pay at the counter and then they bring the food out to you. But overall, a very good representation of the Northeast spot and a lovely expansion for one of my local faves.

The food was really good. I loved the green sauce that came with the Encocado. Parking is a little tight because of Trader Joe's next door.

Probably categorized as "fast casual," the food was outstanding. The fresh juices were not too sweet and the service was good.

Amazing food! I didn't really know what to expect as I haven't tried Ecuadorian food before but…read morewhat stood out the most to me was how flavorful the meat was. We tried entrees with chicken, steak and pork and I couldn't believe how good every kind of meat was. Whatever they marinate it in is soooo flavorful! The portion size was big and we all left really full. For the quality and portion size I think it was really reasonably priced! We went on a Saturday and it was busy, there was a line out the door. But the food was worth the wait! Most of the entrees came with a green sauce that was so good we asked for two more servings of it. Inside the restaurant it feels like you're actually in Ecuador with the colors and decorations. I'll definitely be back!

It's cozy in the main dining area when there's people, but we had attentive service. I love their sandwiches here. The clearly bilingual waitress even indulged (and gently corrected) my broken Spanish as I ordered one! They have their specials chalked up on the wall to easily see, and the kitchen is right below it. Everyone worked in sync, bussing tables and making sure folks were seated promptly. I've never had a bad meal here. Everything is so, so good. The only downside is that they ran out of the wine I ordered, so it's a testament to how wonderful their food and drink are.

West Side

For the "west side" of St. Paul (I don't know why it is called that, for it is truly south and not…read moreat all west!), this is a very cool, chic and original concept for a foodie establishment. I went here with my twin sister, her husband, her husbands 2 brothers and one of his brother's fiance who were in town. All are foodies. All wanted to experience a good night out to titillate the tastebuds. For I try to impress upon out of town guests that not everyone in MN is of Scandinavian origin! But I digress... The food is just...awesome! Presentation is completely unique, including flaming drinks, an assortment of vessels for the dishes to accommodate the dish with an interesting flare without compromising ease of consuming or taste. Patatas bravas, tequenos, and rompe colchon were excellent. I mean mouth wateringly amazing. Shrimp in the rompe colchon was cooked PERFECTLY and the balance of the sour leche de tigre and mango made the dish interesting for the palate. Broccolini side dish was also cooked perfectly and the cheese foam gave a unique twist to the side dish. I ordered the bollitos pelones and OH MY GOODNESS. Think huge fried (but not greasy) ball of corn dough (like tamale but grains not so fine) stuffed with braised lamb and swimming in a dark, curry and spiced sauce. It was SOOOO GOOD and nothing like I'd ever had before. I also tried the pasta with rabbit and UMAMI! it was tasty. Also unique flavor that I cannot quite identify and the sauce to meat to pasta ratio was perfect. LOVED this experience and will 10000000% go back!

Crasqui isn't a traditional Venezuelan restaurant--it's a love letter. A tribute to memory,…read moretradition, and the flavors that shaped Chef-Owner Soleil's story. A political refugee from Venezuela, Chef Soleil translates pieces of her upbringing into elevated dishes that feel deeply personal. Each plate draws from the people, places, and moments that formed her, quietly transporting you to Crasqui--the tiny island off Venezuela's coast with sandy beaches and clear blue waters that inspired the name. Our Christmas Eve dinner was special not just for what was on the table, but for how it felt: warm, unhurried service, thoughtful pacing, and an atmosphere that invited you to stay awhile. Our table had the pleasure to indulge in: - Seafood Empanadas: calamari, shrimp, white fish & squid ink. - Rompe Colchón: shrimp ceviche in pineapple-habanero leche de tigre with house-made cassava chips. - Croquetas de Chorizo: potato fritters stuffed with leeks, garlic & chistorra chorizo. - Venezuelan Christmas Dinner: *Hallaca (corn dough filled with pork, beef & chicken wrapped in smoked plantain leaves); *Pernil (slow-cooked pork leg in malta & red wine); *Pan de Jamón (bread with raisins, smoked ham, green olives & cane sugar syrup); *Ensalada de Gallina (chicken salad). - Mochima: Mahi-Mahi stuffed with crab, parmesan & herb crust, sambuca beurre blanc, cilantro oil. Luxurious in texture and deeply satisfying, with each element clearly considered and working in quiet harmony. This dish was memorable for all the right reasons. - Dulce de Lechoza: Green Papaya dessert served with Vanilla Ice Cream. - Christmas Hug: their version of a Holiday old-fashioned. - Mulled Christmas wine What truly sets Crasqui apart: it is the only Venezuelan fine-dining restaurant in Minnesota, one of just three in the U.S., the only Venezuelan rum bar in the Midwest, and proudly 100% Latina & female-owned! Definitely a restaurant worth adding to your dinner rotation!
