I've lived in the general neighborhood for a couple of years, but only visited this place for the first time a few weeks ago and boy, I wish I knew about it earlier. This place has a huge selection of fresh baked breads, cookies, pastries, as well as some more savory sandwich options and other amazing dishes. All of the baked goods are self serve in which you put on a plastic glove and load up your tray with whatever you'd like and then pay at the end. As for the sandwiches, you'd have to order at the front. I have only ever done baked goods here, but the staff have all been extremely kind to me. The baked goods are all amazing and super affordable. Most of the baked goods are between 1 and 3 bucks a piece. I have been back a number of times in the last few weeks and tried a lot of their dishes and they have all been amazing. The place is pretty small inside, but there are a few places to sit. That being said, it's definitely much more common to just do it to-go.

SPACE There are a surprising amount of tables in this bright and colorful restaurant! It may seem small from the outside, but there's probably 10 tables for in-store dining. DRINKS You can get margaritas, beer, and other drinks here, but our minds were set on aguas frescas. Their tamarindo and jamaica were AMAZING! Must try. FOOD We got their: - chips and salsa - free at the table for dine-in - birria pupusas plate - must have! Delicious. Or any of the pupusas. - tacos - multiple meats. Also so good! - salvadorian tamale - with chicken Highly recommend!

That is our absolute favorite dish there so when there's a special happening, you already know I'm gonna hit it up. The service was slow despite the restaurant not crowded. The server was not aware of the special deal however once I informed her of the special and she confirmed with the manager, they did honor the pricing. Loved that!! However the staff was sooo friendly and attentive, and the space is SO COOL. I caught myself just looking around most of the time haha. I'm sure the vibes are immaculate at night as a night club. The food was OK at best, maybe even lower than ok. I wouldn't recommend the brunch foods. The mimosas were fun and tasty - $25 for a bottle. Overall I look forward to coming back at night for a drink and to dance! I'll skip the food and the weird morning vibes haha.

A new item I tried this time was the potato holas. Omg, these little potato coins were fire!! Loved them with both chimichurri and aioli. Dinner is also great. The last time I went was a couple years ago, but they had a burger on a pap de queijo bun which was quite good. And the nachos, salsas, and of course arepas are always great. There is nothing ghetto, dark or 'low-brow' about this place at all, and if you enjoy bright flavors and reasonable prices, I recommend giving it a shot. The food had a ton of flavor and the presentations were really lovely. My boyfriend bought a groupon for Mango that included an appetizer, two drinks, and two entrees. I got a Peruvian cocktail made with lots of Brandy that was awesome, and he got a Brazilian drink that was basically a vodka mojito, that he really liked. I don't remember what they were called unfortunately, but they were both refreshing. They had a lot of interesting Latin drinks I'd like to try, all for 7 bucks which I thought was a great deal. For an appetizer we shared the grilled shrimp and avocado plantain tapas. These were phenomenal! Sometimes when I go to a restaurant and try something new, I end up craving it for weeks after. That's how I felt about this dish. The shrimp and avocados were fresh, the salsa had a nice spice, and the fried plantains were a great complement. There was no easy way to eat them, but they were good enough that I didn't care if I looked ridiculous eating them with my hands! My boyfriend and I both ordered seafood. He had the Seafood Stew, which included shrimp, mussels, crab, halibut, calamari etc. I'm always leery about seafood stew because I think it can often times be too fishy. His was wonderful however; the broth was mild but flavorful and the seafood was well prepared and super tasty. I had the halibut de la mar, which came with crab, shrimp and peppers and onions. I though the flavor was great, although I would have preferred it a bit spicier. We both got a side of rice and beans, and this was my boyfriends favorite thing. He's a rice snob (lol) and though I may tease him, I definitely agreed that this was the best restaurant rice we've ever had. It was actually...seasoned!! It tasted good plain! The beans were a great addition, but the rice didn't really even need them. The service was super slow, but the servers were otherwise friendly and helpful. The place was pretty empty on a Thursday night, and I hope they do more business. I'd really like to go back for some drinks and apps one night.

They were out of their yucca frita, which we were sad about, but they gave us a side of plantains when we asked.
